I was actually pretty stoked to watch this anime when it was announced. Probably much of the excitement stemmed from the innovative storyline and interesting characters I had encountered when reading the manga, but good gosh golly was I in for a rude awakening!
The art and visual animation is abhorrent to say the very least. I haven't been this disappointed to see a manga to anime translation since Kengan Ashura. At least the Kengan Ashura anime had CGI mostly in only the fights and the CGI was cringy (as compared to the manga), but passable. The horrendous attempt at animation with this train wreck made

One of the few anime whose manga I wasn't even aware of. It started off pretty well and was engrossing for the first couple o' episodes, but I eventually lost interest in the plot as a whole. The last few episodes were a drag that I just watched so as to finish up on the season.
The character development was a saving grace for me. Combining that aspect with the modern, yet classical feel, I managed to get through the entire season in one piece. I got some similar vibes to BL type anime, sort of like a Seraph of the End/07-Ghost meets an Ecchi ... |
