Cute AF: The Anime, is... *cough* sorry, I meant Taishou Otome Otogibanashi, is one of the most unrealistic, hopeless romantic pleaser series I have ever seen and I fecking love it. I'm serious lads... this one is so cute and so wholesome, there is almost nothing real about the story. I've seen a lot of people complain about that and give this a low score but isn't escapism the whole point of an anime like this? If we watched realistic stories all the time we'd be hella depressed. you want to watch then no one will judge you), but a tremendously overblown love story such as this, is just dumb fun and helps you forget your worries sometimes (like paying your tuition!).
This is no masterpiece of an anime but it is still a breath of fresh air in a telecast season (as of writing this) that has been mildly disappointing.
The story. You've got this kid, his hand be broke, father not stoked... so what would any loving father in the Taishō Period of Japan do with his poor disabled son? F^ggin dump his son's ass in the middle of nowhere and state him as dead to the family that's what *cue The More You Know screen*. Yeah, so now our boi be depresso, sadly there is no espresso in this time, so his father decides he'll arrange a marriage for this sad sack of potatoes. Enter the sweetest, the most wholesome, the most precious, the most innocent, the most *insert really cute or good female trait here*. Our female protagonist comes to the rescue of the poor kid and even falls for the kindness he exhibits sometimes. You can't have a story without conflict though, so tension will rise because sad boi is convinced he can do no good for a girl this damn precious, but through love and acceptance, he will learn how to overcome the obstacle.
Yeah, it's kind of corny looking back on it, but as you see the development of their relationship over time you can't help but just smile... it's just too damn cute. There was plenty of comedy too, granted, not all that spectacular... just the normal, teenage-love jokes administered through the awkward moments, but some of them can still make you chuckle. The drama is pretty okay too, and I say that since it isn't a type of drama that leaves you worried about the end result. As-in, you already know that whatever they're going through, it will still have a happy ending or zero consequences. I think that is common with any SOL/romance at this point, but this anime doesn't do well at putting you on the edge of your seat during tense scenes. Overall, I think the story is good just for how cute and satisfying it is. It's easy to enjoy and that was all that really mattered in the end.
The characters. So... you have sad boi... the male protagonist is just wallowing in his depression for the start of the series, which is annoying at first, but that's the point. The story is about him getting out of that, after all, and seeing his development from the edgy, worthless kid... to the kind-hearted and dedicated man was pretty satisfying. He actually tries to improve his life and move on from the dark hole he locked himself up in. It was so great to see a character like that actually make progress. But of course, none of his progress would have been possible without our female protagonist, who persevered sad boi's cold shoulder until her own dedication and kindness got through to him. Watching her reactions alone is so damn entertaining and cute that a whole episode of just her would be enough, but then you throw in the sad boi and you've just got a recipe for, "Awwwww...". They aren't the only characters of course. You gotta add in more so we can have some drama, but most of the supporting characters are kind of forgettable after the episodes dedicated to them. They will come back in other episodes, but they don't seem all too necessary half of the time. They are all likable, that isn't the problem, but they just don't seem important after their story arcs (to me at least). Otherwise, this anime was instantly a good rating to me because the development was exactly what I want in any show.
The animation/art. So the art style was new to me... and I'm not sure if I liked it or not. It is not bad, it's just different compared to almost everything else. The design for some characters I thought was beautiful and the others felt uncanny to me. Not sure if this only affected me, but I thought I should at least comment on it for your own information. The animation was of good quality, however, some scenes felt like slideshows rather than smooth animation. Not a huge deal to someone like me, but it can ruin the immersion a little bit.
Would I recommend this? Yes. It's a common SOL/romance, but it is done well, plus the whole historical setting adds a little spice. It's not just another high school drama... so if anyone is looking for an anime in this genre that has a different setting, I would probably recommend this to them right away. I think most will enjoy this just for how cute (I know I've said "cute" like 100 fecking times) it is and how well the characters' relationships develop. It doesn't lead you on for eleven episodes and shit on you in the last... it provides you with that cute AF romance you so desire to see in anime, no matter how damn unrealistic it might be. So if you like cute shit, character development that pleases God (because of its wholesomeness), and a heart-warming story... then Taishou Otome Otogibanashi may be a watch for you!

