Hey,
if you like Death Note, you should definitely watch "Code Geass", even if you don't like mechas. The main character also gets a super power with that he tries to change the world and must keep his identity a secret. Both anime are awesome, but Code Geass has more action.

Something similar to Elfen Lied is harder to find, but if you like mystery-horror with lots of blood you should watch "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni". Another dark and deep anime is "Neon Genesis Evangelion", although it is more psychological and has less violence.

I haven't seen Bleach, so i can't recommend similar series, but other action-shounen-animes I can recommend in general are "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" (extremely over the top action) and "Durarara!!" (mystery).

That's it. Watch Code Geass (R1 and R2), you won't regret it. ;-)

I watched Soul Eater today and it seems good shounen. There are shinigami and shinigami students in Soul Eater. Fighting scenes are good too. I recommend you soul eater :) You can check Katekyo Hitman Reborn too, I am not watching yet katekyo hitman reborn but I plan to watch nowadays
