At the time I write this review, 2017 had a notable anime with a Gambling premise called "Kakegurui," which was compared to the likes of this show. I personally did enjoy Kakegurui and when I heard about this, I decided to give it a shot. Needless to say, Kaiji was a very unique experience compared to Kakegurui and this anime left a very strong impression.
Story: 10/10
"Kaiji" is an anime about a young, deadbeat man named Kaiji who is dirt poor, tends to engage in cheap gambles and likes to violate expensive cars. One day, he is visited by a man named Endou who

informs Kaiji that a debt he co-signed for a friend has fallen onto him after his friend disappeared. He ends up with a debt of 3.8 Million Yen, and with no options on how to pay it, he is offered a ride on a 4 hour cruise where he has to gamble with other people to take out his debt. Kaiji agrees to this, and so begins his descent into a dark world of underworld gambling, where as the anime progresses, the riskier the gambles are, to the point where it is literally 'Life-or'Death.'
Art: 6/10
One of the things that puts down people from watching this show is the art style. To be frank, the art style is VERY UGLY. With darker shades of colors, and odd geometrical shapes for the faces, it's no wonder that people don't like the art style. Although, since this is an anime that deals with dark undertones in the story, it suits the anime well. I mean, can you imagine how this anime would be like if we had moe art style for this? Another good thing about this art style is the fact that the style allows the freedom to put an exaggerated facial expression. It really allows the viewer to see the agony and stress a character is feeling when facing a challenge that is testing their limits.

In my reviews, I never really pay attention to the sound details of an anime, usually the OP and ED of a series. Kaiji is a special exception. The sound is phenomenal throughout the season. The Voice Acting for Kaiji by Masato Hagiwara was one of the best VAs I've ever heard for a character. I really felt that Hagiwara sold the emotions well during the scenes where Kaiji was determined or agonizing. The OP is sung by Masato Hagiwara, the VA for Kaiji, while the ED is sung by Hakuryuu, the VA for Tonegawa. The OP has a kickass beat where you feel like being a badass, while the ED has a somber tone that fits the show. This anime was the first for me to enjoy the songs played throughout an episode. The songs were composed by Hideki Taniuchi, who has also composed the OST to 'Death Note.' The songs Taniuchi was really enjoyable, and they fit during scenes where it was needed. An example would be "Defeat" playing during the start of the 2nd part of the "Brave Man Road" arc. Definitely, the OST in Kaiji is one of my very favorites from anime.
Characters: 8/10
Kaiji, despite being a deadbeat gambler, is one of my favorite characters in an anime- ever. Even though he wants money, Kaiji always tries to take a path where he is fair with those who gamble with him and tries to split his winnings fairly with others. He ultimately is a good guy and you're probably bound to end up cheering for him in his gambles. As for the other characters, they're pretty much 1-dimensional and serve their roles well. Tonegawa is one of the villains of the series, being the person who organizes the gambles, not caring about what happens to any of the contestants in the gambles. Hyoudou is an elderly man who oversees these gambles and enjoys seeing people suffer, ruin their lives and die. Endou is a loan shark who brings Kaiji into the world of underground gambling who only cares about getting his money. Other characters include Ishida, Andou, Sahara, Funai, and Furuhata, the friend he co-signed with. I give this an 8, since the other characters don't develop much and just serve their roles.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Kaiji was a thrill ride from start to finish. With the constant "Life-or-Death" gambles, there were times I felt anxiety from wanting to know what happens next. While it does start a bit slow, it picks up really quick and it gets very interesting from one episode to the next. Even though Kaiji is a shitty deadbeat, he is enjoyable to watch and you just want him to win and to get his life going. The games were interesting, and I really binged this series, considering it was very addicting. Rarely do I find a series that I want to binge, and Kaiji is one of them.
Overall: 10/10
Kaiji in about 10 years time will probably be considered a Classic of the 2000s Anime (much like how we consider Classics from the 1980s and 1990s), and it's a pretty underrated and under supported anime. Kaiji is an absolute must-watch for anyone who likes anime and want and interesting story to watch. While the art style may put people down, the story, soundtrack and enjoyment of this show make up for the art, and this is genuinely, as as now that I write this, my favorite anime I have ever seen.

