This show is definitely in the running for one of my top personal top anime shows ever, and even one of the best shows period.

It's ability to seamlessly blend expert storytelling, with character development and world-building, all done by showing rather than telling is something that just hits different, as far as anime is concerned.

The animation and soundtrack is next level, I've been listening to the soundtrack lately as I write my book I'm working on and it gets me incredibly zoned it.

I feel like epic is an understatement, because everything in this show works together so well, including its ability to get you ... hooked on the mundane aspects of their journey, it's nothing short of a masterpiece.

All the characters are so interesting, and provide extremely complimentary foils to one another. Their idiosyncrasies make them all the more charming, unlike annoying in many other shows.

The fight scenes and animation is crazy, and even the fluidity and movement of the characters bespeak their subtle emotions and feelings.

The pacing of this show is amazing, and it feels so relaxing to watch. Couldn't recommend this one enough. If you were looking to watch an anime with someone who isn't used to it, this would be my #1 recommendation. I can't speak highly of it enough.

Light hearted, fun loving, and funny.

This is a great show to relax to and shut your brain off

It's pretty funny, and heart-warming at the same time. It's a fun example of having multiple girlfriends, obviously the harem thing has been done before but the plot in this, and the earnestness of being a good boyfriend to all his girlfriends makes this feel more real

For the most part the characters reactions are pretty realistic, given their stereotypes. Karin's flip flopping between tsundere and yandere is really cute, as are the idiosyncrasies of the other characters as well.

Art style is fitting, and if you're looking for something ... fun I think you'll enjoy it

Really enjoying this, it has some of my favorite themes

Strategy/psychology, music, and going for what you want.

I also like how it's fresh, and is an interesting story which combines time travel, with the above mentioned themes

The relationship between the characters feels good and I love the strategies Koumei implements. They seem like they would work in real life and it's inspiring to see EIKO's journey of growth

I find this to be personally inspiring and relatable bc I make music as well, and it goes to show how much can be achieved when you have someone/ people who truly believe in you, and the power of ... faith. Combined with Koumei's genius in this story you can pave the way to success

I would love to be able to think in the way Koumei does. Love the show so far

Didn't know what this was until I just saw it on AnimeCorner's top 10 of the week, and just binged all 3 episodes that are out

I found myself laughing out loud at the very first scene in the first episode, and knew this was gona be good

This is what good comedic anime is, the fact that the team is called "Gelato 5" and the enemy is this Dark princess who really is just such a sweetheart on the inside is perfectly over the top

While this anime is clearly not taking itself too seriously, and it's not the first or last spin off the "Romeo and ... Juliet" plot line, the romance hits you in the feels. The voice acting is superb and I feel like they captured the characters perfectly with the art style as well

This anime "comes alive", and you feel so immersed in the character interactions

I almost would say this is close to Kaguya Sama: Love is war this season, in terms of entertainment value and comedy. Both of them are absolutely hilarious and Kaguya Sama in particular I think is raising the bar for comedic anime as a whole, with this being a result of that increase in standard :)

P.S. In addition to Kaguya Sama, this is also coming close to Shokugeki no Souma in entertainment/ comedy value, and that show in my mind is the gold standard and a Masterpiece. One of my favorite anime of all time, so that goes to show how much I'm enjoying this and Kaguya. Absolutely great entertainment

Everyone complaining about how unrealistic it is that a shy MC gets the best "waifu of the season" sounds hypocrtical to me.

In fact that's one of my main issues with anime, is how it unrealistically shows shy guys getting all the baddies. But this is not at all unique to this show, so let's stop pretending that it is.

In fact, western movies and media are also guilty of this same crime. I think a lot of it has to do with modern "third wave" feminism but that's completely beyond the scope of this review.

For what this show is going for, it does well. It is ... entertaining, the interactions are fun to watch, the art style is enjoyable and the voice acting is spot on. The depiction of the world of cosplay is pretty cool, and I'm giving it an 8 out of 10. More enjoyable than almost every other show on right now, aside from Demon Slayer and AOT

Not going to lie watching this anime is enjoyable, and puts a smile on my face while watching

It's definitely got moments that are good and I don't regret watching it, HOWEVER

I think this show is overrated, because watching the same jokes gets played out and tired

Each episode we are continually reminded that "just because someone isn't good at communicating doesn't mean they don't want to" lol ok ok we get it

I know its relatable for a lot of people, and it's funny how the class idolizes her, but it gets repetitive. It's like people misinterpret her, they think her silence means something profound, then ... they worship her, and it's the same cycle over and over

I have to say they do a good job of recycling the same jokes, but after awhile it feels redundant

Also at a certain point I just want her to get with it, she has the same emotionless expression on her face throughout the whole show, or the cartoonish bug eyed version, it's just a little too much. If someone was behaving like this in real life they'd put them with the "special" kids, it's past the point of feeling bad for her and rooting for her into wtf territory on the verge of just being outright annoying like "wipe that dumb look off your face"

The fact that all the kids in her school unanimously worship her for this behavior just says theres something wrong with them too

Like I said I like the show, but I think it's overrated which is why I'm giving it an over all 7/10

The phrase "this had no business being this good" comes to mind

Started this since there was nothing else interesting to watch

Slowly as the story unfolds, especially in episode 10, the things the characters are experiencing feel so relatable

the use of the simple yet unique backdrop of the aquarium to tell the story of their dreams and coming of age is great, the fact that the characters have depth and are multifaceted is engaging

Fuuka, who dreamt of being an idol, is still quite reserved and shy, described as being naive and overextending herself, is introduced by embodying the height of selflessness, allowing her junior to take ... her spot as the main idol in her group.

