I enjoyed this anime quite a lot. It examines the human condition and spirit as well as the philosophy of life and war and society. If you're looking to reflect it may be an anime for you. If you like Eva I would recommend watching this.
What I liked: Art style was superb. Rich colors and character design brought this world to life. Good story setting and decent progression. Characters develop and have life and emotion in their animation and voice. Voice actors are top notch in the original. OST is bright during downtime and suspenseful during action shots.
What I didn't like: CGI models being used.
