Both shows explore the magical girl genre in unique ways that are similar to each other. They both include similar progression of the dynamic between the main character and the leading man, so I think if you like one then you'd also like the other. Instead of having a team of other magical girls, both main characters have a group of less similarly powered friends to support them. They both also have the monster of the week, collecting something important format. Overall, if you're looking for something similar to one of these, you should give the other a shot. They hit a lot of the same niches.
