Greetings,
My profile picture's art symbolizes what I search in Japanese entertaintment - happiness and enjoyment, energy, cuteness, beauty. For me personally, all of these things are a source for peace of mind and enjoyment of life. To a degree they are also a form of escapism from that which can be very difficult, the almighty reality. In more simpler terms, I like
moe, as it brings me happiness.

What I described earlier is the main reason why I'm into anime in general, but there are various other things I find enjoyable in anime in particular. For example, I appreciate
manzai, or in other words the straightman (tsukkomi) and the idiot (boke) act often present in comedy anime - I never seem to get tired of seeing a good manzai act such as the ones in Bakemonogatari and Gintama. I also enjoy the way how most anime shows aim to bring entertaintment through it's characters - I always need some kind of character who I can relate to or just simply like a lot, to be able to enjoy a piece of entertainment. There is certainly no shortage of anime characters with loveable, unique or just simply interesting personalities. Anime such as Durarara! and Lucky Star are good examples of anime with highly enjoyable characters.
I try to be a productive fan and buy all the Japanese video games I play and can get my hands on without too much difficulty (these days anyway, now that I've had some kind of an usable income). I also buy a lot of merchandise of anime shows or rather, of characters I love. My room has dozens of figures, a dakimakura, posters, oppai pad, some other things too. Admittedly, I don't know how much of the money I pay for this merhandise goes to the anime / game makers though. Although I do own some, I'm not too keen on buying anime dvd and especially blu-ray, they are just way too expensive.
I've been into Japanese culture for 10 years or so, and for the past few years my interest has largely been on Touhou instead of anime, after that on Kantai Collection. I've also been getting into game series such as the Atelier series (Atelier Totori is my personal favourite) and Hyperdimension Neptunia. I've also imported some games and visual novels directly from Japan, such as Kud Wafter (+18 PC edition). Kantai Collection is my biggest obsession at the moment, even though I'm not even planning to watch the anime of it (I have my reasons for it).
My ratings of anime are a sign of my enjoyment only, and I use a personal rating scale of 4-10.
