Steins; Gate is one of those rare animes that can explain time travel without falling to the many plot holes that could be created from the concept. An anime that seems light-hearted at first transforms into an intense sci-fi thriller that you will never forget.

This is my first review so please go gentle on me (>^.^)>
This review will contain some minor spoilers, so please beware.
I'm a big fan of this anime, but I'll try to give an unbiased review and will look at the positives and negatives.
I haven't watched that many animes so I may not be able to dig up on some topics/criticism.
Now, lets get onto the actual review :D

Mirai Nikki was an anime that is based around survival, deception and trust, it has many plot twists throughout the 26 episodes, with the characters often deceiving the main characters (Yuno Gasai and Yukiteru Amano) which gives a ... sense of unpredictability and not knowing which characters are good or bad.

The story is one of the most original I've seen, it is full of plot twists as I stated earlier, and keeps the viewer engaged in the show. It revolves around the idea of "Kill or be killed" and "survival of the fittest" which develops into a much more complex story line towards the end of the anime, leaving many questions unanswered and many plot holes. Overall, the story was good and original, with plot twists however, it also has many plot holes.

The animation was fluid and the art was good, nothing else to be said here :|

The sound was great, the music fitted each scene and created a sense of tension in the anime, once again, nothing more to say :|

The characters were either over-baked or cliches, regardless, they were very interesting and unpredictable to a degree, Yuno was probably the most interesting to watch,with her yandere personality often making her hard to predict. Tsubaki's real nature was a big shock to me, and that shows how deceptive and twisted this show can be. 5th wasn't the best choice of character, a 5 year old murderer doesn't really add a sense of realism, rather the opposite - A sense of fantasy, although then again, this is anime, not real life.
Yuki is a weak-minded male lead, who thinks a thousand times before doing anything and often panics quickly, accompanied with Yuno, his "Stalker"who is obsessed with Yuki and will protect him at ALL costs.
9th was one of my favorites, she had an original character, was quick witted and unpredictable. She played a significant role towards the end.
Overall, the characters had original personalities with different back stories, some characters were cliches or over-baked, nonetheless they were good.

I thoroughly enjoyed mirai nikki and it is one of my favorites, I recommend it to anyone that enjoys: Romance, action, blood, dark fantasy and psychological thrillers.
Overall my personal rating of mirai nikki is a 10/10 however for the purpose of this review and not solely being about my enjoyment, I give it a 9/10.
