I’ve been thinking of all the ways I could preface this review bc I actually have good memories of reading this manga but I wouldn’t recommend it for… everyone. Yes, all you heard about it is right! It’s really stressful at times, like stuffing your mouth with habanero (pun very intended). So if you aren’t the type to like these sort of stories, this probably isn’t it. (Although I’ve read even more stressful mangas before, this don’t even come close to the shambles Haru Kiyo left me!)
To those who like the drama and the stress, just as much as spicy food aficionados, PinkHabanero truly is
...
a journey and that’s why it was worth it for me to re-read it since the beginning to prepare for this last chapter. There was a bunch of stuff that I forgot throughout the years and yes, I also wish we could’ve gotten more for the last chapters.
But that doesn’t mean that both Mugi and Kurose didn’t go through their respective journeys. For all the hair-pulling anger that Kurose sometimes sent me or Mugi’s absolute magnet for bad luck, this is a story about how two polar opposites find love and navigate the adversities, whatever may be. Every blushing and “lame side” showcase Kurose have, every victory and motivation Mugi acquires, these moments are precious for me.
This guy comes from a broken family (and this is precisely the part of the story I wished we saw more to draw more parallels over their relationship!) and, in the beginning, never trusted love. Kurose often keeps to himself but he’s also wary as a cat and very direct and honest with what he thinks. It helps when you learn that if he says something, he just means it and Mugi is over-stressing bc she has problems communicating with people.
And this girl just wanted to try her best, living in the shadow of her more popular friend (that goes to another school), trouble following her everywhere she goes. Mugi can be an overthinker, obsess every detail, have mix-places priorities but she’s earnest and good-hearted. People complain about this last part a lot (fair enough) but Kurose, with all his distrust of love, needed someone kind and honest. She may be the most honest troublesome FL I’ve ever seen lol
What could’ve helped the story is maybe an extra focus or two on their changes. I forgot Mugi is the shy type bc she was thrown in so many social problems and made it through, which is amazing considering how her first “new friend” was our first whacky situation.
I’m happy to see them ending like this, though. The ending chapter was quite sweet and a bit chaotic, just how I like them. I’m not into peppers but reading this felt like the adrenaline rush of spice. I couldn’t put it down, chapter after chapter.
I have to left it on Mixed Feelings bc I really can’t recommend this experience so generally, really lmao

This is a very, very short story about a socially invisible girl who ends up doing most of the chores her classmates don't want to and the popular guyTM who acknowledges her but also wants to run away from the pressures of social life, inspiring a cute (and, yes, secret until it can't be contained) friendship to romance scenario. That's it.
tbh it could've been interesting if it was a longer manga, meaning the stories and characters would be more fleshed out. But also, in all honesty and fairness, this is a simple, cute manga that doesn't pretend to reinvent the wheel and fortunately doesn't have
...
a unbearably annoying love rival for the FL. She does exist, yes. But there's not much time for drama or nuisance.
I'm putting it in mixed feelings bc it isn't one of those "read before you die!!! like its that needed in your life" type of stories but it was fine. Just that.

This was so good, wth. Okay, so the ML might not be everyone's cup of tea (he's literally that type of dry, honestly blunt guy) but his dynamic with the FL was so funny and it turned out so precious!
The theme of the story is about how love isn't necessarily in the romantic acts per se. If you love someone, whatever you do together will be fun and make your heart skip a beat. It's about the person behind it and the genuine feelings put into those actions. I thought it was a very good read! Just wish we could have more time
...
with some of the secondary characters but that's okay. Sometimes a good short story is one like this one, without tempting the author with the allure of drama the more the story goes on.
So, if this suits your tastes, please go have a try!

I remember touching this series when I was around 14. A few chapters close to the end, I decided to wait for the finale so I could read all over again, which was good bc there was so much stuff that I missed and that would make the ending (that was, yeah, crazy, to say the bare minimum) feel weird. Tbf, if I were to read again, I would stop around volume 15 or at most, ch74. But that's more bc after all, the ending was bittersweet. Still can't decide if its more bitter than sweet.
That being said, as far as most stories of
...
the genre goes, it's as solid as it could have been. In reality, I would've give a raw 7.5 but even with all my feelings, Noragami is still closer to 8 than simply 7. For the art, for the characters, for most of the amazing set ups and creative use of Japanese folklore. I'll always treasure this story, feeling like Hiyori as she embraces Yato and Yukine after she gets them back together.
Believe, you WILL cry. A lot. But you'll also laugh and experience a lot of great things as well. Yeah, it could be worst but I'm grateful that it isn't. I'll never forget you, Noragami.