Renai Boukun ("Love Tyrant") is a series that I first found out about when a Facebook post gave a clip of a scene from the first episode titled "Yandere Simulator: The Anime." I decided to take a look at the series, and I liked the series.
Story: 7/10
The story involves a teenager named Seiji who is in love with a beautiful girl in his class named Akane. While he thinks that he'd find a way to ask her out, he gets a surprise: A girl named Guri shows up and starts to turn his life upside down. She explains how she's a cupid from

Heaven and how she needs to pair up people through "ships". She subsequently ships Seiji, herself and Akane together. The series basically follows them and their friends as they go along their lives trying to deal with this harem.
Art: 7/10
The art was decent. Not one of my favorites, but I enjoyed it. The character models and proportions were good and some of the models were interesting to see. An example is Korari, with his angel form and his earth form, which is him possessing Seiji's cat, Blue.
Sound: 8/10
The OP and ED were nice to listen to, with the OP having a crazy yet cheerful tune, and the ED having a more soothing and romantic tune. The VA for this series was well done, and I liked the VA especially of Seiji since I felt that it matched his personality and of Yuzu since I felt the voice for a typical Tsundere was done well with her.
Character: 7/10
The characters are good and all, but I felt they were too much of a stock character. Seiji is the male protagonist, being a good guy and level-headed, all while trying to please the women that surround his life. Guri is the Female Protagonist, who is a Cupid/Angel who is sent from heaven to make couples and to understand what is love (Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me... no more...). Akane is the "Yandere" of the series who develops feelings for Seiji when she realizes he likes her, and loves him very dearly, but she tends to pull out kukri knives to stop anyone who tries to steal Seiji, especially Guri or Shikimi. Yuzu is Akane's younger half-sister who is in love with Akane (both as a Sister and a Woman) and tends to be very clingy on her, but tends to be a literal "Tsundere" towards Seiji and gradually warms up to him. Shikimi is the sadistic and cruel cousin of Akane and Yuzu, who tends to flirt with Seiji only to do it on purpose to upset Akane.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The series was pretty humorous and I smiled a lot throughout the series. For the most part, it had various slice-of-life aspects (such as a beach episode) and the plot ran smoothly enough to make me enjoy the show and to want more. There were times I would get upset at certain points, such as time where Shikimi did her cruel acts to get something from Seiji or Akane. Either way, I had a nice time watching the show and I came to enjoy the scenes and most of the characters.
Overall: 7/10
The series felt pretty generic, but the idea of having a cupid/angel play as the "magical girl" was a nice touch and I was interested with how the series would play out. This isn't one of my favorite series, but it's a nice and cheerful one to enjoy. If you want a different thing out of rom-coms and harems, I would recommend this. Overall, I'd say this was an exact 7.0 in terms of rating.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is a series that deals with the Yuri genre, all while giving animal puns in the everyday lives of 8 characters.
Story: 5/10
The story revolves around the relationship two girls named Inugami-san and Nekoyama-san and their group of friends in their everyday lives. That's it. That's literally the plot. There wasn't anything noteworthy about the plot in every episode, considering they fall under generic settings for a slice-of-life series, like "a day at the pool", "a day at the summer festival", etcetera.
Art: 6/10
The art was decent, but I didn't like it so much. I can't put my finger on it, but

