Early animation in America started with Looney Toons and Disney. Disney had a series of early silent cartoons set to music where mickey mouse was a captain of a steam boat. This anime is exactly like that. Every form of animation has it's start, so this film is great to learn how vast different current anime is today. Just like comparing early Disney films to current ones.

The anime's story may seem odd to some but it is in fact an abstract film. Simply meaning it has no dialogue and relys on imagery alone for the plot. It depicts what ... man will do at any costs for water through slap stick humor mimicking American cartoons style of that time period. Okay so that description alone may seem pretty boring but if you're an art enthusiast you may enjoy seeing a different form of story telling with no dialogue.

So if you'd like to see one of the early forms of what anime originated from I encourage you to watch. But in all fair warning this film is more to be appreciated as history/ an art form rather than just for entertainment sake. Don't get me wrong it is pretty fun to watch but if you rather prefer anime with bishies and shojo .... this probably won't be your thing. But if you're like me and enjoy memorabilia from the 60's and 1950s cartoons this is a great.

First off I'd like to state that up until now I have not been a fan of most Manhwas . . . so this is definitely an unbiased opinion, with that being said here's my review of 'Forest Gray City' also called 'Running through the city in the sunset'.

The story doesn't have deep confusing plot twists and for the most part stays fairly simple. The great part about the story is the characters and dialogue. Sometimes I find in Romance manga, especially in manhwas it seems, is over emphasized drama. In Forest Gray City the Characters' motivation and reactions ... to situations are well portrayed and believable, which is refreshing.

Something I wasn't quite sure if I enjoyed but was unique is that in the plot there was more back story for the supporting characters over the main character. You still are able to understand her motives and drive so in fact the author made it work. I suppose you could say the author felt that a story is only as good as it's weakest character. But there aren't any rabbit trails so everything in the story is necessary.

Towards the end you may feel the story begins to seem rushed but with the emotion building towards the final climax I felt it lead the reader to proper feelings about the ending.

Also I just want to put in a minor side note that the art was quite enjoyable. The character design was creative and aesthetically pleasing.

Just to prove the power of the story and enjoyability again I'll state this review is coming from someone who usually doesn't like Manhwas. But the plot, characters, art, and dialogue were excellently delivered enough to change my opinion.

This manga has the usual cliche moments, the rivalry between main characters hiding their feelings, likable fun supporting characters, and the high school setting. But something that is over looked in shorter mangas that this one definitely delivers.... the twist at the end. The emotional drive put into the story is great. Once you start reading it you will forget how short it is because the characters are so well fleshed out. So if you're looking for a quick read but at the same time something worth reading that's a cute romantic comedy you'll enjoy this manga.

Of course this goes with out saying . . . but I'll say it anyways . . . if you haven't seen the series don't watch the movie. That being noted onto the review.

This movie lives up to the trilogy cliche . . . FILLER. A Trilogy generally follows this pattern:
1st~ Incredible, unique plot that blows you away. EPIC
2nd~ Doesn't live up to the first, sometimes you wish it never had happened.
3rd~ Reminds you of the feelings you had for the first. Brings back the EPIC with a stunning and phenomenal finally

Well, I wouldn't say this second movie is ... something I wish had never happened, but it didn't live up to the first series. Basically it's a bridge that you have to cross to get to the other side. Filler is generally a necessary evil. It's there to help the plot go where the writer wants.

The story does keep true to the character's personalities. In every situation, they respond like you would expect from the series. Don't go into this with high expectations. Expect a story that explains where the series left off and where the third movie will end up. If you weren't a fan of the series don't bother with the movie. If you are a fan of the series, you should watch the second movie to see the progression of story.

In my opinion, instead of being a movie, it really should have been three or four OVAs. It is enjoyable to watch for light comedy and fillers to the plot that will help piece the end together.

This is my first review and I was waiting for the right manga/ anime to start with.

Akaku Saku Koe is a refreshing story plot. The series is shorter, which sometimes can make the story telling harder. In shorter series it either rises to the challenge or fails. This manga definitely rose to the challenge and suceeded in staying true to the plot and keeping interest.

The theme came across well, a gift can be a curse but people in your life can influence you for the good. The plot progresses well and the characters' change and growth moves well. This ... story is definitely a character study. It centers around the character's emotions and reactions to events.

The art is clean and beautiful. It has a unique feel but at the same time the character design is simple.

Though some of the plots seem to be redundant the story is enjoyable. Because of the redundancy you can see the main character act differently and grow from one scenario to the next.

So, This review probably was too long for a shorter series, please bare with me since it's my first review.
