Many parallels could be drawn between these 2 series: -Based on 4 panel strips. -The art styles, while not identical, remind me very much of each other. -Both school/slice of life, obviously. -Extensive cast of supporting characters. Nearly every character no matter how minor, has a set of personal quirks and traits that add significantly to the humor and overall feel of the show. -Lead character (Konata/Sunao) lives with their single father, mother deceased. Potemayo lacks the constant barrage of pop-culture references seen in Lucky Star, but ignoring that the style of humor is very similar. Potemayo's cast, in terms of gender ratio is more balanced; it has some moe females in it, but they aren't the overwhelming majority. Lastly, Potemayo has a definite strange/bizzare/LOLWTF factor that is absent in Lucky Star. All in all, if you liked the humor and visual presentation of Lucky Star, Potemayo is seriously worth a look.