something int he art just didn't feel comfortable for me and it didn't really leave a good memory for me. One good thing though was that I saw the body proportions done well and not exaggerated.
Sound: 6/10
The sound for the series was alright, although nothing memorable. I found the voice acting to be fairly nice and cute for my tastes.
Characters: 5/10
I give my rating like this because I found the characters fairly bland and they kinda acted like the animal they represented. Inugami acts like a dog since she's outgoing and friendly (despite loving cats), while Nekoyama acts like a cat since she's shy and introverted (despite loving dogs). There's Nezu, who is like a mouse in the sense that she eats a lot of cheese and is nocturnal. Ushiwaka is like a cow, being very docile and has large breasts. Sarutobi is the class president who tends to displays traits of monkeys, even though she tries to hide it. Hibari is Sora's childhood friend, who is often absent due to her poor health. Finally, there is Tamaki, Nekoyama's older sister who dates several women and suffers constant hangovers. Note from all the characters I've just written that there is NOT A SINGLE MALE CHARACTER in this.
Enjoyment: 6/10
I can't say that I liked or disliked this series, but rather I had an indifference towards it. Some of the scenes made me feel nothing or slightly cringe at it, whether it be a yuri scene or just a silly scene. The puns were a bit cringy as well and many of the jokes weren't so funny to me.
Overall: 6/10
This was really the first yuri series I've ever seen, and I think it was a bit "over praised" for what it really delivers. The only reason I would recommend this is if you're into yuri, especially if it's just a subtle romantic level. This is a series I just felt indifferent towards.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan (Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan) is a series that I'm surprised to see it only has 6 episodes in the entire series and it was a very nonsensical but enjoyable series.
Story: 7/10
The anime revolves around a young, 13 year old boy named Sakura-kun who lives with an angel named Dokuro-Chan. The issue with this is that he is constantly getting killed and resurrected by Dokuro-Chan when he does something she doesn't like. The anime just shows various scenes that are loosely related to each other, much like any other slice-of-life anime. There's some plot in, like, 2 episodes, but that's about it.

Art: 6/10
The art is fairly decent, although not my favorite. I don't have so much of a negative opinion about the artstyle, only that I don't like the fact that Dokuro-Chan is a bit too developed for her age (12) and her younger sister looks like in her late teens/early twenties when she's 9. I also didn't like the use of fanservice with Dokuro-Chan because, of course, her age.
Sound: 7/10
The OP is one of the most catchiest songs I have heard in anime, having Dokuro-Chan singing about how she's an angel and how she'll brutally torture you in various ways, but all in the name of love. The VA was alright, in my case I heard it through the English Dub and it was alright.
Characters: 7/10
The characters are pretty basic, despite some of them being angels. Sakura-kun is a 13 year old who is trying to survive Dokuro-Chan's attacks (Her existence in the series is explained in one episode) while trying to earn the affection of his classmate Shizuki. Dokuro-Chan is an angel who is sent to assassinate Sakura-kun but fails to do so since she fell in love with him, and instead tries to spend time with him as much as she can, all while being able to magically change anyone at her will. Sabato is another angel out to kill Saukra-kun, but is usually defeated in some way and tends to live very poor. Zansu is another angel that went along with Dokuro-Chan to save Sakura-kun, but he tends to be very perverse. Zakuro is Dokuro-Chan's younger sister who looks older and has a lerger bust than Dokuro-Chan, she tends to be kind and speaks very formal with everyone. Finally, there is Shizuki, Sakura-kun's childhood friend and classmate, who tends to see Sakura-kun as a good person, and she tends to display a bit of a crush on him. Besides those characters, all the others aren't noteworthy.
Enjoyment: 8/10
For a 6 episode series, I enjoyed it very much, considering that it was mainly filled with slapstick-humor. That is in the form of nonsensical violence and gore. The characters fairly had a good dynamic with each other that made me chuckle, laugh and smile, and I did enjoy the series considerably well. I did feel bad for Sakura-kun, since he was always at the blunt end of the class' hatred towards him and Dokuro-Chan's abuse to him.
Overall: 7/10
While this isn't the greatest series ever made, it was a fairly good, short series that I liked very much. The only thing unique of this series was the use of angels instead of a "magical girl" or "alien girl", but it was fairly bland for a series. I'd only recommend this if you want a short series you can finish in a few hours or you want something silly to watch.

