This anime is meant for a certain set of people who like the age gap romance stories. I am not one of those people and I only started the anime not realizing what it was. I wish I didn’t have this problem where if I start something I must finish it or it will bother me, because that’s the only reason I watched to the end. So, just be aware that my review may not give this show justice but I’m trying to be fair.
(Mild spoiler warning here on in) It felt uncomfortable to watch most of the time being that the male protagonist
...
really pushes his feelings onto his love interest. I’m not sure I would enjoy watching a guy do that to a girl of the same age, so I definitely don’t enjoy seeing it happen to a younger girl. She is even visibly disturbed by all of it, but somehow still ends up slowly falling for him. In fact, at a particular part of the series where both protagonists have other characters taking interest in them individually, I was hoping it would work, just so I wouldn’t have to see a grown man hitting on a high school girl anymore (I knew it wouldn’t happen since that would defeat the purpose of the story but a guy can dream…).
The characters themselves aren’t anything different and the only reason I don’t like the protagonists is because one is creepy (he’s literally called that in the anime too) and the other one just seems easily manipulated after enough force. The only thing I saw good about the male protagonist was that near the end he becomes aware of how assertive he was but by then it seemed pointless to even come to that realization since he’s already won the girl over for the most part.
Putting my personal tastes aside though, it was a pretty mediocre show. Art was average, story didn’t seem special (aside from the age difference aspect), and I will probably forget the characters in a week. I tried to watch the last few episodes from the point of view that the main girl is almost an adult and then it will be fine, but since the anime was all about a guy chasing a young girl I still couldn’t feel comfortable watching it. Therefore, I just couldn’t really care to try and find the silver linings, so I’m sorry if you enjoy big age differences but it’s just not for me. So, if you do like that kind of stuff, you may enjoy it and I don’t judge you… we all have something different we like. If you’re like me then I suggest you just skip it since it isn’t really worth your time if you’re only gonna be uncomfortable while watching.

There is a reason Komi is my pfp...
I came across this manga by sheer chance and now, somehow, it will remain my favorite for eternity. I shall worship my goddess until I am put into the ground.
Okay, all memes aside, I find it amazing how this manga sucked me in. The relationships between the characters, the incredible way Tomohito Oda can fit so much life in four panels, and the humorous interactions keep me from putting the series away (the gorgeous and absolute precious being that is Komi-San is totally not the only real reason). The story is hard to really describe or critique
...
since it is mostly just filler (hence why I rate the story only an 8 compared to my totally not biased ratings of 10), but dammit, when a real event that actually means something happens, it is feckin amazing and I love every page. I'll be hella sad when this series ends but I know the ending will be one to remember since, as I said, the important events are amazing. And really, I can't complain about everything in between the big occurrences because it is so entertaining. There are many characters that get introduced over time. It is a little overwhelming but their personalities are so hilarious or stupid that it adds to the joy of reading each chapter, just don't expect deep backgrounds for each of them (not that anyone cares since apes like me could be happy with a picture of komi each page). So maybe it's overrated because of fans like me... but if that is true... there isn't a number that exists yet to describe how many damns I give.
If you want a funny, somewhat romantic, and easy read starring the cutest, the mutest, most wholesome, precious, beautiful, S-Tier waifu in existence... then Komi Can't Communicate is a manga for you.
I hope you enjoy it

I saw this manga as I was browsing some bookshelves and thought it would be a cute and unique story. Yes, it was cute; the protagonist has a cute little love story. She discovers what love is through some dramatic interactions shown in some beautifully drawn scenes and had a satisfying ending... I guess (more on that later).
Yes, it was unique... but only in the sense that photography was involved. Honestly, that was the only reason I bought the books because I love photography myself, but it didn't really spice anything up all that much. The photography theme is very important to the progression of

