Just like Nagatoro herself, a little piece of me continued to tease me into spending time with this...until we fell in love. It's unquestionably perverse. This series is also insurmountably wholesome. Does some of the novelty wear off over the course of the first season? hmm..yeah, a bit. However, the main plot points exude a resonant warmth and the threads between them are at worst- still pretty enjoyable. The innocent lack of understanding how to convey affection slowly developing into clumsily and sometimes even elegant heartening displays of budding love have been quite the accompaniment to 2021's blooming flowers of another beautifully fleeting spring season. ... 10/10 want season 2 to step all over me

Just finished season 1. This show brought the hype. The narrative's flow was so compelling and I do believe it felt so engrossing because the characters are badass and pretty well done. There's also a sense that there's so much left to discover by the end of the season even though it concluded satisfyingly. Was the animation incredible? No not really but it was serviceable enough to be inoffensive.

I believe this goes up to a little past chapter 50 or so in the manga? Theres about 200 chapters currently so really looking forward to seeing a season 2...and that's the main feeling dominating what's ... on my mind after having just finished season 1- I can't wait to find out what happens next, which I don't necessarily feel all too easily these days.

You ever have those times when you just breeze right through a manga volume...I mean when you really get into its flow and feel right there? 20th Century Boys made me cry, and it was every bit as awesome as I could've hoped for.

The thoughtful panelling and distinct comfort with which Urasawa allows his art style to unfold so naturally to give life to all the well-conceived/implemented characters was absolutely precious to experience. What a windingly wild tale, where interpersonal interactions are carried out so well you'd think the mangaka had lived multiple lives already. What some might describe as filler or derailment serves to ... grant more detailed textures to the overall plot deftly and in varied enough ways which never felt forced or repetitive. The characters are so unmistakably, themselves; Urasawa nails characterization and it's refreshing for such an older series.

Read 20th Century Boys if you like well-crafted manga. I'll maintain that anyone who didn't enjoy it just wasn't at a good time in there life where they could. There really isn't much to be critical of here. Unmistakably, a masterpiece

Well, admittedly I actually struggled considerably even getting myself to watch this series. The impression I had was that of an overhyped, relatively generic shounen- devoid of the elegant nuance I usually seek from anime and manga. I was of course incorrect in that assessment and I believe that to be emblematic of how this community can sometimes spur people towards judging something on things it isn't attempting to even do.

Demon Slayer is just a lot of fun. Though, its lighthearted tone fluttering throughout most moments never really got in the way of some timeless thematic representations of various aspects of the human condition ... for me personally. It's all balanced super well. Grave situations/emotions gives way to outlandish comedy rather quickly and at times even takes place closely together- it just sort of always refreshingly worked for me. Koyoharu Gotouge (the mangaka) wisely included quite a few characters with experiences rife with elemental characteristics of different types of people and how events in life can affect them; I considerably enjoyed realizing the author understands many different types of people well enough to include so many believable characters and reactions from them.

When one character says to another, "I guess..the voice in your heart is really tiny" or " Hey, that doesn't matter. Since you helped me out, you're part of me now. And I'm carrying all of your emotions onto the battlefield with me!" surrounded by the context that makes those lines relevant, they serve as examples of how a writer can voluminously imbue authentic reminders of certain things we as people could do well to reflect on for awhile, all in a few short lines or so..well, that to me is valuable in art.

I could go on about the great animation, and how I as a 28 year old graduate student enjoyed the reprieve of comedy others might disparage as childish or unrefined, or how Nezuko is adorable and Chuntaro is best girl- but none of that or the other things I don't have much more time to mention seem necessary for me to elucidate my main point.

Demon Slayer does what it tries to do entrancingly well from where I was sitting. Sure, there're things I could draw attention to which weren't all that perfect in my assessment- but what's of critical importance here is I genuinely don't think any of it got in the way of me being enthralled with watching a show I was almost positive would've been underwhelming. Lotta fun and looking forward to the movie premiering in the US and reading the manga past the anime. But really Chuntaro is precious

Alright. Anime of course can fulfill nearly countless types of desired entertainment; what your expectations are, what you want from a series, where your head's at in life when watching it and how it will resonate with you are all variably incalculable. The essence of these things are fairly impossible to be objective about or even mindfully grasp in their entirety.

Did Rent-a-girlfriend lay down artistic work which will ripple into the future in substantive ways like Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood or Evangelion did for this community? Well, not quite..I don't believe. However, I was personally absolutely enthralled the entire time enjoying this first ... season.