Death Parade is a series I found out about through an album cover by B.R.A.D.I.O., who provide the main OP for this show. Needless to say, I really loved this series, and the way that the show ran made me hooked to it from start to finished.
Story: 9/10
The story takes place in a bar called Quindecim, which is a place people go after they die to have their souls judged for reincarnation or eternal death. decided. It's through how they react to different situations throughout the game and as the memories of their death return is how they are decided- especially when they show their truest dark nature. Each episode revolves around the judgements of various people who go into Quimdecim, and Death is the main topic of the show, but various topics are brought up, such as Jealousy, Anger, Mistrust, Vengence, Love, Kindness and Living a full Life. My only issue with the story was that I felt it was a bit rushed at the end, and that kind of killed the mood for me.
Art: 10/10
The art style was very well done, and it's one of my favorite series in the art category. I enjoyed the art style of the Arbiters, especially their eyes, which had crosses in order to signify that they're different from humans, and I found it intrguing how the crosses in their eyes would turn 90 degrees when they picked up a memory. My favorite art design for a character was Onna's, considering she had very light skin, purple eyes, jet black hair with a small streak of white, and a very slender figure.
Sound: 9/10
The OP is the most misleading thing I have ever seen for a series. Second to this OP is the one for Gakkugurarashi (School-Live!), which is also misleading, but this one caught me by surprise. The OP is very cheerful and party oriented, and having a very catchy tune and set of lyrics. If you've never heard of BRADIO, that is a nice song to listen to and it's a band I really enjoy. The ED is very sad and it sets the tone of sadness and somber that is filled in the episodes. The songs that play throughout the episode set the tone and mood for the scenes, some being melancholy and some being intense/nervewracking. The VA for this series was also well done and I really enjoyed the VAs for Decim and Onna.
Character: 10/10
The characters in this series were a very interesting group that I enjoyed. Decim is the arbiter who runs Quindecim and hosts the games, all while keeping a collection of dummies of various people he remember that have visited Quindecim. Onna is a human who is dead but is kept as an assistant for Decim and helps host the games, all while helping Decim to understand how humans and emotions are like. Nona is a woman who checks on Decim on how he judges humans and is interested at the idea of a human helping an arbiter. Ginti is another arbiter who runs a Saki Bar to judge humans all while having a bit of a condesating opinion of humans. Mayu is a young woman who also serves (kinda) as an assistant to Ginti. There is Clavis, who is the elevator opperator of "the tower" and has a cheerful personality. Also, there is Quin, who was the previous owner of Quindecim and has a strong love towards alcoholic drinks. Finally, there are various humans who enter Quindecim, and play Decim's games, showing various emotions to the situations they were put in and they sometimes make you wonder about the decision of their fates was just or not.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I was hooked on this show from the get-go. I had heard that this show is one that would make you cry, but it never did the effect to me. Although, it made me think about various topics such as the ones I mentioned, and wonder about how life tends to be unfair to those and although we may live different lives, we all end the same way through death. Whie it is very serious and somber throughout majority of the show, there are some scenes that were funny, such as the actions and reactions of Mayu, who served as the comic relief. The show was very intreguing and very thought provoking that I'd spend late nights thinking about the topics they brought up in the episodes.
Overall: 10/10
Although it was a depressing and somber series, I really loved it. For a more serious series, I really enjoyed it and I think it's one of the best to have been released in the recent years. Very thought provoking, art style is well, the theory behind the afterlife, and the characters were well done. This isn't a series that I'd recommend if you don't like the idea of serious tones, but otherwise I would recommend this series. If it wasn't for the rushed ending, I would've given this a full 10/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 9.6 or 9.7 as the score. And this is one of the very few series I would be willing to rewatch again.

School Rumble is an Anime that I personally cherish very much, considering the premise behind it. This series has some of my favorite characters in all of Anime, and this is a series I'm more than glad to recommend.
Story: 9/10
The story revolves around a guy and a girl who try to pursue their crush to no avail due to many misunderstandings. The girl, who is named Tenma, tries to get the attention of her crush, named Karasuma, which usually doesn't work out well. The guy, named Harima, tries to get attention of his crush, which is Tenma, to which it also doesn't work out

