I don't have the energy to write a lengthy review, because I got no sleep thanks to staying up to finish watching this movie. Short version: this movie is nigh perfect while also being wildly creative and you need to see it if you are a human. It's also the type of thing that I could see giving people the boost they need to step back from a cliff or get past something hard. It's like a combination of your favorite weird mind-bender/depressing art film that makes interesting, risky decisions but might be hard to get emotionally invested in mixed said missing emotionally investment element.

It's *not* an art film, but it has the balls to use stuff that I'd expect to see in an art film and pulls it off.
The story, art, music, and characters are all fantastic, and the execution is honestly jaw-dropping. I'd rather not go into detail because I am both lazy and don't want to give anything away. A viewer deserves to experience it for themselves first and I've been burned myself by a few reviews that go into too much detail on this site.
Thing is, you really do have to watch the two seasons of the TV show before you can watch the movie. Which sounds like a lot of work for one movie, but it is worth it. I think of the two seasons of the show and the movie as basically one long show or super movie - I can't rate them separately as they are all integral to the overall quality and meaning of the entire package.
The TV show is also great, though the second season is controversial for reasons that everyone here is probably already aware of. I highly encourage you though if you are going to watch the show and then the movie to watch the entire second season. I can't say why, but you will enjoy the movie more. If you do this though, binge it within a few days (maybe 2 episodes a day). Again, can't say why, but it will make a difference. You only get to see this movie for the first time once, and you need to have watched the entire second season (every damn episode) for the movie to be able to hit as hard as possible.
Last thing I should mention is that there is some controversy over what order to watch the show in (I realize this is a review for the movie, but they are linked intrinsically). Personally, I think broadcast order is best to hit the highest dramatic highs, especially for your first viewing. I can't really explain why without spoiling things, so I'll leave it at that. Again, you can only watch this thing for the first time once, and you literally cannot experience the broadcast experience if you watch it chronologically first, at least not to the same degree. The reverse is not true, which is why I say: go broadcast first.
