You aren't ready for the ending...

It seems rather innocent in the beginning. But don't give up.

If you are confused about what's going on, and how this universe works, that's intentional. It works you into the story. Starts you off slowly, and introduces different concepts and characters that you should pay attention to. I will admit, it may be difficult to see where the story is going at times.

The two protagonists are great complements of each other, and offer comedic relief at times when necessary. They do very much drive the story forward, and you will feel yourself becoming connected to them. ...

The art style is unique and refreshing. I like that it's something different, while at the same time, managing animations almost flawlessly. It's not at the same level as AOT or DS, but it does things better than most.

One last thing I will say, I loved the concept of this story. It's difficult to talk about this too much without giving away the story. If you enjoy mysteries and time travel, you will love this. This for me was a true masterpiece, no question. It kept me and my wife on the edge of our seats, so much so, where we were staying up late (with an infant child) to continue watching.

No major spoilers, promise. But I need to rant.

I don't know where to start. This is a story about the past, where they CONSTANTLY reference the past. It's not so bad, at first. But the past becomes so much of a regular it feels almost like I missed the main story and am watching the aftermath story. Which is ok, so if that's what the author went for, I applaud you.

Frieren is probably my least favorite protagonist character ever. She has zero development over a hundred years she's exactly the same then as is she now. Which if that's so, and she lives ... so long, why am I watching this? Incredibly boring character with no agenda. The supporting characters are decent, but they don't do enough to make this worth anything.

I just don't see the hype. It's definitely different, and if that's what you're seeking, this is right up your alley. But otherwise I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I loved all aspects of this anime. At least season 1.

The first 4 episodes were honestly amazing. Talk about riveting, and nerve racking. I knew this was a highly anticipated anime, but wow. Of all the anime I watched and rated, there isn't a better opening few episodes. The main character grows and changes so fast you feel like you end up watching a different character half way through. And by episode 8... You'll be fully invested.

This is another anime that moves very fast, and I'm totally cool with that. It's not like JK2, where you get lost along the way. They do a ... good job keeping you informed of what's happening, without spoiling TOO much.

I saw the negative reviews, and I don't get it lol. Someone was saying it's too cliché, like, ok then go watch a mystery lol, there's nothing not to like about this, I promise you. If you like action Shonen fast passed anime, with zero filler, you will LOVE this.

If you're looking for a no filler, action packed easy to understand anime, look no further.

I don't really agree with the AOT comparison, but can see why people like to compare it to that. There's so much to like about KN8. The main protagonist has a lot of humor, and is has vibes of Naruto about him. Just a genuine, likable character that lacks average potential, but is enjoyable to watch progress. Speaking of progressing; one thing that was really enjoyable about this story, was the side characters. They come into their own as ... the story continues and it was a refreshing to see their development. This is also an anime with zero dull moments. There was almost no episode where something crazy wasn't happening. Wonder how they'll continue that in the future lol, but I thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of it. The story just has action after action packed episodes that leave you on the edge of your seat.

I saw some say the story was predictable, but I also disagree. It has quite a few plot twists along the way.

I recommend not reading any detailed synopsis, I think it's better going in without knowing TOO much. Let the anime surprise you on it's own (this was the main reason I left this so vague).

I watch a ton of anime, rate them on here, and almost never write a review. I had to let my frustrations out on this one...

Spoiler Free. It's almost maddening how scrambled this plot is. I'm legit shocked how high people are rating this. Yes, the art, animation, and fighting is amazing. But the story, it's all over the place. Like, how did they mess this up lol. I recommend that anyone who didn't watch the movie (Jujutsu Kaisen 0) to start there after season 1 before even touching this. Even then, prepare to be introduced to characters who you'll have no idea who they ... are, and then will take over half the season. But wait. They'll toss them aside, introduce more characters, expect you to understand their story and backgrounds, and make you watch unnecessary filler that is meaningless to the story. Some are battles, so it's fine because it's cool to watch. But it really doesn't contribute to the overall story. One thing that season 2 does so horribly is make transitions from one story (or character) to another. Especially in the later episodes, you'll be wishing for more of the mains and less of the randoms.

I didn't read the manga, but is this really what the author had in mind? Maybe they should have slowly introduced them in a different way?

The fighting and action is fantastic, but I left feeling more puzzled about the story then when I started watching. This easily could have been a 9 or 10 for me with better direction and writing.
