Maybe I'm overrating this series, but to be honest, this has become my favorite anime of all time
InuYasha presents a non-so common type of story, since it has all the action an violcence that shounen use to have, but also features romance, something that's not common on shounen, but in shoujo, we can see how a true love between InuYasha and the priestess Kikyo in the feudal age becomes the start of a terrible fight for the Shikon Jewel, since the demons want it's shards to be stronger, and after Kikyo's death, now her reencarnation Kagome (or Aome, as she's known in the Latin American
...
dubbing) must acompany InuYasha to search for the shards as well as tries to keep a normal life in her age (modern age) and her school
The artstyle is very good, it looks similar, but a little bit more detailed that the one used in the manga, my only critic is that the hair looks a little bit "square", but nothing too bad, also, it's nothing when you see how outstanding and well worked the character desings are
Music and sound effects are just magnificent ("Change the World" is probabbly my favorite anime song), and very inteligent, since it's clasic japanese music with a modern touch
The character are all amazing and very well developed, from InuYasha, the aggresive half-demon that starts to appreciate more his human part, to Kagome, the regular girl who learns to be braver and stronger and finds love in InuYasha, as well as their compains the perver monk Miroku, the naughty kitsune Shippo and the monster exterminatress Sango (I personally love how Sango is a strong woman, but doesn't lose her female style)
The series is really enjoyable, since it has lots of comedy (like Kagome saying "Sit Down!" to InuYasha, and this being smashed in the ground by the juzu on his neck, or Miroku touching Sango in a lewd way), as well as because the emotion, the action in the fights where blood is welcome, and a plot very well done, sadly the original series finished airing with an open ending, but that's a little flow in lots of good things
I'm not good at reveiws, as you can see, but I hope you liked my try to reveiw a series I just love a lot

This is just based on my likes, and since I've not watched many other fantasy anime shows, that'll influct in this review.
(Also, I'm not and expert on English-language, sorry).
In the therms of story, this is not such unique, since souds like a story that any fantasy-themed story would have, but that doesn't have to be bad, actually I liked it, since it makes this show feels like some kind of Midaged Novel, the story about witches against humans, with beastfallens added is something that anyone who wrote a midaged fantasy would make, but that doesn't make the story bad.
The artstyle is something I really enjoyed,
...
character desings and the scenarios are very well done for my taste, maybe some anime I've never watched has better art, but I really like this artstyle, specially the main cast desings, which are very pretty, and I feel they feet very well with them.
Music is good, and kinda reminds me an RPG game, maybe not Final Fantasy, but Fire Emblem or Dragon Quest (haven't played so much games of thouse franchies anyway), but it fits the stage.
Characters are very likeable, specially the main characters, Zero and Youhei make a very funny and cute pair (have to admit I ship them, they'd make a very strange-yet-cutie couple), but have to say that character development on some of the main cast as Holdem and 13 is rushed, in that way, the anime should've had more chapters to develop them (and I feel should be overall longer).
Enjoyment is very well done, since when we see jokes, they're very funny and well done, a very good example are the first three chapters, that play with the Zero's rough and a little bit prissy personality, as well as her ignorance of the world's common rules, also taking Youhei in a very fun way (if you haven't noticed it, I really like them as characters, they're amazing), also, fights are overall well done, and the series doesn't fear to show blood, not a gore-level, but it's the fair amount of it.
Overall, I enjoyed this series at all, but mostly because I like mideged fantasies and kemono-like characters, also, Zero and Youhei's relationship is one of the most spectal-keeping part of the show, I recomend, but know that many people will feel this as a generic fantasy anime, which I don't care, I just enjoyed it and that's all.
