It was mostly my first impression and I still sort of feel that way. The plot isn't all that engaging and the MCs don't stand out that much for me. I could argue that it's climbed to a 7 but it's not solid enough for me to change my score rn at least

I mean I could ask you the same about Spy x Family, which you gave a 1 and I think is by far the best currently-publishing manga.

Honestly, I think Orient at a 4 is a little on the generous side. Its art is messy and kinda difficult to follow, its characters are vapid and pretty generic, and its flaws just comfortably outweigh its good points.

I think that the story don't make sense, everthing happen to fast without the construction that is needed. The characters are good but they just are stereotypes so they become a little boring. I think that has potential but in the moment for me, Orient is just a complety mess.

A 6 is still good, but Shinobu Ohtaka kinda disappointed me with the story. It just doesn't scratch the Magi itch...

1. The synopsis caught my attention and the manga is not bad.
2. The 6 is because I qualify according to the first 20 chapters, although to be honest the current arc could be an 8

Actually I look at the RAWs which only takes 1 minute of my time just to appreciate Ohtaka's artwork and for the small glimmer of hope that Magi characters will appear cause of Alibaba's comment on the final chapter about how they are trying to come into contact with other worlds. I might actually like Orient and pay attention to the story then lol.