the story, sure, but it still just didn't make it feel that much more special than a normal romance story, at least to me.
Something that is a little disappointing to me is that early from the start of the story, you can pretty much take an educated guess who this girl is gonna get with and you won't be wrong about it (sorry if that ruins it once you start reading it). The story doesn't make you get on the edge of your seat in anticipation or make you wonder what is gonna happen. I think it doesn't have as much excitement as other love stories in the manga/anime biz.
The characters are all likable but you don't learn much about them, only a little stuff important in the current scene to progress the story. It's only three volumes (sixteen chapters) though, so I can understand why not much information was given and I'm probably just being too critical because I really like deep, interesting characters.
After finishing, it... well... it didn't seem finished. That's why I THINK the ending was satisfying. It was a happy, romantic ending that any romance story lover would want, only, it felt like it could've been better. Despite all that, it was still enjoyable to read and I don't regret buying it. I loved the art style and theme, plus it was just relaxing and made me feel good afterward. It did leave me wanting more but I suppose it might be possible to have too much of a good thing...
So, if you like good 'ole, cute romance with a different theme intermixed (don't expect much else entirely different though) then this manga is a read for you.

If you like science, world-saving adventures, and large casts of hilarious characters you should watch this anime. Before I continue, I want to point out that MAL’s description of Dr. Stone may be a little misleading. They focus too much on Taiju and his confession to his crush and so on, that which makes Senku (the real protagonist) not seem like an important MC. As a matter of fact, Taiju will not be seen for most of the series due to events in this first season. So don’t go into the show thinking you’re gonna follow Taiju as he saves the world and tries to

get the girl, ‘cause it isn’t all about that. I guess I’m just telling you this because I went into the series thinking it WOULD be like that to which I was surely surprised, but maybe you are already smarter than me and I didn’t really need to warn you lol.
Anyway, I’ve read all the manga currently available and I absolutely love how they executed its anime to the point I’d call it my favorite shōnen series. The story at first seems real fast to me but then all of sudden slams the brakes. I won’t complain much about it, however, it did feel like I waited a long time for the “main event” (per se) of the story arc to occur. Every episode was still exciting though and left me anxious for the next episode. Character development is a little slow but I think it’s only that way because it’s a long story (when you read the manga) and the individual personalities are so vibrant anyway that I ended up not needing much information about them because I just found them so entertaining.
After watching this season and the newest season (Stone Wars), I’m genuinely excited to see the next story arcs animated and cannot wait to hear Senku’s amazing voice actor, lol. I hope you can enjoy this awesome show too.

Before I even realized MAL existed, when I first started watching anime, I came across this show that I consider to be a gem. Maybe it’s because I didn’t have any other romcom anime to compare it to when first watching, so my opinion might be skewed, but this has to be my favorite romance anime. I was surprised to see the low-ish rating and so many other reviews being so critical on this anime. I mean, I am by no means a pro reviewer and it’s not like I’m saying they are wrong, but I think once in awhile you just gotta enjoy the

show for what it is and not pick it apart so much that it ruins the experience you could be having. (Mild spoiler warning) The story has that somewhat annoying “MC has amnesia” trope, but I was able to get past that since the protagonist (Banri) didn’t dwell on getting his memories back for most of the anime and ended up not really wanting the memories back anyway. I hadn’t really seen something like that before so I thought it was kinda interesting. There is also somewhat of a love triangle used in the plot, but again, I could get past it because it just enabled some dramatic scenes between the protagonists (Banri and Kouko) and would lead to them getting even closer together. The way the characters developed seemed rewarding to me as well. It’s not Clannad level character development, but it was definitely better than the show leading you on for a whole season wondering “will they do this?” “Will that happen?” if you understand what I mean.
Now, after watching it a second time (and having more anime knowledge), I can understand what people may dislike about it, but nonetheless, I still enjoyed the hell out of watching it. I’m not gonna convince anyone reading this that you should love this like I do or you are wrong; if you want to be critical of it then go ahead, but I think, if you just want an anime that has some great, well-created characters and a rollercoaster love story that might mess with your emotions during and after watching… then Golden Time is good for you.