Honestly, there's nothing to add to the compliments to Nana and Sudaka as main couple. Yes, they're precious, wholesome and an absolute gold mine of romance that's so hard to find in most shoujo romances. This manga is short but everything works in its favor. So yes, give it a shot! Don't be afraid! That being said, you will have that immediate "oh no" feeling when the 2nd ML appears... and that's what I want to touch upon (no spoilers)!
Shouya Kida is an ANGEL. You'll get scared but rest assured, you don't need to sweat it. He's now my favorite 2nd ML just bc he
...
doesn't create unnecessary drama and is well aware of the circumstances, having a little arc of his own that really important and showcases one of the story themes of friendship. I'm so glad that the author didn't made him suffer without reason bc that kind of drama in such a short manga would feel rushed and pointless. Kida's presence isn't pointless. Rather it is an interesting parallel to Sudaka himself in some aspects.
And that's it. Please, give this sweet manga a shot! You won't regret it <3

Came first from the anime (which was amazing!) then, at start of season 2, I decided to take on the manga so I wouldn't die of curiosity. Best decision of my life.
Yes, this story is bananas. Pun-half-intended. I say from experience that if you managed to survive any work of Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha), you can take on this. People compare it a lot with Chainsaw Man but I felt huge Rumiko vibes due to some similar plot things lol
But it truly isn't for everybody's normal tastes. From my point of view, Dan Da Dan is a huge homage to sci-fi and
...
horror genre with a nice and well-measure touches of "I'll write whatever I want, damnit!" of the author. I also love how even the big cast isn't overbearing and they're used in balance!
It's entertaining, that's my summary.

I remember being so over the moon about this manga back when it was still being released and, in the end, my little time far way permitted me to re-read the whole thing again until the very ending arc that I couldn't catch in time of release. It was worth it. At some point though, I thought it was all in vain but the ending was surprisingly good for my eyes, as a Saint Seiya fan.
Saintia Sho combines the best of "Saint Seiya spin-off" feels (I mainly use TLC as comparision here) and the original beats made by Masami Kurumada himself. Also the artwork has
...
to be the most beautiful of the entire franchise!
What surprised me about the plot, especially after reading back to back, is that Kuori Chimaki managed to make this its own story while following the steps of the original, without feeling like it's a defective carbon copy or it's taking the shine away from its deserving veterans. While some people also complained that Chimaki was using the gold saints to "appease" og fans, I feel they're well utilized here and their presence are mostly a necessity given the gravity of the thing. It might not be 100% perfect, sure, but they have a marvellous place in the story. It's through some of the familiar faces of the og cast that Saori and the girls find their source of inspiration to go fourth while being the group that the og cast is casting their hope in this moment, without taking anything from the bronze boys.
The battle structure felt repetitive at times for me but it's probably bc I've finished reading TLC gaiden and... it's part of the Saint Seiya formula, that's for sure. Reading this makes the anime adaptation feel a lot more of a "fumble of the bag" than I could ever consider (the opening song rocks tho)! But that's Toei for you and also a sign that this is truly a SS story with every right.
I'll wait more to read the spin-off but I'm satisfied with the way things turned out. Again, as a long time fan of the original and of this manga in particular, this was a fun time actually.
Love, from a Brazilian fan <3

I watched the anime version first (which have a perfect adaptation of most of the chapters here, if I'm not mistaken, since it's been a long long time) and maybe that's what compelled me to just give a 6 here but 7 for the anime. I guess it's that few chapters "missing" lol But despite that, being a "fine" manga isn't nothing to be ashamed of! The plot is simple and short, perfect to relieve your mind of serious things and just appreciate the out-of-pocket yet always creative CLAMP way of doing things
This is certainly was a good read for me. I just feel like
...
the story could be longer like the animated version!

In the grand scheme of things when it comes to continuations of popular, old-school even, mangas/animes, at least I can properly say that Clear Card wasn't a complete waste of time and a systematic character assassination (at least everybody seemed pretty consistent with their old selves, imo and there was no crazy behaviors). Because, believe me, there's no shortage of that in other sequels.
That being said, I kinda understand now why it left a lot of people with mixed feelings. I have my couple of complaints as well. Sequels are often hit or miss but, more often than not, they don't have much going on
...
that justify their existence. Clear Card had a lot of potential up to some point, I would say around 60~70 is where things start to fall apart bit by bit. Nothing extreme tbh but I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm completely happy with the decisions. Then again, CLAMP has this little problem sometimes that after complicating a plot too much, their solution is to complicate more and hope for the best. And I feel like the plot would benefit more of having a proper villain. An actual proper villain. Not "oh, I troubled you but it was to help in the long run", because that would make this the actual third time that happens (though with Yue, it's a bit more complicated...). I had this faith within me but the writers had other plans and now it doesn't make a difference to complain too much about it.
But it's a solid sequel. Worth the development style of an already beautiful art style, cool concepts and an opportunity to see Sakura and Syaoran, and the others, just one last time. But if you want to pass, it's okay! You... well, you aren't missing too much, that's the bittersweet part.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that the "Swordsmith Village Arc" was not my personal favorite arc in Demon Slayer but I still had some things I liked and appreciated about it. That being said... the anime in general got me thinking that every arc has something especial to it, that's why every season feels "a bit different" from the later. But I like that. It means we're growing with Tanjiro and going through all kinds of adventures and story arcs with him and the others. Seeing it animated actually made me like this arc a little more. It may not be my most favorite
...
but I don't think it's bad by any means.
Every season has its ups and downs, but that's not new for your average anime viewer. This arc is a "middle story" that might not be exciting as S2 or interesting as S1 but it's still it's own thing and has importance for the story. As a manga reader, I think Ufotable is adapting the story in a amazing way and I can't wait for the rest of it.
8/10 with absolute no regret.
