I have been hearing good things Disco Elysium. I need to take the plunge and try it out one day. I’m trying to catch up on Legend of Heroes games since we are slowly catching up localization wise.
I want to say the same old for the new star ocean. A much stronger title then the previous entry. I keep expecting a sci fi epic but they love the whole fantasy stuff more. Not a bad thing but the 4th game really scratch my itch of seeing more. Gameplay wise I really like it. Combat is still fun and post game is a great distraction. Only thing I was disappointed in was the world/areas. They made the areas more open and more of reason to explore but it feels so barren or missing charm. Like I enjoyed going out of my way to explore in Xenoblade 3 but even with more ways to explore and even easier in SO6 I just didn’t feel the urge to do it.
Currently debating on playing Witcher 3 on the side since the next gen version is out. Here so much about it and I really enjoyed Cyperpunk so just got to make time.
Yeah I get you. You are right I’m not much of a PC/Steam gamer but I do know when that gaming itch happens you take what you can get. My main switch was in repairs and my friend let me borrow his switch lite. I do prefer TV mode but I did want to play the games I had backlogged so I just played it all in portable.
What are you playing right now on switch? I finally finish Tales if Arise and currently going through Soul Hackers 2. On the switch side slowly chipping at xenoblade 3.
Oh that’s sounds great. Congrats on the 100 days. Not much from me on anime. I’m really loving Isekai Ojisan. I need to get more serious and see other shows I neglected on.
Not much new for me. I feel I’m stuck in the motions now. Wake up, go to work, go to gym, cook dinner, try to play a game for an hour then back to bed.
Congratulations on your books release. 😊
After SMTV I played through Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring. I enjoyed horizon but some stuff I prefer what the first game did. In Elden Ring case I haven’t finished it yet. I can see why the fanbase loves to say “git good.” I’m slowly chipping away at it.
While trying to protect my ego from dying so much in elden ring. I played and beaten the next gen version of Cyperpunk 2077. I played it back when it launched on ps4 I think two years ago but it was so buggy and I only did the prologue. Playing the new update now it’s like a different game. I really enjoyed my time with it. The story and characters I really enjoyed. I wish the story campaign was a little longer. The gameplay isn’t bad but if you like to be a jack of all trades you can’t. You have to decide as soon as possible what you want your V to be.
It wasn’t bad. It was the same old formula just pulled a little P5 and changed how you explored the dungeons. Which to me just needs a few little tweaks on the map since some of the later maps get so vertical that it’s hard to tell if a chest I’m going for is above or below me.
The gameplay rocks though. I don’t really have any complaints on that. Story is the lowest point. I guess they were aiming for more nocturne lovers it felt so less of stuff happening. While strange journey and SMT 4 felt so story heavy. I honestly hope they pull a sequel game like they did with SMT 4. The game just had such an interesting world and more characters to expand on.
Nothing new with me when it comes to my love life. I either get catfish or just a one date guy. I do get regrets on that one since we got that far. Oh well.
Ah I see what you mean. The only game I really had time for was Shin Megami Tensei V. Though that was thanks to it releasing on the weekend and I took some personal days to play it. I'm also excited for RF5 and I can't wait for it. Thanks to MLK weekend I finally got through Horizon Zero Dawn and I can't wait for its sequel.
Well, nothing too exciting for me these past few years. I almost got married but we both got cold feet at the last moment. Thinking about it makes sense we both met online and we clearly rushed into it. Other than that, I just worked a whole lot while my job pays for more education for me. I'm finally an assistant catering manager. Not sure this is what I wanted since I went to college for Computer Science and Networking but I'm enjoying this. That's a win, I guess.
I completely forgot about Discord. That's pretty cool to watch stuff with people. I keep forgetting to use that to talk to some of my old friends.
I’m sorry for being out of touch. I definitely suck at small talk. Im doing well. Not much changed just a lot of work. Yeah the same with me I’m not watching much anime. I try to squeeze in some but it never works out. Are you still playing games?
Wow congrats on being a published author. You got to tell me when they are out so I can read them.
That’s good to hear about you avoiding it. It looks like it’s spiking up again and I just thought of you. Well take care of yourself, Kira.
You made it to the 2nd part of the game so you are past the halfway mark. Though there is more story to uncover in the postgame so if you are counting that then yeah you got a while. I say you should count it since its best to consider the game in three Acts. Not sure why they let the credits roll so quickly but the postgame story is what everyone considers the true ending. Thats all I will say when it comes to that.
I haven't beaten Valkyria Chronicles 4 yet or even gotten far. I think Chapter 7 since I got distracted with Red Dead Redemption 2, Punch Line and We Happy Few. A character the same tier as Marina? I would say its another sniper Kai though people seem to love Riley also.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was amazing. I didn't like some of their gameplay choices but the story and the characters were great to me. I honestly wish they could find some way to condense it since I must have spent over 60 hours trying to complete that story. Punch Line is if you have seen the anime by the guy who did Zero Escape series. Not bad but if you seen the anime not worth playing even with the new scenario. We Happy Few was great I encounter some hilarious bugs but I really enjoyed the tone, atmosphere and the humor it reminded me of BioShock.
Thats kinda funny. Oh this random NPC you met on a sidequest is doing bad things for the big bad. xD I guess that was their goal of having people make their own adventure by less interaction and making them not mandatory. It sounds like it was a bad flaw in other ways also since I also heard people who only recruited four people they like the most then realize they had to get the others up to speed to use them in the post game.
Yeah I lost my life with gambling in that badly. Hard to help it since I got costumes, ygg leaves (I probably threw the whole difficulty of the game out the window with those) and also got Plat Broadsword. That Broadsword can last a long time especially if you haven't mastered the funsize forge yet for +3 weapons. It gets even worse when new items become available. I'm glad you are not that far into it and you are already liking it.
Other then DQ I'm just playing Valkyria Chronicles 4. Its the same as 1 but more improvements and refinements. Not bad at all to me. Though I haven't scratch the surface yet.
I heard about that the post game just sucks up all the fun out of the game. Which is sad since I heard that it ties all their stories together.
Onto other news finally beat Dragon Quest XI. I got to say I really enjoyed it. Dragon Quest VIII meant a lot to me and was excited for XI since it was finally a console release one for after a decade. Though I will still continue to play since I got some more post game to look forward to.
Yeah that is true. I'm not sure I got all my thoughts organized for DQXI yet since all the complaints seem to be just their effort I suppose. They were able to get orchestrated music in the spin offs but couldn't in the mainline title.
Crap I forgot about your Bday. Happy Belated Birthday, Kira!
Oh I didn't know you picked up a Switch. You are better then me I don't reach and stop close to the end. I played like an hour or hit the midway point. I start to question myself why I even bothered to open up the plastic wrap if I wasn't going to play it. Well you got a goal now so I have a feeling you will eventually be playing DQ11 soon.
Oh I got nothing to watch for Summer anime. All the stuff I'm looking forward to is coming out in Fall. It seems Summer season is perfect to try to catch up with stuff when I was aggravated from my job and decided to avoid anime and games.

I was wondering how have you been? Are you still working on the second book? Are you playing anything new?
Right now I’m working on the post game of the new Star Ocean game.

Only a couple of days till Dragon Quest 11. You excited?
