I cringe at myself for watching this when I was younger but at least it is not 'Big Order'
The only reason to watch this show is if you don't like your time and want to throw it away on something neither good or bad enough to teach you anything. If you want a good shonon go watch My Hero Academia or Doctor Stone. This show is filled with nothing but cliche plots that have been done better a million times over and enough filler to fill several seasons.

I am obsessed with time travel yet this is STILL the best use of the mechanic I have ever seen thanks to it's consistency. When writing a time travel story it is important to make it's mechanics clear so that the audience can understand what the stakes are. Unfortunately most shows throw all of it's established limitations out the window with no explanation the moment they want to play with a new concept, not so in this series.

So, the real reason the hate for this show is so high is simply that it got popular. See this show got a lot of people (such as myself) into anime when it came out which made plenty of current fans MAD. It isn't that this show is filled with problems unique to itself, but that many fans got angry that THIS show is popular when better more niche shows were ignored.
Not that this show is GREAT it just isn't the worst (that honor goes to 'Big Order') and I have seen actual reviewers make up stuff about this show to make it sound ...

The worst anime I have ever seen. DO NOT believe the reviews from the Future Diary die hards who pretend this is good because it LOOKS like future diary and was written by the same dude. I am not really a big fan if FD and EVEN I wouldn't consider this abomination to be worthy of that comparison.
