Hiya!
I guess with my growing size of watched anime, I can't really pull the "new anime guy that hasn't seen much" anymore. My journey through what I've seen has been quite a nice one. Starting with basic stuff like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z throughout my childhood, but through these last couple of years is when I finally really got into anime with a friend.
Starting off with other popular Shounen like Death Note, Attack on Titan, and JoJo's. However these days, I couldn't really put a pin on what my favorite genres of Anime are. It's become so varied with stuff like Steins;Gate, Erased, to Rakugo Shinjuu and A Place Further than the Universe. My favorite anime mostly consisting of the ones that had touched me personally or emotionally. Even anime genres that just turned me off before like Romance and Slice of Life I now have such a good appreciation for, such as MMO Junkie and Shirobako.
What I love most from anime though, can be attributed to a few things. My enjoyment for Japanese culture has grown so much, one of the big things that really pointed me toward this was the video game Persona 3. And experiencing more of the Japanese culture through such different types of anime I find very enjoyable. Anime also can have such diverse styles, and topics they go over, it really excites me for future anime that I have on my list.
I hope to continue to broaden my horizons, watching many things I didn't think I'd like in the past. If you notice any good anime that is missing from my Anime List, please let me know!
Thanks for reading!
