Despite there are more "immediate" anime like Oregairu i think that Beastars shares some crucial points with said anime. First of all we have the love triangle and the school setting which is definitly something common in many anime of this sort. What really made me think of beastars while rewatching Oregairu were the similarities between the two MCs. If Hikki's personality alone was able to make Oregairu a step ahead most other school anime, you will surely like Legoshi and the way the copes with his atypical high school social relations.
