writing a review makes fun. spoiler-free
Here is my personal thought of Oregairu
I made some things that I considered good and bad in this film and discussed them one by one
What do I hate about this film?
The story in this film is the simplest among the previous seasons
why? Because remember what problems Hachiman had to solve in season one or what happened in season 2. lots of things have happened. but in the current season what happens is only how do you get Hachiman to make a prom at his school, that's all? indeed but later they will add a dramatic spice. I like Oregairu which
...
is fresh and funny but can still be serious in the storyline, but in this season there are only unclear and ambiguous dialogues.
too dramatic
Throughout the film, you will be treated to Yui who always cries, even though what I know from the previous season Yui is not a person who is always whining and pessimistic. here it was as if Yui's personality had changed 180 degrees. It may look trivial but I'm sick of seeing people who always cry throughout most of the episodes, if Yuigahama reduced her crying portion that would be even better. Maybe I'm too old to watch this teen drama so this is subjective
bad animation
not all episodes have bad animation, but from what I saw in the early-mid episodes the animation looks stiff and bad in my eyes. For example, the episode when Yui ate cake with Hachiman I saw the animation was just like a cake that suddenly disappeared when it touched their mouth, but I like at the end of the episode they managed to create beautiful animation and scene at the end of the episode
sister and mother who are always annoying
I mean why is Yukino's sister always interfering in high school matters, I understand that Yukino's mother is the committee chairman, but from what I see from her sister she doesn't have the need and authority with her former school, it's like she and her mother don't have work.
the presence of additional characters that do not play an important role
I'm happy because they brought up the Chuunibyou boy again but unfortunately, supporting characters are rarely involved with the main character, such as the trap character who appears only in the sauna and Hayama and his gang who are only celebrants. Unlike season one where all the characters are involved and help solve the problem here only Hachiman does everything himself. In this season, it is more centered on the trio's main character and Yukino's mother and sister.
what I like about this film
realistic event committee and student council
maybe you will agree if I call it that, because of the many anime that I have watched, there are many student council leaders who have excessive power and are considered to be school rulers. but Oregairu managed to create a student council that actually has no social level. here, student councils are considered as fellow students, not as dictators. not only that, the prom administrators also really do their job like in real school although the event committee in my opinion is too little for big events like prom
Hachiman's awesome solution
using logical fallacy to create prom permissions is a brilliant idea. As usual, Hachiman can always be relied on to solve problems due to his useless friends. But the drawback is that the other characters don't get too much involved.
romance
after finally going through too many dramatic episodes, finally, something happened in this season
conclusion
not too good and bad indeed the score of 8 is too high and 6 is too low. because actually, the idea of this story is good, it's just bad execution. although the music that flows throughout the scene is also very good and suitable. I can't ignore what I don't like about this season.
