Hi, I'm Mehwish, I intend to watch anime beyond the ones I've seen as a kid on TV, recommendations will be appreciated.
How I started watching anime?
Well, I started watching anime way before I realized that it's called anime and it's different from other animations I watch along with it, I have vague memories of animations I saw as a kid so, I don't know what was my first anime or what other anime I saw around that time, with exceptions like Shinshan, Doraemon, Ninja Hattori, the first two still airs on TV. Back in 2022, after knowing about the difference, I thought of watching more anime and created this account to keep track of my consumption, though my enthusiasm had to be halt for a long while, but now I'm ready to explore.
What other things I'm into?
I intend to study about various stuff, and I'm working on my english for that, I've recently started exploring hindustani literature and for that I'm also learning Urdu and working on my Hindi, currently reading Munshi Premchand works, learning urdu also got me into stuff like poetry and ghazal, here's some beautiful music I discovered.
For my rating system its a bit odd, but is specified that in mu my bio as well, that you read.
Thats fine, i can help gage the convo. I have also read you bio and it mentions that your into hinduism, i dont know much about the cultrue but it sounds cool. I also looked you your "plan to watch" and saw MONSTER in there. I have read and watched it so i can highly say that it worth the watch, and the manga vs anime is a 1 on 1 adaptation so either medium is accurate since adaptations usually suck.
Tell me what are some hobbies you induge in or like. for me im a bio fan of anime, television, novelty books, marvel comics, and also of other miscellaneous stuff.
1. Ah my bad, I meant it in a more general sense since I’m not familiar with what Ghost in the Shell is or what it dives into, though sophisticated and philosophical seem to be like it and I don’t know how else to describe it.
2. I can see where you’re coming from and I can agree with you, and don’t worry I’m listening either way. I enjoy being able to hear others thoughts on things and I’m glad to see what you think about vulnerability and how it brings up the question of one’s mind and existence.
I totally get hesitating about reaching out first
I'm really bad at it!
Melodrama huh? Hmmm, that's not a genre I delve into really but there's definitely a lot of them! The first ones that come to mind are maybe things like Your Lie In April, a very popular melodrama anime about a piano playing guy
Anohana (The flower we saw that day) is another example of a sadder, very melodramatic and also beloved anime
So not to overwhelm you, I'll just throw one more at you!
I personally really like a series called Orange, which also has some melodrama elements
Looking back all of these are kind of sad š
Sorry about that!
Hope if you watch any of these you like them :)
I’ve heard many good things about Ghost in the Shell and how it has a more darker and serious tone, I initially was going to watch it when I was returning from vacation but instead focused on catching up to every single seasonal that I missed during the week I was gone. I will say that my favorites are the ones that have left the most significant impression and impact on me. I personally believe that memories serve as the sole sign of one’s existence and vulnerability is more directed towards our own humanity but I can see where you are coming from.
Enjoy!!
They’re personally more hit or miss on my end but for most people, especially new watchers, they’ll be able to satisfy most needs. Do let me know what you think though :D, I like Grave of the Fireflies and Mononoke Hime the most out of what I’ve seen so far.
Hello :D
Thanks for the fr! Sorry for getting back late I have the memory of a goldfish sometimes and been a tad bit busy
A lot of the things you have are definitely older, so if you're interested in new anime I'd start by asking, what genre do you find hits the most overall?
There actually isn't much to the context, it was the two main leads and a childhood friend for one of them visiting a viewpoint after one of them came over to the grandma's house of the other main lead (Okay that's kind of confusing). It was a very calming scene to see. Oh no, I'm sorry to hear and I hope things improve on your end soon. I used to take things for granted when I was younger, and while I'm still young, anime has taught me a lot of life lessons that I'm grateful for and generally has lead to a huge direction change for me and self-improvement. I'm still working on some aspects though aha.
I'd be more than happy to share and you can speak your thoughts as you continue.
One tip I will give is to never watch more than you can handle, it will eat up a lot of your time unless you drop anime which I personally don't because I'm a lunatic (just joking). I remember coming across that anime and looking at its teaser, though I probably won't watch it any time soon. No problem, many of the works of Studio Ghibli are very known internationally and are generally beloved and I imagine that you will like the majority of them with how intricate and meaningful each film is.
How I view it is an appreciation for both loneliness and for ourselves and the time we have. Being lonely is often seen as a negative thing, like how your peers can bug you to go out with them and what not, that quote comes off to me that we should not see being alone as a bad thing but rather a positive thing on the individual, spending time by yourself can give you much needed room. Thank you thank you, I’m not the best at graphic design but I’m happy with it. I think there’s formats on MAL for profiles and I can lend you the same format I came up with.
Right? I’ve always felt that there’s more to discussion and analysis, its interesting and honestly fun to talk to other people about the same subject and see how different perspectives see the things they do and how it differs from our own.
Hrmm, I’ve been watching a lot of seasonal anime, way more than I initially planned to be honest. I just watched a movie for Spy x Family yesterday evening if you’ve heard of it and before then, I watched some movies for Studio Ghibli like ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ and ‘Ponyo’.
Please don’t worry about it haha, it’s my fault for making it seem that way with my profile design. The quote is from the girl in my profile, Rin Shima and I selected it because of how relatable it is to me.
I hope you check it out soon and let me know what you think :)
It was quite fun but I don’t remember much from it, is there anything else that interests you or anything you want to talk about?
I’m going to clear up this misconception because I’m not a proper camper (probably because of my profile theme and quote) and I’ve technically only gone once. That being said though, I remember it being so relieving and refreshing to embrace nature and sort of detach from technology. The site was pretty cozy at night.
Whenever I move out to Japan, that is when I’ll get into camping properly because of one of my favorite anime, Yuru Camp.

Glad to hear you like the other title. Also, was there any headway in looking for the anime similar to Ghost Files?
