This anime is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s novel of the same name without the X for those who do not know. The most obvious difference it is more in-lined with fantasy, semi-action and of course the romance/drama genre.

The introduction to this manga is quite casual it may seem simple at first but as the story progresses it adds a special something to it so to speak.

Seeing Overlord for the first time will make you think “oh…it’s just another op MC trapped in a game kind of thing” but that all change when I actually finished it. Although the “being stuck in a virtual game” genre became a cliché nowadays because of a certain anime if you know what I mean…and of top of that the OP main character with ridiculous amount of strength is obviously a cliché too. But this anime in particular is unique in its own way especially anime in this particular genre or setting. The difference is in its different views on certain subjects from the characters ... ideals and ambitions to total action packed OP badass that will make awe.

The story revolves around a player trapped in a virtual game that turned reality and progresses into conquest of the land. Even though the plot is cliché the story is not. The small detail of how the anime captures the memories of your comrades the hardships and joys of in-game achievement and adventures and the pain and loneliness of seeing your friends dwindle one by one leaving you all by yourself while gazing at the room that was once filled with you and your teammate’s joys and laughter. On the bright side the story it is quite enjoyable it can be complicated at times when they are explaining certain gaming elements and stuff. The introduction is relatively slow to because of the introduction of the main characters and the supporting characters. However, as the story progresses the pacing and flow of the story changes from slow to moderate just like the rising and falling of events on the story. One of the most interesting factor on this anime is the MC or the subjects main point of views in the story that has a different feel or rather does not tie to the “shounen protagonist/hero cliché” that fights for justice and etc. It’s not only the views of the main character but also the stories the different approach on thinking logically, strategically, emotionally and acting by principle. The anime gives you the question “What should be the right approach on the current situation/circumstances?” and also the phrase “Everything has a reason/price in what you do”. The conclusion of this anime will make you want for more or a second season in particular. The ending is in fact a mild ending scene; it is not too bad or does not have a major plot twist or impact. It just wants to make you want for more.

The art style is actually good they did a good job with the use of some CG animation to feature some action sequences that are badass and impressive. The art fits with fantasy like setting and the mix of effects on scenes with fighting and usage of magic that smoothly mixes with the story. The representation of the characters personality matches with the art especially the MC’s “Overlord” physique and representation. The most promising factor is the production gives the audience the blood and violence that the audience yearned for in a simple yet badass representation of blood and gore. It is not too gory and not to plain “no blood” killings. Also not over censored blood and gore that cover the entire anime.
The voice actors portrayed the characters personality traits quite realistically. The BGM differs and is somewhat is in sync with the atmosphere of the story. The Opening and Ending song of the anime are in my opinion are awesome. The Opening for me represents the Overlord’s ambition, thoughts and emotions. The Ending song is amazing with its mixture of metal and distorted electronic that is simply awesome.
The characters development in the story is good the progression of each character but mainly the protagonist can be easily seen by the changes and circumstances of the events and situation and how they can cope with it.
The characters portrayal and the development of each one with their different personalities and principles are quite interesting.

In conclusion the anime overlord achieved somewhat my expectation on the trapped in a video game setting by giving it a different approach and unique points of view than the usual “shounen protagonist troupe”. The overall enjoyment is amazing it will give you incites in the different aspects on what will you do or the choices that may affect your judgment. While it has a deeper feel of being the last member of your guild and the only one who’s trying to preserve it by making well known to the land. Truly one of my favorite anime, highly recommended for the people who likes a different views besides the usually cliché style of delivering while it still has that OP character that is badass and amusing at the same time.

Hi! this is my review on the anime Barakamon

For me its hard to dislike a slice of life anime because of its simpleness of the story, the jolly happy realistic characters and more scenic view of the places either the countryside or city.

Story 9/10

The story is heartwarming, simple and funny. It shows the occasional struggles of city folks that are now living in the province. The atmosphere shown in the anime has a feel at home kind of emotions.

Kimi no Iru Machi: Mousou 200-wa (Manga) add

Kimi no iru machi is an amazing manga but what's more amazing is that the author has answered the request of the readers in the discussions about the "scenes" that have happened in the mangas chapters.
