First thing please watch this show!! SEASON 2 is the biggest upgrade I've ever seen in anime ever!!!

I want to completely admit I have a fondness for isekai even the clearly lower ones because to me it's very easy watching and I get a lot of wish fulfillment out of them. I get to live vicariously through the bland main character going on adventures an enjoying harems. So I pretty much give every isekai a shot. I recognize Overlord and Tanya the evil to be the best. I wanted to say that for reference. So when I startes watched a Million Lives I wasn't expecting ... Overlord or Tanya the evil. I just wanted to watch an easy show.

And admittedly it seems that way in the beginning it seems like an easy show with a slight twist on what is isekai with the usual oh crap we can die it's a harem its an edgy protagonist and the first season is good and somewhat follows that formula. Don't get me wrong I love it but I can understand people saying it's just an isekai.

BUT SEASON 2 IS INSANE!! I don't know if they received new writers or they purposely pulled what I want to call the Hunter X Hunter bait and switch. When I say that I mean at first your like this show is bright and seemingly not dark but then it's like holy crap we have deaths here deaths there we have darkness hiding under the colorful imagery. And this isn't just for edgy sake like many other anime do. Don't get me wrong it's not Attack on Titan with deaths every episode. But the deaths and danger seem so real. It's been a while since I'm genuinely suspenseful of death.

(EXTREMELY MINOR SPOILER- the protagonist revive if they die so long as someone is still alive in there party) So you don't worry about the protagonist dying or injured it's the people around them that makes it suspenful. And you care for these character and if anything were to happen how that would affect the main party/protagonist.

Speaking on the non main cast every single person has a nice fleshed out personality and everyone helps. The main character will always be the focus but he is not the be all end all which I love. Other characters get to shine and love.

MY FAVORITE PART- I HONESTLY ALMOST CRIED. Season 2 has a character thats not even a main character and a scene with that character that literally made me teary eyed and so much bitter sweetness. It was so sad but so happy and beautiful. One of my favorite anime moments of all time. That is all I will say. WATCH IT!

Animation- I know you might see the animation and clearly it doesn't have a massive budget put please don't let that stop you from watching it. I'm begging you if you read all of this atleast get to season 2 episode 5. Trust this random ranting stranger begging you to give this anime a shot. I need more people talking about it and at least 6 more seasons.

Season one was a good 7 out of 10 show but season 2 is cracking up to be an amazing 8 or 9 out of 10 if they continue with these amazing stakes character and story. I am so desperate for the next episode right now.

And the sad part about this show is people may not get to experience how amazing season 2 is because season on is not as amazing.

Characters :10/10 Characters characters characters characters... yes yes yes yes!!!!!! It has been such a long and terrible time since I have come a across an anime with so many lovable characters. From Waver (Lord El-Melloi II) to Gray, to Karabo and everyone else. Every single character at least to me was absolutely amazing. Their motive their actions decision to choices all seemed so real and in character. I have seen hundreds of anime where characters do stupid shit or annoying or out of character garbage that makes no sense. I really wish I could write it down to explain it but I would much ... rather have a conversation or even go through scene by scene of the whole show and individually explain why I love each character and why I love their actions. Each character has a certain charm that absolutely made me love all of them I honestly don't know how to put into writing but I will try my best. And when (minor spoiler) the train stopped I literally got up and begged that no other character would be killed off.

I could not believe it myself! I wanted not a single one of the characters to die that is crazy thing for me to want while watching anime.

I felt like I went crazy writing that so let me clear my head and continue. Waver was my second favorite character from Fate/Zero after his servant Aleksander the Great or Rider to make it easier. They absolutely stole the spotlight in that series( one of if not the best big bro little bro dynamic/ similar to Kamina from Gurren Lagann and Takamura from Hajime no Ippo) and I was exited to see Waver again after having to drop the pile of garbage disappointing nonsense of a series called Unlimited Blade Works which was garbage and left such a bad taste in my mouth having to drop the 4 different times I tried to watch.

But this series is just without a doubt plane and simply amazing.

Waver has this charming knowledgeable but somewhat sad air about him (because of how his participation in the Holy Grail War went I truly feel like he did nothing wrong but he has genuine regret that honestly made him even more likable and understandable). But for me and I hope other who watch this will truly admire and all the other characters played off of him perfectly.

This anime had perfect interactions between character. They felt like real people not characters from a story. Interactions that were never forced annoying or illogical like many on top of many anime are. All interactions pushed the story forward. Right now as I write this I still don't know how they were able to make every single character even the villains but they certainly did. I have never liked so many characters in one anime as much as I do in this series. Truly well done. I would honestly love to go through every single character and say why I love them individually if I had the time.

