Now, people visiting my page, go ahead and if I made a review you do not agree with (or maybe you do agree with me), or want some clarity on what I meant, you can always post a comment. I am quite sure I will reply. It is always fun, do not hold back with the name calling or explaining why I am wrong, the name calling is fun and the explanations are informative in some way, even if you would be completely wrong (Factually wrong, opinions can not be wrong, even when offensive).

My reviews.
Let me also explain how I do my reviews. I do not care how influential something has been, I look at the anime, not the effect it has had.
There are only 3 things where age has an impact on, in my opinion.
1. Sound, this is something they could not help if it is an old anime.
2. art, when we go far enough back in time it all was hand drawn, of course it is not going to look all fluid and neat (though it has a pleasing feeling).
3. The technology (and the babble accompanied), since the makers did not have a time machine they could not have known what our tech would be like.
I look from now to the past, not just at the specific time area, when the show was made (accept for the things above).
And keep in mind Original and Original for its time are 2 very different things. Double Dragon's kidnapped girlfriend story might have been original for its time, but it is not original any more.
And yes my reviews done are with the broad side of an ax, but there are plenty enough people that take a scalpel to your favorite anime and can stitch it back together when they are done. I on the other bloody hand, am not that guy.

Anyway, you came up with all that shit but still didn't give me what I asked. I was looking foward to recomendations, but instead you just kept explaining stuff, and I don't care about that crap, specially after you said that you're not going at it from a mecha fan perspective.
It's just that when you said that NGE wasn't original, I thought you were some kind of mecha specialist who knew what MECHA anime/manga/whatever should be praised for first giving MECHA a psychological twist instead of evangelion, but now I see that's not the case (you don't even watch mecha anime -_-).

Oh, you said that NGE's story is "nothing that original", so could you help me find anything with a similar story that was made BEFORE Evangelion, since it's not that original anyways.

Popularity overseas only has a partial amount of what's made the anime industry alone grow and evolve, and Eva's impact on the market and crowd is incomparable, only older stuff like the original Gundams that solidified what the medium could do in the first place could be able to rival its importance. Even if you don't like it that much, you should take the time as a fan of anime to sit down and see it through to the end. And DBZ wouldn't exist without Akira anyway, regardless of how much it's "improved" the action genre. And how about not deleting my comment this time?
Yeah Zabuza and Haku are really cool, too bad they just served more as an introduction to Naruto, insteadt of being actually relevant later on. (minor spoiler; they are actually brought back to life in Naruto Shippuuden, only to be killed of like 2 episodes later lol)

hey there, which villain did you mean in your Naruto review (the one that died)? It's been a while since I watched Naruto and I couldn't think of villain at this point in the story who is that charismatic, that you dropped the show because of him (or her)

Nah, there are lots of people (even in my friendslist) with low/medium compatibility.
I watched a lot of older shows from the 80's-90's. So if someone is a fanboy/girl over new stuf, we will most likely not match :)
But I don't really care, 'cause I'm very open minded & I like to discover great titles.
By the way, ours dropped: Now we've got a 'Somewhat High' compatibility ^^
