I don't quite understand the people reviewing this. Are you seriously telling me this is relatable to how "gamers" behave?
That must be a joke, because in the first place, The "Gamers!" in the title is only to lure for viewers, nothing more. The plot itself has nothing relatable to video games, this series is all about misunderstandings and a boring/generic romcom plot.
Let's start with the basics, the story is pretty bland, first 3 episodes do have a bit of game references and how the protagonists game and stuff. That's about it, after episode 4 the misunderstandings and the romcom start, but horribly. I understand the
...
misunderstandings are the plot itself, but they are making it so they are slow paced and rather boring, at times it feels like filler when it obviously shouldn't be. It just feels like they are dragging it to at least make it up to 12 episodes because we haven't gotten any progress in the story so far, always at the same point, but it is a "slice of life". Althought, i wouldn't consider a slice of life.
My general problem with these misunderstandings is that they are all the same, i expected them to improvise a bit and make them different than each other, but they only spoil on how a one cheats on another when it doesn't really happen, blah, blah... Tell me, where's the creativity in that? In the end, the plot doesn't move on because of this.
Artwise, the animation is nothing special, but i don't really mind it. The designs are really good for the most part. Environments are quite good looking and scenarios are fitting. The colour palette is quite nice and vibrant too.
Sound/Music is top notch if you ask me, but i feel like the BGM does not fit with the scenes at times. VA are quite enjoyable, and really nice choice. The Op might be the only thing from this anime that includes Game references, the ED is enjoyable as well.
This is the other problem i have with most reviews and the series itself. There's nothing from the character development and behaviour that make me think "oh i act like that" "that has happened to me" "oh i hate that feeling", literally nothing. Well, i didn't think anything of that because, the character development is horse poop, like the only character we know a bit is Tendou, no one else had a "let me get to know thing" thingy were we see their daily lives and stuff. We are already at episode 10, and i would've loved to see a bit of storyline for the game club Tendou has, i would've loved to see more from the protagonists as child' and how they got into games (But, obviously that won't be possible, this isn't a series about gamers)
The whole premise was good, but not with an almost clickbait title "Gamers!", the series is just a generic romcom we see all seasons. Nothing new, nothing creative and nothing funny about it. I did wait quite some time to see if things would've gotten to the start point again, but nope, it's just the same over and over again. Edit: I'm dropping it, i'm just tired of this whole plot, it makes no sense. Lowered from 3 to 2 on overall.

As of chapter 12 i decided to drop the series. This was far from good, instead it was disappointing. Chapter 1 was promising so i kept watching. It kept my hype until episode 6 where it dropped, plain and boring. Episode 7, 8 and 9 where the most boring of them all. Boring fights as well as boring dialogue. They talk about the same topic over 20 minutes, yet the story doesn't go on. We get to see some action scenes in all episodes, yet they don't finish them in the next one, they cut it with interruptions of some sort. I get that not
...
everything should be action, indeed a good conversation is needed, but in this case, there's no progress, they are always at the same point.
There's barely to no character development, everyone is just dull, empty and boring (Asides that they are useless), i'd say that the creators have more development than everyone else. Nothing to say about the protagonist, he was boring and weak, but we can't expect anything from him. And to this point they just dragged the story for 12 episodes, because his smart-ass aka small pride was hiding something about the "main antagonist" which was pretty obvious.
The anime could've been a great one for the season, yet they ruined it. The art and sounds are nice but that's it. I do enjoy conversation in anime, if they are part of the plot. In this case, the plot was everything, but the things they talked. Dropped with no chance to re-watch. Boring and plain. I have no idea what the studio was thinking, it was such a good premise, but ended up being your typical shounen anime. I don't really understand where did all the i hype i had come from.
I don't really care if you don't agree with this, but please refrain from calling me a troll, just because i didn't like something you loved.

There will be some sections separated in 2 parts, this is because i have 2 different opinions in some of them. Those will be separated as "As an adaptation" as i will be reviewing it as a direct adaptation from the manga, and "As an original" just liked said, to me, this was more of an original series rather than a direct adaptation, so i will review it considering this is an original series.
STORY: 4
-Part 1 - As an adaptation (3/10)
Of all the things they could've done, they decided to not follow the story. While at the beginning it looked like a pretty good adaptation,
...
they lost that later in the series. To my eyes, it's just an original series made inspired by the manga.
-Part 2 - As an original series (5/10)
The show is ok, obviously it needs a lot of work. It is fast paced for those who don't like that much dialogue, while at some points it's quite confusing since they don't focuse on telling us the meaning of things, you get the hang of it after some time.
ART: 4
The art is nothing from the other world, it's good most of the time, but sometimes it just stops being smooth and that's where the problems come. Most fights were not properly focused, so you could barely understand what was going on. The point i probably liked were how they did the Kagunes, they are straight up beautiful.
Sound: 8
The music and voice acting in this is such a nice thing that a lot of shows are missing. The Opening is really nice and the Ending is just fabulous. The insert music was also really pleasing and it was put in the right places.
Character: 3
We get to know a lot of characters, like, a lot. But, unfortunately, none of them has proper development. To me, the 2 that got proper and nice development were Kaneki and Rize, all of the others were almost just like extras to actually make a story, they didn't really contribute in anything.
Enjoyment: 6
Part 1 - As an adaptation (5/10)
I liked this show, but at the same times i hated it, i read the manga before hand and they didn't follow everything from it, at the beginning it was going good but instantly went down and they clearly started a new story, or better said, they just wanted the fast way out. They did things way too quickly.
-Part 2 - As an original series (7/10)
The show is nice, but there are some things that could've been explained before anything, the way they ended it was also weird and bad, it just felt empty and dull after that fight, to just end it with kaneki eating? Ok.

Let's make it really basic and simple.
Story: 9/10
I would've loved if they explained some things such as how this war started, the origin of the "mages", or even the story of the salaryman. That aside, you cannot just deny this is a hell of a story, how the salaryman(Tanya) doesn't believe in God(Mr.X) and this last refuses the fact that she/he doesn't believe in religion. You get to see some stuff that happened in the war, as well as some fiction, which is phenomenal. You get to see how anger can lead to anything in this world, which is pretty much true. IMO, i seriously
...
loved it, but felt confused at the beginning, obviously understood most of the story at episode 2. Also, that ending though, the tease for a second season is too much.
Art:10/10
The art is just beautiful, pleasing to watch/see, backgrounds and landscapes were exquisite, the desings of the characters were so good, althought they were not as close as the LN or the manga, but the resemble was still there and it was beautifully made. Sometimes they used CGI, but barely noticeable and acceptable in any way.
Sound:10/10
This is what i loved the most to be honest. The background music, the sounds of the guns and everything related to the war, the voice acting, the opening, the ending, everything was spectacular. But the complain i have, is that they seemed to not have that many people for voice acting as the person doing the "Radio Command" was also used in a lot of filler people.
Character: 10/10
What can i say. Character development for lots, for every single character. How they behave, how do they get angry or happy, their likings, their emotions and expressions. Althought the story centers on Tanya, they did take the time to show the development of all the characters. (This excluding the deity called Mr.X)
Enjoyment:10/10
First 7 episodes, i gave the show a 8 for enjoyment, it was missing some points here and there but nothing from the other world. But these last episodes have been more than fantastic and i really enjoyed every single second of them.
Overall:10/10
As you see, i quite loved the show. You are free to disagree or agree, i don't really care. As always, pardon me for being redundant at times or any grammar error.
