Citrus (Anime) add
Slightly odd, but personally loved it. It's one of those series where you will personally have to like it for it to make an impact on you. If not, then it can be hit or miss.

I have not read the manga for this one, so the rating is solely off of watching this series. It is really well crafted, honestly. The animation, characters, score, it's all really great. It is a bit slow and it is on the soft and romantic side but it is a good watch.

There were one or two parts that crossed over into odd (fetish-esque) territory, but it was always ...

Another (Anime) add
This series was fantastic through and through. It is beautifully animated, the score is brilliant, the pacing is superb (it's slow fyi). The characters are well-developed, and the plot itself is perfect in a slow-psychological-thriller type of way. I would say that this series caters pretty well to almost any audience type but perhaps is best suited for a mid shojo/josei.

I absolutely love psychological/cerebral types but they can fall into really predictable tropes. This is not true of Another, though. This series will keep you engaged at all times, and will keep throwing information at you that you don't expect. The anticipation is absolutely killer ...

Aku no Hana (Anime) add
There are so many things wrong here. The hyper realistic sounds that sometimes seem underwater, the disturbing dichotomy between overly detailed and simple animation, shockingly slow pace, twitchy transitions, cerebral intensity, overly matured dialogue. All of this makes for a semi-psychedelic nightmare. I almost didn't keep watching at first bc it was actually painful. I am so very glad I persisted because in its entirety this is a work of art. Somehow, all of these different elements came together to create something sort of magical.

This series is haunting. It transports you into a twisted but extremely believable version of reality where these kids grapple ...

It complimented the manga really well, I will give it that. It is really well put together and a fairly enjoyable watch if you are into romantic comedies. Based on the execution alone I would have given it four stars.

However, personally I did not enjoy it very much. It isn't one of my favorite genres to begin with, and nothing really drew me in or kept me engaged. I did watch, but during a lot of parts it was simply background noise bc I struggled to stay focused.

If you like this genre you will like this series. It just was not for me.

I started watching this around 10 pm after reading the crunchyroll 2020 awards. I had already seen some of the series awarded and liked some but didn't like others so it was a mixed bag.

Because of that, I was expecting this series to be decent, but I wasn't really prepared for it to be THIS GOOD. Before I knew it I was knee deep at 3 am. I could seriously not stop watching it.

The animation, storyline, and soundtrack are all gorgeously put together. There is something really captivating by the way this story is told, which makes you want more & more. It has ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (10/13 eps)
Cheesy & endearing... Wow. This show has every theme you can think of, all shoved into one. Dark, light, adventure, love, action, comedy, obscenely overpowered characters, suffocating parents, tons of plot twists, and most of all... SO CHEESY lmao.

Seriously this is one of the most predictable and cheesiest animes I have seen in awhile but it is put together really well, the story is complete and engaging, and the animation is good. The characters are weirdly developed in my opinion with a large mix of focus and storyline. In the end it makes it heart-warming and you can't really hate one it. An enjoyable ...

I hate rating a series that is incomplete because it doesn't feel fair. When/If the rest of this comes out I will try to update this.

As it stands, this is really great so far! Talk about a tasty story line. This twisted thriller/horror/haunted/cult themed shonen is my absolute cup of tea. There is a lot going on with plot development, amazing visuals and sounds, and keeps you engaged throughout. I am excited to see how they develop it from here.

EDIT: This is seriously one of the best modern series I have ever seen. The art is stunning, the music on point, the storyline is ...

Fruits Basket (Anime) add
It had been awhile since I watched this series, but it kept me as enthralled as the first million times I saw it. It truly is the ultimate shojo. Some series of this type are waaay too soft or mushy for me, while also lacking real content. That is the opposite of Fruits Basket. Everything about this series is stellar - ESPECIALLY the character development. Typically very deep character dev doesn't happen for girls or side characters so it is so refreshing to experience this series. There is a lot of emotional growth and reflection on personalities accompanied by funny moments, a supernatural-esque twist, and ...

This is a pretty funny take on a shojo. I really like the comedy, which balances out the more 'mushy' parts of a traditional shojo. The main character has traits that make her strong and diverse while maintaining realism (ie she's "basic", not overly talented without hard work, clumsy but not a vapid airhead, etc.). There are some ~questionable takes in the series (ie age differences), but they are smoothed out really well by wholesome logic that keeps it realistic and not too icky.

The only thing I didn't like was being left with a feeling of incompleteness. Whether it was part of ...