What a spineless fecking attempt by studio OLM to make an anime for one of the most beloved waifus in all of manga. How dare they make this knowing that hardcore simps will rack in watch time for this show. They knew that pathetic Komi addicts would give them a good rating regardless of how good the anime actually ends up, because, Jesus Harold Christ... I'm one of those addicts.

I fecking love Komi Can't Communicate. It was my first manga, first waifu, and first series I have stayed up to date with as volumes released in English. You can imagine then that this is something near and dear to me, therefore, you can look at my review one of two ways. One: I'm a degenerate, Komi-simper that only loves this anime because of the beauty that is Komi and my sentimental attachment to the series. Or two: I'm a degenerate, Komi-simper that because of my dedication to the series is giving a genuine, believable review so others can appreciate the magic of the series. Either way, this is somewhat biased because of my love for Tomohito Oda's godly creation that is Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.
Let's get into the story. Komi, a glorious goddess with beauty so omnipotent, it makes Aphrodite look like a fecking hag (remember that comment about being biased?), has issues trying to communicate due to how shy she is. Of course, no one suspects that fact when this godsent angel walks amongst them in the halls, so they all assume she is just a madonna who is too mighty for words and socialization with scum like they are. That's where my boi, my lad, my giga-chad Tadano comes in... this MF can read people's emotions like a book. Therefore, he soon finds out that Komi's seemingly menacing (but gorgeous) presence, is only a misunderstanding caused by her severe timidness. I really don't want to spoil much else because there is an extremely cute scene that will explain it all, but what you do need to know is that Komi really wants to make friends (100, in fact) and the story follows her efforts to gain friends, conquer her fears, grow a cute AF crush, all while having some blissful and hilarious slice of life occurrences along the way.
I'll be honest. There is no deeper story or drama to this. After reading 200+ chapters of the manga, I can guarantee that no deeper story will really emerge either, but that isn't the point really. It's just a cute, simple story that you kick back and enjoy without thinking. I call it the Yuru Camp of the romance/SOL genre and me plus many others fecking love it. It's just fun characters doing everyday stuff but somehow it just makes you feel happy and satisfied no matter how basic the progression really is. I'd say this anime does extremely well adapting the manga. Back in the dark ages (that's when there was no hope for a Komi anime), I believed a Komi anime would not adapt well because half of the story feels like filler to anyone who has watched a lot of anime before. After the anime was announced (and I had a heart attack from that news), I fully expected the producers/studio to cut A LOT out from the story, but God bless their souls... they kept almost everything. Naturally, some small details were changed, little details not in the source were added, some chapters were out of place, but that really only affects Komi-simps like me. I'm just telling you this so that if you have not read the manga (why the f^ck haven't you), don't worry about missing anything because, for the most part, it is all there in the anime. It's just so enjoyable to watch, especially for anyone who loves the manga. I mean, who doesn't love seeing their favorite waifu (I really mean goddess) and favorite series get animated? But I do believe, any first-timer can also enjoy just how damn enjoyable it is to watch this (if you like this genre that is). The one thing that irritated me and many others about the story was the text on-screen... you see... in the manga, there is a lot of text that will explain how characters feel or it'll just explain some of the nuances in a scene. Netflix did a shit job at translating all that. It hardly translated any of it. Not all of that text is important or NEED TO KNOW information, but it does add a lot to the experience, and viewers who haven't read the manga are missing that. So I highly suggest you watch a TOTALLY NOT ILLEGAL fan-sub of the show since they do a better job at adding that text in (or just learn Japanese, IDFK). Other than that, I do want to say, I was so happy to see they kept those little text bubbles in the anime because that just really made it feel like they kept the artist's original vision. I think the animators did a spectacular job at blending them into the scenes, but anyway, let's move along.
The characters... they are the heart and soul of this series. I feel like Tomohito (the god who delivered us the manga) made the characters before he even had a story because they are just so lovable, funny, and memorable. Each character's name reflects the personality they have, for example, Tadano Hitohito is a Japanese wordplay that basically means "average guy". Clearly, that is all lost in translation but it's those little things that make them much more entertaining. The interactions between all of the characters are the greatest. I'm either laughing my ass off or captivated by the cuteness of the scene. I feel there is never a dull moment in any episode as there is plenty of comedy in the traditional high school awkwardness and the savagery of some characters. Plus, let's face it, Komi is so damn adorable... yeah her personality is unrealistic and it would probably be cringe in the real world, but I don't give a damn what anyone says (it's anime for f^ck's sake, it isn't supposed to be real), she is mute, it is f^ckin' cute, and her reactions are some of the best things I've seen in anime.
