I have to say, this is one of the best anime I have ever seen. I've always neglected watching Naruto because of how big it is, but I finally took a chance, and finished it within 3 days because of how amazing the story development was. And now, Naruto Shippuuden is even better.
Story - 9
First of all, this an amazingly thought out story. From the history to the jutsu (ninja abilities), it all connected so well. The provided explanations for how the characters execute their abilities, it just can't compare to one piece, with how you eat some devil's fruit and gain powers. I understand
...
the stories are completely different, and one piece is one of my favorites, but Naruto is just so much better when it comes to being realistic, to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if there were actually ninja who could mold chakra in this world. Also, Naruto (shippuuden) is not one of those anime where the main characters are always able to win against an enemy. But that's what I love about it, and with how the main chars aren't just given massive powers from the start. They have to work for their skills. And even in the most dire situations, they aren't able to get past it.
Art - 10
Unlike "modern day" anime such as SAO, the character profiles aren't just smooshed at the mouth, nor are the nostrils just magically not there. All parts of anatomy are present! Other than that, the art is amazing, especially in battle scenes. Just watch it. You can understand what I mean.
Sound - 10
One of the main things that makes this anime so good is the ost and op... and the necessary, icky, but realistic, sound of weapons piercing flesh. The openings are really suitable to the anime, and it's a nice selection of music. Especially OP 3 (watch the anime to hear what it sounds like! don't just go to google). And then there's the sound tracks of the animation. Probably one of the best I've heard. Although each OST is suited to their situation and/or scene, it's mainly the sad tracks that wow me. They convey the perfect feeling of sorrow, whilst at the same time emulating the theme of Naruto. What I mean is, at sad moments, you feel sad, and it sounds like a typical Japanese instrument, which, in the Naruto time period, that's what people would be using. Tabun.
Character - 10
Here we go! Well, actually, to see the char development you'd have to start from Naruto, when they were actually... developing. But from the start of Naruto to Shippuuden, the characters never fail to amaze me. If you had seen Naruto, you would assume the evil characters are just evil, the side characters are just boring, and the main characters are just the epitome of justice. No. All of the characters have another side to them, and I hadn't known that until watching Shippuuden. Even the side chars. Down to their family history, all of the characters are just so well developed. I hadn't even known (***spoiler*** well it's not that important anyway) Asuma was Sarutobi-sensei's son until season 2. Not to mention, who would have thought Naruto's teacher would be some perverted hermit, instead of a clean, know-it-all peacemaker. Like Konohamaru's teacher, you know, the guy with the glasses. JK.
Enjoyment - 9
I thoroughly enjoyed the anime the whole time, EXCEPT the fillers. Definitely not the fillers. eaughh. That doesn't mean all the fillers though. I just mean those fillers that don't show any character development, just another mission, or another waste of time. But that's only a small fragment of the anime. Shippuuden that is. For those of you who have seen Naruto, remember that massive section of fillers? Again, eaughh.
Overall - 10...00000000

I admit, I don't usually watch these types of anime, with all the blood and everything. But I have to say I really enjoyed watching SnK, because even though the first episode gave me goosebumps, it's the type of anime that makes you want to keep watching.
Story: 8/10
I like how it's about titans, or giants, which I don't see a lot in anime. That by itself was interesting enough, but then there's the group that fights against the titans. The technology they use seems really advanced, considering the year the story is set in (800's). And then you see the main character's father telling him
...
something in his dreams and it gives it a really mysterious feeling, which also adds to the excitement and makes you want to watch more.
Art: 9/10
The art is more realistic than most anime, but not even close to real life. It has a lot of dimension and detail, especially the backgrounds. It's cool to watch all the soldiers jump through the houses with special gear because it's really good quality for the art. The only down side is that the characters are really thickly outlined, which kind of makes it look weird. I think someone mentioned this in a different review.
Sound: 10/10
There aren't really any problems with the sound. The character voices fit well and nothing else is wrong. No complaints.
Character: 9/10
The characters are each individually unique, and they fulfill their purpose. There are some parts that are like a typical ordinary-kid-turns-into-hero anime but also some unexpected things the characters do. I don't really have anything to say about this section, but no complaints either.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I have to give this section a 9 because of my own personal problems, because I'm not good with anything creepy or has parts with really defined killing, so I admit while I was watching I was curled up in a ball hugging a pillow getting goosebumps when I saw an arm drop from a giant's mouth. But even then, I still think this is one of the most exciting anime I've ever seen. It thoroughly shows each character's past, which then transforms into their reason for fighting, and I just wanted to see what would happen amidst all the excitement.
Overall: 9/10
It's a really interesting anime that will surely keep you hanging on the edge of your seat.

I was pretty skeptical about this at first, and I don't watch much anime that are "slice-of-life" either. The first episode didn't seem really interesting, other than the fact that it was about jellyfish. Just a bunch of middle-aged otakus, that were girls, but lacked a lot of femininity so I was kind of disappointed since I thought it would be boring. What I didn't really like was that it was lacking some romance. Also it felt like things really got started only during the last couple episodes because it's not just the romance bit, but also when the main character finally started to shine.
...
But even so, it was a really enjoyable anime to watch.
I like how each character's personality is unique, both the otakus and the opposing party. There were parts with the character getting jealous that made me scream "kyaa!!" that really made me want to keep watching. Also not to mention I'm the type of person that usually likes to watch anime with reverse-harem, love triangles, and a lot of excitement, so I this this was something new to me. The art was good, and unlike what I wrote above, there were parts when all the characters could shine. Each of the main characters' backgrounds were narrated thoroughly, and I guess you could say after hearing them, jellyfish are a really big part of the story.
Generally, I really enjoyed this anime and I'm sure I will like the manga too :)
Note: if you feel discouraged after this review, since I don't really know how to write a good review, get your butt back to that website or whatever you do to watch anime, and watch Kuragehime because I will drag you there with my teeth if you refuse. :D
