Note:
This is a review of the first 5 episodes, I will make the possible changes by the end of the season. I also made it so that this review contains the least amount of spoilers possible.
After watching the first 2 episodes I was instantly hooked on Darker than Black. It's totally a great amine, and would probably be up in the top 10 after done airing.
If you haven't seen Darker than Black yet then I highly recommend it. I usually watch drama/romance anime but this got me, this got me good. Darker than Black bases off of these special people named contractors, and yes these
...
type of people like in most anime have special abilities, but this is where it becomes different and unique; the contractors have to use remuneration, or something that has to be done to use these so called contractor powers, this could range from making origami to ripping the hell out of your hair.
Another thing I love about this anime is how they add in little details like when a meteor falls a contractor supposedly dies. This is not the case with the main character though (watch anime, trying not to spoil), even when he loses his meteor he still lives. Other details would be: flashbacks giving information in the gap between the first and second season, changes to the characters because of factors from the first season, and making more of an emphasis on "remuneration."
Now the sound in Darker than black is superb! The opening tells a story in itself, it basically tries to input the message that when you become a contractor everything that you have, your dreams, and everyone that you hold dear will be lost, and that you have to keep moving forward. You will find this true within the anime as you progress through. The background music in the anime fit it very well, it was fast paced and complimented the action greatly. The voice actors fit each and everyone of their characters and are acted out very well. The only thing I had disagreement on sound was that the ending had pretty much almost nothing to do with the anime.
The art has also improved a considerable amount. In season one of this anime the effects were great and artwork was well done. Now in season two of Darker than Black, the artwork has been given more detail; effects being notched up, lighting and shading more present especially in the effects, and even a 3D perspective is added in.
Now the characters in the anime change drastically from season one. This is most likely from the problems aroused from season one. You see big changes from the main characters. One of them transitions from a cold-blooded killer working for a syndicate, to being a alcoholic working for the government. Other major character developments are that innocent people became involved and actually became the once normal living people into emotionless contractors.
Overall I enjoyed this anime and gave it a 9. The originality, art, and the new ideas coming from this anime convinced me to give it a 9. Hopefully by the end of this season (which I don't want this anime to ever end), I will go over this review again and most likely give it a 10 if this anime keeps impressing me.

Yes, I agree endless 8 is bad... but I'm not one of those guys who will give a 1 just because of the story... There are other factors like the art, sound and character.
I, unlike other people will give this a FAIR review, listen to my WHOLE opinion about Haruhi season 2 before you overlook this.
Okay first the story of the first 9 episodes wasn't that good, lets say... um horrible. The endless 8 would've been better IF they made the number of episodes less or released 2 episodes at a time WITH actual development in the endless 8 arc.
NOT to say the story ruined
...
everything but I would give it a 5 for a least trying, anything below 5 for me is unwatchable, but it was bearable...
The art of course you will notice IF you look closely kind of looks like K-ON! and yes some people whine about it, but I think that it actually got better. For those people who think they stole the gestures, poses and other things from K-ON!, you fail to notice that its made by the same company Kyoto animation...
Animation for the previous season was a 9, since I THOUGHT the animation got better fps and art what not, it goes to a 10
Now, people say Haruhi has lost some of her godliness, I don't see how but people say she does... Anyways, the characters were original and cool, BUT the character development had little to no change, probably at episode 9 but thats it.
My opinion on character in Haruhi season 1 was a 9, right now probably went down to a 7.
Now the ops and ends of Haruhi were fantastic no more need to be said, it probably went down 1 because it was a little bit weaker than season 1's ops and ends.
Sound went from 10 to a 9.
Okay now the enjoyment watching the endless 8... well, I didn't enjoy much at all...
So enjoyment went from 10 to a 9 then kept going to an 8, than a 7,6 then plummeted down to a 5.
Now IF I were to give and overall it would be a 6
Now IF we add the episodes after the endless 8
Story from a 5 goes to a 7
Art stays at 10
Character at 7 goes to a 8
sound stays as 9
enjoyment from a 5 goes to a 8
This would be overall a 7-8
Now if you don't like how I did this than go whine about it and make your own review, If you thought this review gave you second thoughts, than put this as helpful...

"CANAAN" is an adaptation from the visual novel "428: Fūsasareta Shibuya de," which in fact, one of the few games to be awarded a perfect score by Famitsu.
So basically "CANAAN" revolves around a woman named Canaan who is involved in a plot against the notorious terrorist group named "Snake." As Canaan tries to stop the group from spreading a so called "Ua Virus," she finds the killer who killed a close and dear companion, her name is Alphard.
While Canaan progresses through the storyline trying to avenge her companion, anew problem has occurred. By a stroke of chance, Canaan's closest and lost friend Maria also gets
...
involved in the same situation.
My thoughts on "CANAAN" are that it's main idea was very interesting and creative, how the story was presented changed the generic outlook about people with "powers" using a virus and how terrorists implemented with this weapon. Now the artwork was undoubtedly amazing bringing out great quality and feel of the anime. For sound, the voice actors actually fit with the characters. The opening song was flawless but the ending could be better. Characters were also explained thoroughly, the anime as it progressed revealed more and more information of the main characters so that you will always keep interested. The enjoyment I had watching this was spectacular, "CANAAN" always came up with lots of scenarios, twists and suspense at the end of each episode, this suspense makes you want to go and watch the next episode.
My overall is that "CANAAN" proved to be a good anime, that's why it will be for me a 9/10.
