Started out great. First episode was interesting. Some good character development and interesting companions. But the writers had a check list of tropes and were sure to cover them all. I lost count. "Oh. This again." "Oh man, saw that a mile away." "Oh look, a masochist." And on and on and on. I kept watching until episode 7. 6 was one of the worst episodes of any anime I have seen in ages. 7? 100% unoriginal, marginally better than 6. We're at the bottom of the bel curve and not getting any better. Plus it looks like the animators just don't care - it's

I'm a fan of fantasy and Isekai. This season I think there's 10 on my list. And you know what? They are all the same. It takes a few minutes of each episode to think "Oh yea - this is the one where...." That's how generic this series is. If you were to count overused tropes in anime, you'd stop counting at 20 because it's so ridiculous.
The animation quality is decent, but there are many scenes that look like they were added later by sub-par animators. For example, the last episode there's a scene where a woman transports a man (I'm keeping it ... Dec 24, 2021

The series was a rollercoaster - excellent art and sound, alternated with some lousy, shallow characters and rushed plots. Each chapter created loose ends and open-ended plots. I kept coming back because of the art and overall quality, but honestly the final episode crapped all over the first 11 episodes. OP bosses that simply gave up. The entire totally-idiotic "here's what really happened" story, and the cliff-hanger nonsensical ending where the producers count on a 2nd season to complete anything. 11 episodes of being strung along then given a big middle-finger. Dropped my rating from a 9 to a 1. Watch the 12 episodes for

Look, when I find myself laughing out loud watching an otherwise forgettable anime, it's doing something right. That over-sexed masochistic dragon lady is unoriginal, over the top, and probably the single funniest character I've seen in ages. I binged this series over a couple of days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, it's another iseki harem show with the cookie-cutter troop of anime chicks. Ms flat chest, ms big boob, the ditz, little kid..... nothing original there. Although the bunny babe is OP and also entertaining.
OK - some of the CGI animation was pure crap. But the sound and voice acting was pretty darn good. I ... Mar 6, 2021

This is the first Anime I have watched in ages that had zero violence, zero swearing, and was simply about fun. They even managed to keep almost everything free of sexual tension. The last episode has a very "Dusk Maiden" final episode feel to it. Overall a really enjoyable and fun anime.
Sure, there's the usual tropes, big-bouncy-boobed boss babe, idiot boss, crazy amount of time spent on cooking and eating, fluffy foxy fox, lonely guy - they're all here. The story still managed to keep me watching. Binged it in a couple of days. It's sweet, warm and fuzzy and a break from your (well, my) ... Aug 10, 2020
Kuutei Dragons

Picture "Carnival Eats" meets Nausicaä with some influence from Moby Dick. Every episode is food heavy with bizarre eats, usually in tandem with killing a dragon. The motivation for everyone is basically "Fly, kill, eat. Repeat." Backgrounds are hinted at but never fleshed out. Most characters are really one dimensional, and the leads are boilerplate. At least the anime is entertaining.
The best part is the dragons. Each new one is more interesting and original, from abilities to appearance. The Anime is 100% CGI, and while that makes for some lack of details, it really takes advantage of it when it comes to epic shots, sweeping ... Jan 16, 2020

I was picking random shows and had been skipping over this one for a long while. Decided to finally watch it. Wow. Now I know where "Love and Robots" and "Black Mirror" got their inspiration. This is a plot driven series. There's no action, no sky-beams. Just evolution of two races that leaves you wondering which is the better of the two, and opening up a dilemma about robots as slaves. It's not preachy or social commentary. You see the robots as people pretty quickly. I just wish there was more of this gem to watch.
There's not a lot of effort spent on the ... Jul 4, 2017

The concept had promise. Then reality came along. The first couple of episodes jumped from dialogue right out of a Hentai to Ecchi and back again. For a while it looked like it was going to be loli Ecchi, then the director changed his mind. Then went back, then tossed in the towel and tossed in some of the worst drawn automatons to pollute the airwaves.
Then there's the gears. 6 billion to make one loli robot. Need to make gears?Wear a suit and dance naked in VR to a golden flower and create them from nothing. Seriously. WTF. It's just so totally screwy that all enjoyment ... Feb 28, 2017

The first half was great. Original, good story, decent characters. Then it started to fall apart. This screams "We read history, but don't know the culture!" It's just plain idiotic in many places. Second half: Some of the animation is just terrible - it looks like they switched writers and animators midway. Example - noses look like boulders. Hadaly Lilith's chest profile when she's at the helm looks like a 12 year old was the artist - literally sticking a foot out from the front and resembling Hot-Wheel ramps. So idiotic it was distracting, and not in a good way. It soon becomes "Forrest Gumpish"

The plot is original, and although many characters are cookie-cutter, they were still engaging. Super-mega-gigantic-BDO's fight battles instead of armies. But who's behind the scenes? What's the real reason? There's political intrigue, the usual light sexual humor, plenty of explosions and lots of fun to be had.
When our daring duo of Object killers dialogue, it reminds me of Spice and Wolf. The technology is futuristic, but not too much - it's all very believable. The world is made up of four super powers, all with objects. There are also fractures among the powers that be, so civil war and even corporate infighting using objects occurs. ... |
