It's a pretty dark lolisho anime, with a man vs nature theme that can get pretty disgusting as nature does. It's pretty sad and also cute at the same time. I honestly loved this anime though. The art style is unique and pretty cutesy, and the backgrounds were stunning. The main character Riko is pretty optimistic while knowing she could be heading to her death. Nanachi is probably one of the best characters in this series. It's not really a completely related anime since most of us aren't living in the woods being attacked by abyss creatures, but it has tons of action and it's ... pretty cool. I like the anime opening and ending a lot.
