This Magic file enlightens you about the story that led to Ran karate-kicking a football in the past and Shinichi's inappropriate comment (as mentioned in the Eleventh Striker). Unlike some of the other Magic files, you can enjoy this one without having watched the movie.

It's set in the time when Shinichi and Ran were in middle school. Like the movie, the overall theme is football (a.k.a. soccer if you're not European). It starts with Shinichi loosing his football championship in a very close match. Shortly after the game the football team discovers that someone broke in their club house and wrote a critique about ... every player on the blackboard. Shinichi starts investigating the case.
As usual with the side stories, it adds more depth to the characters and their relationship to each other. This one highlights Shinichi's gentlemanly personality traits and his feelings for Ran.

I found this magic file very sweet and fun to watch. The pacing is good, you won't get bored although there isn't a proper case with someone being murdered or kidnapped or whatever (haha!). It blends in with the original manga style. It feels like that it could be a one shot done by Aoyama-sensei.

I would recommend it to anyone who loves the characters of DC and likes to know more about their past.

Another great story by Natsume Isaku. This shonen-ai/yaoi actually has a proper plot. The main characters are not stereotypical for this genre which makes the story interesting and intriguing.

Ryu is the heir of a yakuza, strong-willed, loyal and a fierce fighter - everything the future leader should be. But he doesn't want to inherit the title because he wants to live a normal life with his childhood friend and love interest Naoki.
Naoki is very reserved, cynical and doesn't reciprocate Ryu's feelings. The story is written from Naoki's point of view and follows him as he grows as a person.

The art is less bishonen, more ... shonen actually. But what makes this story intriguing is the chemistry between the main characters Ryu and Naoki. They are not your normal mainstream shonen-ai/yaoi couple. If you are familiar with Natsume Isaku's work you will know that this is kind of her style. The uke is really masculine in some ways whilst the seme has feminine personality traits. This gives the dialogue/interaction between those two an interesting and funny twist. Natsume Isaku is a genius in characterisation through very simply and subtle ways, whether it's through her drawings or the dialogue. Naoki's standoffishness and Ryu's desire for his 'Nao' literally jump out of the page.

I really enjoy Natsume Isaku's mangas and this one is definitely one of her best. If you like shonen-ai/yaoi that has a proper plot and is funny, touching and sweet then you might want to give this a shot.

As usual with the Magic Files, this one gives you more background story of the respective movie, Full Score of Fear. It tells you about the fight Shinichi and Ran had (which is mentioned in the movie) and the significance of the song 'Amazing grace'.

The story centers around Shinichi in his Middle-school and a case he is solving by himself. Whilst investigating, he gets into a fight with Ran because of her superstitions and they stop talking to each other for a week.

Of course, Shinichi ends up solving the case. His parents are also featured which I enjoyed very much. I simply love the ... Kudo family, they are so funny and do not appear enough in my opinion. Though I know this isn't canon material I still enjoy seeing what Shinichi was like before his transformation to Conan.

The art is somewhat strange to look at but overall a nice magic file for the fans of DC.

This is my first review so don't be too hard on me ^_^

This is a short side story featuring the four Hachiyou of Heaven: Yorihisa, Takamichi, Eisen and Inori.
There is not much plot going on, it's more character driven. They paired up Yorihisa & Takamichi, Eisen & Inori. Without giving away too much, a minor incident happens and the 'pairs' suspect each other for committing the 'crime'. Since they're all friends it's hilarious to watch them squirm in discomfort when confronting the other, particularly Yorihisa & Takamichi because both of them are sooo polite!

The shoujo element is really strong here, borderline shounen-ai in ... my opinion. Slow-motion sparkly moments for each character, a few blushes here and there, the male characters bonding...(especially Yorihisa & Takamichi) XD

I enjoyed this side story very much. Though it has nothing to do with the main story line it's quite entertaining. If you liked the main series you are going to enjoy this as well.
