Since no one has made a review for this yet, I figured I'd be the first.
The simplest way to describe this is: if Overlord and HxH fuzed together.
For those who don't know, this light novel is written by the same author as Masou Gakuen HxH. As you can expect, just like the author's previous work, this is some ecchi goodness.
As the time I'm writhing this, only one of the volumes is fully translated, so things can still change a lot, but I'll give my review based on that first volume.
The MC is Doumeguri, an anti-social guy who you'll most likely grow found of as you
...
read. He and his class (and aparently his work collegue, who becomes his slave, spoilers, the sex type) have been send to a MMORPG game world after something went wrong with some VR tec and you get the idea.
The reason why I compared this to Overlord is because Doumeguri, unlike his classmates, is not a normal player. He is, in fact, Hellshaft, the final boss.
Most of his classmates beleive that they can go back to their normal lifes if they kill Hellshaft and go through the Gates of Hell in Infermia's Castle. But, Doumeguri's work collegue tells him that, if they do that, their consciousness will not be able to go back and they will die (and there's also something about Doumeguri and his work collegue not being able to respawn after dying). And so, Doumeguri must work as Hellshaft and defeat his classmates until they are all rescued.
Those who know HxH must imagine what type of story this is, and it is just what you think. Volume 1 alone has four (three, depending on how you count them) scenes of the type, all of which are forced on the female part. But, just like it was with HxH, the girls will probably be doing that out of free will soon enough.
I do recomend you check this out, expecially if you've read and liked Masou Gakuen. It gives an Overlord-like feel and it's still on a early enough stage that you can catch up without having to read through a mountain of volumes. And if you're not expecially found of the ecchi genre, I also recomend you try this, or Masou Gakuen, out. You might just find a new interest in that.

After finishing To Love Ru, I jumped into Darkness.
First of all, the ecchi here is a lot heavier then in the classic To Love Ru not only because the nipples are drawn, but also due to the events that happen (like Rito kissing Lala's "lower lips" multiple times during the manga) and you know what, I like it. I always felt that it's better to have no censor than to have things like hair censoring nipples or convinently placed object in front of X part. Anyway, that's one thing I think Darkness did better.
Another thing was the story. The classic To Love Ru manga had
...
little to no story (save for some chapters), but this one has a story from chapter one up to the end. Basically, we can divide the story into two parts, before Darkness transformation and after Darkness transformation.
Before the Darkness transformation, Momo decides to make Rito's harem, but there are many obstacles in her way, such as Yami having Rito as a target, Mea and Nemessis' plan to turn Yami into Darkness and also who whould take part in the harem. It doesn't take long for there to be some many candidates for the harem that one has to wonder of Rito will survive the honey moon.
After the Darkness transformation, it's time for everyone to change. Everyone begins to work, on their own way, towards the harem, though many don't even realise that. In the final chapters of the manga, Rito is troubled if he should or not accept his harem. Whle he does see it as the only solution for eveyone to be happy, he doesn't accept it at his core, so there are still more troubles to come.
Other than that, there's not much to say. The comedy if funny, the ecchi is good, the characters aren't anoying. Really, is there a reason to dislike this?
(spoiler, by the end of the manga, Rito and Haruna do confess to each other)

I watched the anime for To Love Ru back in 2015, and now, two years after, I decided to pick up the manga so that I can take a look at the next sequel before it becomes an anime.
And I have to say, I'm ashamed I didn't pick this up before. The anime was good, but the manga is also very good. The art style is great and the story is well worked. Each character has their development and we see how and why everyone got into the harem.
It's a bit short for a review, but I don't think I need to say anything else.
...
I highly recoment this manga if you like this types of story. The anime and manga have their diferences, but I think that both versions really work well.

This is quite an interesthing and original story.
Unlike many other Light Novels, this one has an interesthing aspect to it, which is that most of its chapters are disconnected.
Sure, such a thing could easily go wrong, but not on this Light Novel. While I'd recommend for you to read it in orther, there's no need to as most of the characters in each chapter tend to not appear again. Of course, that's not true for all of the characters.
Our protagonist here is Elaina, a witch who, inpired by some novel written by another witch, decided to travel the world to know many towns, peoples and
...
such. In every chapter, she's in a different place with different people and on a different adventure. weather that be her having to find something she lost, having to help someone with something, exploring a strange characterist of some town, or simply on a everyday randown moment.
All in all, I'd say this is a nice story to read along some other story. Sure, Majo No Tabatabi is a great story on its own, but the way it's structured just makes it nice to read a chapter, see some sort of adventure, and then move on to another story, only to come back when the next chapter is released to see a new story for you.
This works great with the way most translators do their, well, translations. Even if the next chapter takes so long to come out that you forgot everything about what happened before, there's not a problem as the previous chapters hardly have much to do with the future ones. Added to that the fact most chapters can be read in around half an hour and you got yourself a nice and light story to read when you feel like it.
So, would I recommend this to someone? Yes, ablsolutely. If you're looking for a nice, original story which is light on the reader, then you got yourself a deal.

Well, this is quite something.
I've only read the first volume, but this seems pretty interesting and funny so far.
Instead of having the protagonist and the main heroine get together, the protagonist and main heroine are son and mother, which leads to some pretty awkward situations that would be considered good in other stories.
For example, there is a scene where the main character is in the bath with three other girls, on of them being his mom. In normal one guy, multiple girls Light Novel, this would mean the begining of a harem, but not here. Since one of the girls is his mother, for as
...
much as the guy wants to look, there's no way for him to do so.
The story also explores a unsual concept, the main character relationship with his mother. Depending on how this is taken, it could lead to a pretty interesting story development.
Anyways, I plan to read more of this and hope this review got you interested enough in this Light Novel.
(BTW, for those who are wondering, no, there is no incest in this and it doesn't seem like there will be. Though the mother has a lot of scenes that makes it feel like she's a harem member on a ecchi story)

After reading some reviws on this,I decided to write one of my own.
Now, first things frist, for the people who didn't read the Light Novel (or Web Novel for that matter) maybe you wouldn't know, but the series doesn't take itself seriously.
You shouldn't watch this if you're looking for something that's gonna break all the cliches for the Isekai genre we've been seeing so far, but, if you're looking for something to kick back and relax, then go all out.
One thing the anime couldn't capture well is the protag's inner dialogue. He recognizes the cliches he's in and isn't as dense as the anime makes
...
him to be (at least in the Web Novel).
The simple idea behind this is that, if you want to watch this, don't do it as a critic but rater as a normal viewer. In all honesty, the anime did fall short on a few things the Light Novel and the Web Novel did a better job at (namely scene development, Ende's participation, which is reduced to only a scene in the anime, and character development), but that's just consequences of it being only a 12 episode long anime. If it had more time, then it could have done a much better job at all that.
If you really want to see what Isekai Smartphone has to offer, then I recomend either the Light Novel or the Web Novel (both actually). The anime is not bad, but these two do a better job at the crucial points.
