Welcome to my MAL page. You may be confused at the ratings I have given the anime I've watched. Here's an explanation:
If I give anything a 5 or less, it's not included on here. That's why you'll see most everything with 8's or 9's.
If I give something a:
6=Means that it didn't keep me interested/faded interest or the show wasn't great.Typically the former rather than the latter reason, though. Commonly given to dropped shows. Lowest rating.
7= Wasn't terrible, but typically not on my re-watch list. Mediocre.
8= Show kept my interest and did a good job at giving me my source of entertainment.. Mentionable.
9= Show connected to me in a great way and kept me entertained. One of the things that I first mention to other people, generally.
10= My favorite shows and highly recommend them to anyone else.
A few other notes:
-Crayon Shin-chan refers to the English dub Funimation did. I haven't watched any of the subs.

Also can you trust me since I was right with hunter x hunter? Try Hajime no Ippo, its a series that you will think you will hate but it will turn out to be one of the best animes you will ever seen. I put off watching it for like 2 years cause I thought it would be crap since its about boxing; I was pleasently surprised that I was wrong :D.
I know more than that but I reckon those two will keep you going until you need more :).
Its a shame but hunter x hunter (2011) is a bit of a let down so far. (its just a remake of the old one but its just not as good)
Glad to know Hunter x Hunter is going well. Are you watching the orignal series or the remake?
Boogiepop was okay, but to really understand what was happening you kind of need the supplemental material, which I didn't have on me. I didn't find a whole lot of it shocking or disturbing- something I look for in anime that are generally considered horror. Strongest Disciple just wasn't my cup of tea- I don't really care for straight-up fighting anime where the goal is to get stronger and defeat X number of enemies to be Number One. My brother really enjoys it, though, so this is entirely personal preference.
I've been debating on watching or reading Black Cat. I might just do both, since it's considered an above-average series.
I like dark and twisted, so I should be fine watching Black Lagoon. I'm over 18 so no one's really gonna care! ^.^
I think Hunter x Hunter will go on my to-read list.
Glad to hear the comments about the rest. Those will go up in priority since I've heard similar things about them from other people.
watch this one not the new one; so far the old one is much better....
