The fast paced gags and jokes coupled with the absurdity of the characters show the similar styles of comedy that Nourin and Binbougami ga! share. The shows enjoy making constant references and parodies to other popular anime such as Death Note, adding to its absurd style of comedy. Though comedy centric they're also able to show a more serious side to their characters and themes, displaying the show's ability to provide hilarity as well as moral questions and lessons.

Dialogue heavy anime with a focus on a group of friends discussing various every-day topics with occasional references and jokes. Incredibly laid back as they're down to earth and occasionally relate able. Biggest difference is Lucky Star's theme of otaku culture while Joshiraku tends to focus on more general Japanese topics.

So you like cute girls? How about inexplicit lesbian relationships? So how about cute girls in inexplicit lesbian relationships? Well if you do then you're in luck since that's pretty much what most "cute girls life" shows boil down to. I mean, they don't really explain or delve into their semi-platonic relationship but lesbianest, it's obvious that they're passionately sprouting for one another.

Far-fetched? Possibly, but at its core Gintama and Kuuchuu Buranko are anime focusing on an individual's story in a world where everyone has a story. While Kuuchuu Buranko tends to delve into psychology their focus on storytelling and the use of an indirectly/directly involved protagonist leads to heart-warming tales. They also have their fair share of dirty jokes.

It might seem like a bit of a long shot, but Gintama and Darker than Black do share similar elements especially in story structure. The obvious difference is that Gintama is full of slapstick and dirty jokes while Darker than Black has no comedy at all (that I can recall). The similarities come in its story telling; once Gintama establishes its world and characters the show focuses on telling stories about new guest/side-characters usually in 2-3 episode arcs. Darker than Black does the same but in 2 episode arcs. The protagonists, Sakata Gintoki in Gintama and Hei in Darker than Black, usually play a back-seat role in these stories with them being the one that resolves the conflict even if they weren't all that present during the arc. If you are looking for something with slapstick and dirty jokes or something with a mature world and characters then I can't recommend these two, but If you are looking for something that follows that style of story telling then these might be for you.

Currently the Gugure! Kokkuri-san manga has only 2 chapters scanlated. Thus this review will be mostly based on knowledge from the show and those 2 chapters. So we got a little girl, a gang of supernatural bishounens, and a whole lot of fun! These comedy orientated manga/anime are focused on the mishaps of a little girl's life surrounded by spirits, demons, and priests, oh my! While there is a form of "romance" in the story it really turns into a parental sort of relationship, as the older spirit/demon becomes the guardian of the little girl they were initially trying to harm. Through the constant gags and hilarious dialogue exchanges there are also more serious moments that explore some of the supernatural themes, such as the importance of one's life. These two series will make you laugh as well as tug your heartstrings, creating an enjoyable experience that will likely make you go "ahahaha!" and occasionally "awww". So yeah, if you watched Gugure! Kokkuri-san and wanted to read something similar then check out Ore ga Akuma. If you read Ore ga Akuma and wanted to watch something similar check out Gugure! Kokkuri-san.

What do you get when you mix a bunch of oddballs, superhuman abilities, and sports? Your typical shounen/sports series that's what! So how do these two differ from that? Well, not that much really but that's probably why they are so similar. While the sports themselves are different the way the team and the individual players play follow similar styles. "If they score then we'll just score 10x more!" are their team mottoes as they both play as offensive, high scoring teams. The protagonists Kuroko/Sena are pretty much the same character as their weak appearance and unique ability make them both the underdog and star player. This leads to games that are interesting as well as exciting due to it becoming a David vs Goliath scenario.

Children and child-like girls under the care of an older relative. Umaru and Yotsuba are childish characters that cause mischief for their caretakers making their lives troublesome but interesting. While Umaru is older than Yotsuba they both share a carefree and vibrant personality. The themes are also different with Himouto! Umaru-chan using Otaku culture such as video games and anime/manga in its humor, while Yotsuba follows a more general slice of life theme and a child's curiosity. Though the themes may be different the implementation and execution of said themes are handled in a similar way. Overall they are both enjoyable slice of life manga sharing a child/parent relationship and in Himouto! Umaru-chan's case, younger sister/older brother.

Workplace comedies featuring a cast of multiple male and female mains each with their own distinctive quirks. The cast consist of both high-schoolers and adults. The comedy is centred around the quirks of each character and their interactions between co-workers. The most similar characters are Sommelier and Souta Jun as they can be considered 'gentle giants', appearing tall and menacing but are actually kind. There is romance in both with characters having obvious pairings with one another. Overall, funny and enjoyable workplace comedies featuring a cast of quirky and lovable characters.