well. For the most part, that is the main story, but there are many sub stories with all the various characters of the show, both the main and supporting characters.
Art: 8/10
The art was very nice, the character designs were well done. The clothes used by the characters usually matched their personality or status (Example would be Harima's clothing makes him look like a delinquent, or Eri wearing fancy clothes due to her wealth). One thing I really enjoyed was the fact that there wasn't any fanservice during a beach and pool episode, which also showed basically normal teenagers enjoying a day at the beach or pool.
Sound: 9/10
The OP is really nice and catchy, having a ditsy tune that matches the nature of the show, and one of the most memorable and favorite OPs to an Anime for me. The ED is also very good, having a song about boys chasing and thinking about girls all day long, which sets up the idea of what Harima is doing in regards to Tenma. The voice acting was very nice, each of the characters had a voice that matched their personality very well.
Character: 10/10
As I mentioned, this anime has some of the characters I have enjoyed the most in a series. Harima is the male protagonist, having one of the most radical character developments I have seen, starting out as a delinquent who doesn't care for school to being a regular guy who expresses himself through drawing Manga and attending classes. Tenma is the female protagonist, knowing to be a sweet and childish girl for her age (16), but she strives to be seen as a woman. There's Tenma's crush, Karasuma, who is seen to be a very stoic character, who shows little to no emotions, but is filled with talent. Eri is one of Tenma's friends who is the "rich girl" of the school, but uses this image to hide her loneliness and insecurities that surround her life. Mikoto is the Tomboy of the group who is tough and athletic, but she knows how to comfort her friends when they need it. Akira is another friend of Tenma who is intelligent, calm, resourceful, perceptive, and mysterious. Yakumo is Tenma's younger sister (despite that many people believe she is the older sibling) who is quiet, beautiful, shy, smart and mature, having many talents that sparks interest in people who see her. Finally, Hanai is the childhood friend of Mikoto who tends to keep his class in order, all while trying to win the love of Yakumo.
Enjoyment: 10/10
For an anime that is a Romantic Comedy, this really does fit the description of that, having scenes of both romance and comedy. There was many scenes that put a smile on my face, as well as those that made me chuckle, giggle or laugh. It's a very silly series that shows a fun light in the topic of adolescent romance, and it's possible to come out liking many, if not, all of the characters for how they are and how they interact to each other and with various situations.
Overall: 10/10
This is one of the first series I finished in anime, and it was amazing. The episodes had me hooked from the beginning and they're mainly random, but they help the plot move well. There's many things I really enjoyed from this anime, but the main part were the characters, especially Harima and Yakumo, mainly for their personalities. If you want an anime that will make you laugh and smile, as well as take a different route from the various harems and fanservice common in romantic comedies, then this one is for you. I recommend this normally for those that are starting to watch anime.

Kimi ni Todoke is an Anime that, while it is aimed at female teenagers, I personally loved and enjoyed all the way through. If there is a Shojo anime that guys can enjoy, this is one of them.
Story: 9/10
The story revolves around a shy, but friendly girl named Sawako who tends to be socially awkward because of her resemblance to Sadako from "The Ring" series, giving off a creepy vibe to everyone around her. This all changes when the most popular boy of the class, named Kazehaya, starts to talk to her. The anime then continues on how Sawako becomes friends with many people

and becomes popular among everyone at school, as well as how her feelings towards Kazehaya develop throughout the series.
Art: 10/10
The art style is one of the greatest I have seen up to now, and I can go on and on about how pleasing the art style is. The character proportions are very well done, although the heights are a bit off for my tastes. One thing I did love of the art style is the way the characters look during different scenes. An example would be that a silly, chibi-like version of the character would be placed during a silly or funny scene, while a more adult-like or beautiful/handsome version of a character would come up on a romantic or serious scene. There are many things that can be discussed about each of the characters art style, but it's one that I will surely remember for a long time.
Sound: 10/10
The OP and ED are very heartwarming and nice, not to mention they set the tone of the show. The songs that are played in different scenes fit well based on the situation. An example would be a silly, fast, upbeat song would play during the silly scenes. The voice acting was very nice and the VAs fit the characters very well.
Character: 9/10
The characters are very well done, probably one of my favorite characters in all of Anime. Sawako is the shy, but sweet female protagonist who tries to make friends but is pretty socially awkward and takes a while to do so. Kazehaya is the male protagonist who's known to be the most popular guy of the class because of his kindness to others and his good nature, all while showing interest towards Sawako. Ayane and Chizuru are Sawako's best friends, where Ayane is mature and calm, while Chizuru is tomboyish and emotional. Ryu is a close friend of Kazehaya and the childhood friend of Chizuru, known to be very quiet but knows when to give support to those in need. Pin is the homeroom teacher of the group and he tends to pick on Kazehaya, since he knows him from Kazehaya's baseball days, and likes to joke around a lot, but he shows a serious and helping side when the students need it. Kurumi is a girl that has known Kazehaya since middle school and she seems like a sweet and caring girl, but there is more to her (Which is something you have to see).
Enjoyment: 10/10
I really enjoyed the series, seeing how Sawako develops as a character throughout the series, starting out as a shy girl that no one talked with to a girl who was well known and friends with everyone. I enjoyed the silly scenes with the music that played in said scenes, and I enjoyed the scenes that were romantic or important. I also enjoyed the characters and their interactions with each other, with each of them having a unique personality.
Overall: 10/10
This anime is one that really made me happy and feel good, especially for how the show went along. This show is bound to make you root for Sawako and Kazehaya to get together, and it's easily a couple in anime that you would enjoy. Whether you're a person who loves romance animes or someone who enjoys slices of life, or someone who likes feel good animes, this is one that anyone can enjoy. The pace may not be for everyone, but I assure you that if you just roll along with it, it'll come out to be a series you would enjoy. This is one I highly recommend to anyone that watches anime, whether you're new to anime or a veteran in watching anime.