Again, like the story, there is nothing incredibly deep or emotional to the characters. You aren't gonna experience a heartfelt drama here and none of the characters have huge development (other than Komi getting slightly less timid as the story progresses), but you will experience new characters showing up often and having a little development in the sense of getting closer to Komi. I find it amazing how little true character development there is in the story, but yet it is still great. I'm a person who heavily judges anime/manga based on how well the characters develop too, but somehow I just ended up loving this story anyway. That is not to say that there aren't any big developments because there will be some that are yet to come (in the already announced second season LET'S F^CKING GOOOO) and when they happen I think they will satisfy all.
The art/animation. The pure ecstasy of seeing Komi and the other characters I adore (but mostly Komi) in full color was great, but then also animated... fffffffffffff^ck....... I will not be able to recover for a while. It's beautiful. Simply said, it is guhdem bootefull. The intention of the art in the manga was to have gorgeous, Sistine Chapel quality drawings of some scenes and a page turn later, be simplistic and humorous. So I'm telling you the scenes meant to be beautiful, were fecking impeccable... and the scenes meant to be simple... were hilariously so. If you are still confused, you will understand when you watch, but just know, the drastic changes in art is the whole point of the humor and even reflect Komi's personality. She will look like a Rembrandt portrait for a frame or two, then suddenly her face is 90% covered by her wide-eyed expression. It's hilarious to watch and that's the whole reason she is designed that way. Watching this was a pure joy since my heart was happy, my eyes were happy, even my ears were happy because that soundtrack just fit so damn perfectly with the mood. I play that shit when I read the manga now because it just radiates the vibe that the situations give.
So would I recommend this? Hell. Yes. However, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't already like slice of life anime. If you absolutely need deep plots and action or whatever else, then you might honestly fall asleep to this, but I wouldn't know for sure since I don't know many people who didn't love this series after I recommended it to them. But like with any show, if you are unsure about the genre, just watch the first episode, and if you like what you saw, then continue! If you don't like it, don't continue! I think that is pretty much a given at this point and I shouldn't have to tell anyone that. Otherwise, if you love simple stories, cute and funny characters (Komi is the only cute one, I'll fight anyone who disagrees), and gorgeous animation... then Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. is CERTAINLY a watch for you!
p.s. as of writing this review it is Komi’s Birthday… yes Christmas Day is her birthday. So, merry happy birthday to her!!! I’m gonna go to my dedicated Komi shrine now…

The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Incestual Lov-*cough* I mean-Aristocrat.... is yet another isekai but this time it's about an assassin. Also, fun fact (if this is what you call fun fact), it's made by our boi Rui Tsukiyo. That's right... the MF who made Redo of Healer... wonderful.
Joking aside, this is no Redo of Healer, you will not be scarred by watching this, I promise. You just may end up being a little bit uncomfortable with the slight sweet home Alabama mixed into the protagonist's romance (unless that's your thing).
Anyway, let's start with the story...
You've got this grizzled
...
veteran of an assassin... real badass this guy... but he gets isekai'd hardcore. It gets all Konosuba-like after his death when he is face to face with this hot goddess (only she isn't useless this time.... I think) and she basically shits on this man because how could the greatest assassin allow himself to get murked as he did? So after her absolute savagery, she explains that he gonna get reincarnated into a world of magic and swords (you know the drill) only if he accepts the task of killing the world's hero within a certain amount of time. Really, this is not a bad plot for the dead horse that is isekai and I was really happy with it. It was exciting and had great world-building aspects... up to a certain point. The first episode is really deceiving since it shows you a snippet of what you assume you will see later in the season, but nah... I don't think that scene had anything to do with this season. It was such a badass scene too, so you expect each episode to build up to that, but it kind of fell short. Without spoiling too much, the protagonist has got quite a while before he can even think about killing the hero, so understandably, most of this story is just him preparing or going on side-quests basically. After a while, I feel the story loses focus on what the main goal is though, and honestly, I kinda forgot about it all myself until they suddenly bring it all back in the last couple of episodes. The other issue I had was, for an anime that is supposed to be about an assassin, I felt like I was watching a rom-com after the first few episodes. Now, I love my rom-coms, but I came here for cloak and dagger, espionage, assassin shit. The episodes that focused on our protagonist working on his skills or a mission were great but it just felt minimal compared to how much was focused on his relationships or... *MINOR SPOILER* building a fecking cosmetics business??? Yeah, it was for his "connections" and "influence" to use for his future missions, but they dedicated like 2-3 episodes (if I remember correctly) to that bullshit and it was kind of boring my lads. After finishing this and looking back though, I realized that this season is most likely just to set the stage for some serious shit to happen in the next season (I can only assume there will be another since the ending was a small cliffhanger) in which case, fine, we had a boring first season, but if the next is gonna be all about assassination missions because we got the boring shit outta the way, then cool, I'll live with that. The only thing that really took the life out of the story (for me at least) was the romance issue as I said earlier. It didn't feel necessary and it made things uncomfortable near the end when the... reveal (you'll understand that later)... is made. Other than that, it was a solid "okay", story... I just wish it had more fighting like that last episode.
