I never thought I would see the day when a doujinshi would have an entertaining story. Especially a doujinshi about Evangelion. I'm not one of those Eva fans that felt End Of Evangelion was not a satisfying conclusion to the series, but I have to say that Re-Take does an exceptional job of having the same flow as the official series (as if Anno wrote it himself) and give a rather satisfying alternative conclusion to the series.
The focus this time though is more on the romance than anything else, which is mostly good than bad. The art stays true to the original, even on

the action content. Character development (though focused on Shinji and Asuka) is a little strange at first if you dwell too much on the original (which you will), but soon will make sense and more. And yes there are some hentai scenes in this which do disrupt the overall flow the story, but you soon learn that the hentai goes hand in hand with what's occuring in the story so you become more accepting to the scenes... a bit. = P
So as it has been said over and over, if you're a Evangelion fan who just can't get enough, look no further than Re-Take. You will most likely not be disappointed at all.