Kiss x Sis is a series that I genuinely regret ever watching. If there is a series that I consider the worst that I have seen, it is this one. The entire show made me think to myself "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" so many times. Genuinely, this had made me convinced there's some sort of deep underlying psychological issue with some Japanese people from this anime.
Story: 3/10
The story revolves around a 9th grader named Keita who is trying to get the grades he needs to go to the same high school as his older step-sisters Ako and Riko. There's one problem: HIS SISTERS

ARE MAKING SEXUAL ADVANCES ONTO HIM. So, he constantly gets distracted by them, and even getting tempted by them, which really upsetted me. The supporting characters weren't much of an improvement as well, considering they also try to make advances onto Keita.
Art: 7/10
The art was the most positive thing out of this, having a nice, clean look, but there was many scenes of fan service and despite all the shit this anime throws at the viewer, they couldn't draw nipples on the breasts when they were shown for God knows what reason.
Sound: 6/10
The songs are catchy and cheerful, but once you learn what the songs are saying, boy they will make you uncomfortable. There's nothing better than have a song about how you want to be kissed and pounded by your younger step brother. Nope! Nothing at all...
Character: 2/10
What really makes me so pissed at this show is the characters and how they interact with each other. Keita is the MC who starts out well, trying to not fall into the temptations of his sisters, but over time he starts conceding more and more into their advances, which made me say "WHAT THE FUCK KEITA." Ako and Riko are Keita's older twin sisters by one year who are constantly trying to win his love in the most perverse fashion, all while dealing with other competitors. Miharu is a shy classmate of Keita who (somewhat) has feelings for Keita, but she is a gag of the show, having to piss EVERY OTHER SCENE (There is one scene of her pissing at the school that really made me uncomfortable. Can you guess what it is?). Mikazuki is a friend of Keita who is in love with him and tries to flash her panties every other time she sees him, not to mention she's the "Lolita" of the series. There's also the parents of Keita, Ako, and Riko who ARE OKAY with the twins chasing after him, which really questions their parenting and wonder "WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU OKAY WITH THIS?" The only remotely likeable character is Yuuzuki, the older sister of Mikazuki and homeroom teacher of the twins who sees the twins' advances as wrong and tries to stop them, but she also eventually starts to fall in love with Keita and fantasizes of having sex with him (Of course, what more do you expect from a virgin like her?)
Enjoyment: 3/10
I really felt uncomfortable with this series, constantly cringing and nearly yelling at my screen on the interactions the characters had with each other. I really wish that the adults of the series had a bit more of control and actually try to stop the twins' advances, but they didn't and that really made me upset.
Overall: 3/10
Never had I seen a series that genuinely pissed me off more than this one. The thing that made this really shitty of a series was the plot and the characters, not to mention the character interactions, and it really left a bad taste for me. Unless you're into ecchi or incestious-based anime, then avoid this series. It will pretty much piss you off, cringe and wonder about the lax attitudes of the characters towards the situation.