She is sad but allows her destiny to bring her to Gama Gama and Kukuru where she makes the best of it, letting go of the pain of her dream fading.

By episode 10 though, it seems as though her detachment and good heart allows her another opportunity, since her junior calls her up telling her that some producers want to cast her as a star of a new movie.

She is conflicted, saying "hasnt life given me great things" as if to say "should I even be aspiring to a goal like this" which seems almost more vain than her personality suggests

I love the imagery of the heels floating in the ocean at the end, signifying her dream of being an idol sinking to the bottom of the sea

the rest of the cast adds to the dynamic between Kukuru and Fuuka, who's relationship is also endearing and realistic to me. Kukuru's reaction to the closing of the aquarium and the decisions each character makes, the way they act is all very real

The art and music just make this even better, simply put this show is something special, highly recommend if you are in the mood for something slower like this

Wasn't even aware this was a "Shojo" although it does center around a female MC

I thought Shojo was romance, this has romance but that's not the main sauce. If anything it's an adventure story, focusing on a princess who leaves the sheltered life of the castle walls, to take the destiny of her kingdom into her own hands, in her own way

There were a few episodes and parts of this show that dragged along, and sometimes her lack of ability to do anything got played out and annoying, but the part where she finally shoots the arrow to kill Kum -Ji was ... worth it. Such a sick moment.

All her struggling pays off in the culmination of that moment and the mission leading up to it.

Definitely some emotional parts of the show, and laughs too. Just an all around great and enjoyable watch.

There were parts that dragged a bit too long, or the pacing was off-- which is why I'm not giving it a 9. It's close though


Really loved the episode where Soo Won visits the earth tribe, and sets things up so that the tribe prospers, unbeknownst to their leader who thinks Soo Won is a "rabbit who will get eaten by a tiger"


Really hope they come out with a 2nd season, and also for more plot points like this. Love watching Intrigues and power plays, it's why I love "Borgias" with Jeremy Irons

If there were more well-done episodes like this I'd give this show a 9 for sure. The closest thing we got was Kum-ji's arc

This series was outstanding, a really great surprise.

Had heard of it before but didn't spark my interest from the cover art/synopsis, but read a Youtube comment that had a bunch of likes about it being someone's favorite anime so I had to check it out

It was just a joy to watch this, start to finish, the characters, story, interactions, had a perfect balance of adventure, sci fi elements, and it made me emotional

Not going to lie I had tears rolling down my face multiple times from the emotions it brought out

The music was superb and I turned my speakers up louder so I could really ... enjoy it.

The voice acting was also immaculate.

Really all around a top notch anime, the only slight thing I could even point out as a possible negative is the lack of realism of the way things panned out in the end, but this is an anime and I totally accept that suspending your disbelief is expected in a show like this.

I'm usually not even particularly even into sci fi but this just had so many elements going for it, including the mystery of who the "betrayer" was, and also each episode's cliffhangers were epic so I binged the whole show

The last thing is the characters are extremely well designed and likeable, and the way their feelings change and the flashbacks to their pasts and shared trauma they all endured just hits you in the feels

Loved the art and style and really just so glad that the writers, musicians, artists, VA's and everyone's talents shined so well in this it was just absolutely amazing.

This started off promising, the Ice Witch vs. the Swordsman, and their impending Romeo and Juliet dynamic.

After awhile though it became played out, they didn't take it anywhere interesting, while there were tons of opportunities to, and there were a bunch of episodes and plot points that just fell flat.

While the first few episodes with the whole tsundere thing were kind of charming, it's just been done before, and better imo (with Zero no tsukaima being the one that stands out as the best tsundere romance, but there are literally tons of them).

The entire cast lacks character development, embodying one dimensional stereotypes commonly thrown together ... in shows like these, with no depth and as a viewer, no sense of caring about what happens to them.

This is one of my biggest issues with storytelling in general. At no point do you get sucked into the story if you can't relate to the characters and feel for them.

Even the main two Iska and the Ice Calamity witch are one dimensional, staying true to the stereotype of tsundere and logical, good hearted and "gentlemanly hero"

I just simply lost interest by the end of the season, and forgot I had even seen the last episode until I just opened it up again since I have nothing else to watch lol
