Anime not really known all that well, but worth your time if you like to explore human values. Both are dark, and focus on a stoic protagonist with a talking inanimate companion. Kino seems to be the friendlier one compared to Fumika, who only wishes to do her job. However, both of these characters unveil the world around them and that's what makes these shows special.

Happy Sugar Life

Happy Sugar Life emphasizes the real life monsters, the rapists and abusers you see on the news. Higurashi is an urban legend that will have you thinking as you watch the cast become more violent and/or deranged. But, they're both some of my favorite horror anime that I will never forget because of how well each of their psychological horror truly is.

Both are wonderful films focusing on themes of suicide and depression. However, the biggest difference is likely the tone. Both are dramatic, but Colorful could be considered the more "quiet" version of A Silent Voice. Think of Colorful as a beautiful piano solo, while A Silent Voice is more of a moving orchestra symphony.

Both follow a demon protagonist aiming to fulfill their "evil" duties. Both are comedic, slice of life shows with fantasy elements as their backdrop. Most of all, the comedy in both anime relies on said demons trying to do their duties... only to fail or have other issues hold them back.