Being critical about this show for things it isn't attempting to do is a foolish waste of time from my perspective. I'm not even entirely certain as to what it was precisely trying to accomplish in the first place. What I do unquestionably know is that I was uniquely entertained by all the wackiness, pure cringe moments and all the wholesome development throughout.

Anime is cool in that with the more series I watch, I understand more and more how limitless a medium it is for artistic expression. Rent-a-girlfriend is just a wildly good time, at least it was for me. I'd recommend it to any other grown degenerate who is looking for something fresh and oddly enthralling

Thoughts of how to approach earnestly encapsulating my experience reading Punpun here digestibly while attempting to mostly accurately express the profundity which I consider myself fortunate enough to have experienced during my time snuggled up on all those unsure nights in the summer of 2020 (which is of course, currently continuing to unfold as quite the multitudinously extraordinary year) flipping through little paper pages with the weight of the world inked all over...well, I suppose there're limitless ways I could go about trying to explain my understanding of the essence and perceived value of this series.

I'll get right to the point and keep it as succinct as I know how to- all of Goodnight Punpun's explosively expressive art, raw characterization, thoughtful panelling, appearance of powerful humor laced with morbidity behind unexpected corners, sometimes beautifully erratic and other times meditatively focused narrative flow, intimately human writing and deft inclusion/placement of thematic tones during moments when the whole world just..stopped...made me feel exquisitely alive. When the content of this manga met with 28 years of considerably impressionistic colors swirling around in this head of mine, burstingly rife with all sorts of particularities which've formed the initiative to write this assessment, I'd encountered realizations and subsequent periods of reflection which illuminated various nuanced developments comprising my perspectives on certain things.

The warmest words I can provide to represent my admiration for what Inio Asano created here at this very moment are that his work both humbly and loudly awoke parts of me which served to remind that 'growing up' is a continuous privilege of being human until the very day our ephemerally fleeting time is extinguished.

Awhile ago and after watching a considerable amount of relatively diverse anime, I finally started to enjoy things for what they are without detracting value due to identifying what a series didn't do because it wasn't trying to. Regardless of what anyone might want from the second season of Attack on Titan, in my personal assessment it provides the experience it tries to with a sinister elegance that captivated me thoroughly.

The sound is dynamic. The Japanese voice actors are flatout incredible. The animation is varyingly awesome. The flow of the plot constantly rekindled my intrigue. The characters develop pleasantly. The artwork and especially the ... line-work was impressively able to add texture to the immersion.

I was engrossed in season one, and heard 2 can be boring in comparison. I'm gonna go ahead and respectfully disagree entirely there. Season 2 of Attack on Titan is bombastically entertaining in multifariously near-masterful ways. It's resonantly compelling, and I find myself exceedingly pumped to enjoy season 3~

The art, raw aspects of the human condition, pacing, characterization, animation, music, overall ambiance and all else contained within these 25 episodes synergistically forms a fairly masterfully implemented representation of how awesome anime can be. I waited this long to realize this, and I'm glad I've been able to enjoy this season for the first time after experiencing enough anime to appreciate what this show does so well- grip the attention of a gentleman such as myself. A chillingly fun time meaningfully spent. Very much looking forward to continuing this series.

I genuinely thought this show was riding the wave of having an interesting premise, ... but that it'd be relatively devoid of any worthwhile quality when I first watched the first episode a few years ago. Back then, I'd watched the english dub which I thought was pretty whack. Dropped it immediately. Over the years I'd heard more and more people who I respected the opinions of commenting on how this is just an objectively cool anime for a wide variety of reasons so I finally gave it another shot which I'm unspeakably happy about.

I mostly watch dubs and will stand by that understanding the english language with all it's inflections and nuances coupled with not having to read leads to a pretty unarguably better viewing experience if the dub is of a respectably soulful quality...I watched this with Japanese voices and it was flatout incredible

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan is awesome. The writing of season 1 deftly exemplified intelligence and an assortment of unique but familiar humor. Transitions and jokes were on point in surprising ways fairly often. Really enjoyed my time all the way through. I used to savor episodes at first and just impulsively watched the last four episodes straight. Theres a special electricity to this show which was as endearing as it was entertaining.

From my perspective, this show nailed whats it was trying to do so well that I have no complaints. Proud to have just weighed in with first review for an anime on this ... site or ever. It's really great that people gather here to share ideas and learn about anime. Excited to continue contributing to a collective representation! No sarcasm I'm just not all that normal