Seiren is a Romance Anime that goes through a different path compared to other Romance/Harem Animes. The show goes through 4 episodes dedicated to one of the girls that the MC deals with and it left me with pretty good impressions.
Story: 6/10
The story deals with a high school guy named Shouichi who deals with different girls in various timelines. The episodes deal with how he gets to be in a relationship with each girl, which takes, as I mentioned, 4 episodes to show this development. The art style was alright, I enjoyed the character designs, even though it isn't the greatest art style I've seen. There was some fanservice that made me groan, but it was tolerable enough for me. Overall, it was pleasing enough for my tastes.
Sound: 7/10
The OP and ED were alright, but nothing memorable out of the two, and the songs played in the episodes weren't very memorable.
Character: 6/10
The main character is a guy named Shouichi who is your average guy, but only that he's a bit more timid than the average harem MC, as well as he tends to have some odd peverse thoughts (You'll understand this if you see his dream with Hikari). Hikari is pretty much a popular girl who over time warms up to Shouihi (Kinda like a Tsundere) during their timeline, although I felt she was a little too bitchy and spoiled of a character. Tooru is an upperclassmen who spends time playing video games, whether it be in school with friends, in an arcade, or in her house, but she's a friendly person who enjoys the company of others. Finally, Kyouko is the childhood friend and neighbor (if I remember correctly) of Shouichi who is a little naïve, but wants Shouichi to see her as a growing young woman and not as a childhood friend. There are also some characters that were okay, but nothing very noteworthy of them to be mentioned here. Overall, Tooru was my favorite character since I personally could relate to her for the love of video games.
Enjoyment: 7/10
I enjoyed the show pretty well, I liked some of the funny scenes in the show, some of the fanservice made me groan, but I thought it was pretty well done for a Romance Anime. The characters could've been fleshed out a little more, but I think they were good enough for my taste. There's nothing really big that changes the genre of Romance, except the format of the episodes, but it was a pretty good anime. This isn't the type of anime for everyone, and I don't recommend it, but I don't think it should be completely avoided. Watch if you want to, but don't expect anything revolutionary to the Romance Anime genre. This is just another anime that views a part of everyday adolescent romance.

Trouble Chocolate is one of the few animes I have completed after only watching the English Dub version and I have to say it was a unique series that had some vibes from Urusei Yatsura.
Story: 6/10
The story follows a magician-in-training, Cacao, who wakes up one day to find a beautiful girl sleeping next to him. He freaks out and she wakes up, introducing herself as Hinano, a marionette. The show basically follows the two and their friends dealing with various problems that arise in every episode that are loosely related but somehow they all fall into full circle, all while Hinano tries to win

Cacao's love while Cacao isn't interested and obsesses over another thing (Sounds familiar?).
Art: 7/10
The art was pretty good considering that it was relatively ahead of its time before it became modern and the character designs are pretty eccentric enough to make cosplays out of them. They all looked nice and it fit well with their individual personalities.
Sound: 7/10
The OP is pretty catchy, especially with the way the singer says Chocolate. The EDs are really nice, with the first one having a slow, almost in a remembering type of song while the 2nd ED is fast-paced and is done to the style of Para Para. The show constantly uses a tropical-themed version of the OP throughout the episode which is pretty catch for my tastes.
Character: 6/10
The characters all pretty much named after a food or plant, and they pretty much follow a typical trope in anime: Cacao is a big eater who somehow gets drunk on chocolate all while ignoring Hinano's romantic advances, Hinano is the "magical girl" who loves Cacao despite his rejections, Deborah and Murakata are the romantic couple who go head-over-heels for each other, Truffle is the spoiled rich guy trying to win the attention of Hinano, and there are other characters who stereotype some other anime tropes.
Enjoyment: 7/10
The show is pretty much filled with cheesy moments that made me groan, but at the same time smile for how silly the jokes and scenes are. It wasn't necessarily funny, but it wasn't boring. It just made me smile for its silly scenes, where, as an example, one of the "villains" and their sidekick is too silly that you can't take them seriously.
Overall: 7/10
This is one of the series that I had fun watching, but it wasn't the best thing I've ever seen. I recommend this if you have nothing to watch or you just want something silly to watch. As I said, I see this as a loose parody of Urusei Yatsura, and boy did it try to parody it.