The tone of the series was serious but it had many light-hearted moments and moments where the viewer can smile or even laugh that also fit in perfectly and was never out of place. In an early ep there is a moment when Reines get sick and is in a room with Waver alone and makes a joke that makes Waver blush. That is one of the most perfect moments of comedy and warm moments I have ever seen in any media from anime to live action to movies to books. When she said that and you saw that Waver blushed and acted as if he was that teenager talking to rider from Fate/Stay you know it is the exact same character just older. That in and of itself is also a truly amazing feat. And I believe that only a cold hearted person who does not know the meaning of friendship would not understand. It was a beautiful moment.

Another thing about the characters that you see is the love waiver has for his students. It also does something else with this that I've only seen in one other anime in which Waver is the weakest person in the series. That is made clear but you can see how much each and every one of his student love and cherish him. He cares for, knows, understands and talks to his students because he was once in their shoes. I love Waver or Lord El Melloi so much. Again only in Hunter X Hunter have I seen a main character who at all points throughout the story is the weakest. He is not overpowered hes not a chosen one; he is just a person like anyone who is just kind. Watch this series please trust me.

Story: 9/10 The story isn't a game changing new story but it was amazing I would love to give it a 10 out of 10. But I will have to re-watch it 2 more times before I could do that. I only give 10s to series that I have re-watched at least 2 times.But I do know for certain within the next few months I will be watching this series again. I don't want to ruin anything so watch the series.

Sound: 10/10 I guess I don't really care. It could be mute and I would still watch. But it was good. I am eagerly awaiting the dub though.

Art: 10/10 It is Ufotable if it wasn't a 10 that would be a surprise.



Enjoyment: 10/10 Through the roof through the sky and surpassed my expectations. Like I said I dropped Unlimited Blade Works which was such a disappointment and seeing this it turned my frown upside down. The characters were so good.



Watch this series please to show anime creators what we want in anime.

Where to begin. Pretentious. Plain and simple.

This anime is awful. In all the anime I have seen I believe an overwhelming majority of them had something to say and left the viewer with at least one thought at its conclusion. This does not do that in the slightest. That is not without it trying to do so.

Story: Garbage confusing and says nothing. IN the end it left me feeling and asking for what reason was this made.

Art: The art was very impressive and fluid. I will without a doubt mention that merit which it indeed deserves. The action scenes are very well choreographed ... and in full attention as well as the character designs which were absolutely inspired... EXCEPT the annoying blushed cheeks on Lily which I hate to a point of rage but the annoyance of the cheeks is minor compared to my hatred of Lily as a character which ill discuss further down.

Sound: The sound was good i guess I don't really pay attention to that. I could probably watch any anime on sub on mute no issue. But the English voice actors were good fit the characters well again I don't really care much about the sound.

Characters: Lily.. Lily... Lily... Oh Lily another Nami-Sakura character. by that i mean loud aggressive overbearing piece of anime rubbish. In all honestly she did not do one single thing in the entire series of importance or added to the plot whatsoever. NOT ONE SINGLE THING. As i am typing this i feel so upset but i can say calmly i just want the people making anime to stop making characters ]like this. I know there supposed to be loud and scream at the protagonist in a loving jovial way that is supposed to be light-hearted but please STOP. Characters like this are the most annoying worthless upsetting part if the anime. Looking at the tone of this anime this character does not belong. even in a comedy anime. And I am not saying there shouldn't be lighthearted and funny moments but don't make everytime a character like this come on screen in ruins the whole atmosphere. And I want to make something clear I love over the top loud characters examples being Kamina from Gurren Lagann. But there is a point where it goes overboard./ I mean look at the way Lily talks to her superiors at work. SHe is a cop have some respect. Im gonna stop because I could do an essay on Nami-Sakura characters and i want to stop.

Otherwise the other characters were okay there was no development in characters at all. If you examine all the characters from beginning to end you notice that nothing changes AT ALL. Yes things happen there was a beginning middle and end in a story and characters received more information and did things as the story progressed. NOTHING CHANGES IN THE STORY AT ALL development wise.



Overall: I didn't like it. I want to say I DIDN"T LIKE IT AT ALL but i would be lying at the sole fact that I enjoyed the first fight on the train and the characters looked great apart from LIly's cheeks.


But i would be remiss if I didn't recommend an alternative to this waste of time so I will say that if you watched this for the same reason I did which is it looked cool and the trailers showed good action and an amazing story of mystery. You should and I say you should again. Make sure you watch Monster and Hunter X Hunter. Give monster 2 episode and I promise you will love it. and i dont really have to mention why you should watch HXH ask anybody who have seen it.