The characters, boi oh boi the characters. We got giga-chad assassin, his MILF of a mom, his John Wick father, his servant/underlings/helpers (I don't know what to call em bruh) with unnaturally large plots [as anime always does( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)] for their age... there are just some really cool characters in this story, and that's where I start to dislike the story because it doesn't show all the badassery that some of them SHOULD be doing. Therefore, these interesting characters you would want to see more of, just get pushed in the background, don't resurface for a long time, then they come back for a small scene or a tiny bit of dialogue... like Jesus Harold Christ, just fecking kill someone please and satisfy this violence boner I have (I'm sorry, I just expected more action from this than there actually was). Otherwise, they all had... good development? IDK, it was kind of weird how stuff unfolded. Naturally, the protagonist is the one you see grow the most (obviously), but other than like... one other character... no one else really makes a huge development or has some kind of impact that leaves you going, "Wow, that was awesome to see how they grew". Because we follow the protagonist so much, I just want to say... what a massive asshole. He very blatantly monologues how he essentially brainwashes these girls (the underling/servants with huge plots...) into dedicating their lives to him so he can use them for his gain. Look, in any other situation, this is f^cked... but it's kind of a cool trait they gave this guy. Think about it... a dedicated assassin trained as a killing machine and to have no emotion is not gonna care about making a genuine connection with someone and THEN politely ask them for help or something... nah, he totally would use a (pretty slimy) method like that to guarantee he will get what he wants in as few steps as possible. Of course, he somewhat loses this emotionless side to him as the story progresses, but still, it was an interesting detail. I hope a second season will give the protagonist and the other badasses some more badassery to do so it could finally be a badass anime like I feel it could be. That would be badass...
Do you know what else is badass? The art/animation in this show. It isn't like Violet Evergarden level, but it was still very good, smooth, and the action scenes were not clunky. The characters looked real clean, sharp, and full of color for sure. 'Twas easy on the eyes to say the least, but nothing that will blow you away.
Now, would I recommend this? I don't know... but... I lean towards a yes. Only because, as I said, I think a second season is what's gonna feed us the meat and potatoes of the story. This season was just a building block, a slow one in my opinion, but sometimes that is necessary. I just hope it will follow up with a banger and for f^ck's sake please assassinate more people in the next one, I mean, you have ASSASSIN in the title... please use it dammit. So yeah, if you like inces- I mean... intense (but not really) isekais, assassins, and an anime with (I genuinely believe this) good potential... then Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru may be a watch for you!

Cool, this is cool. Music in the form of badass girls that shoot laser guns and swing swords like, damn. What a cool concept but DAMN... what a poor execution.
So you got this world where music can no longer be played. Why, you ask? Weird fecking crystal monsters birthed from a space rock don't like music and they kill all in sight. So what do the people do? Make fecking music girls who will kick the shit out of the monsters of course! It isn't the worst plot point for a fictional universe, and you can roll with it until it just starts barrelling out
...
of control all of a sudden.
The story follows Takt, our little piano boi with an icicle so far up his ass he makes Jack Frost look like a fecking joke (now, admittedly his personality gets somewhat better, but sweet balls I just want to tea-bag his corpse). Takt is a "conductor" as we learn and he has this... thing...? Person...? IDFK what you should call it other than it's a "musicart" called Destiny, which is like an embodiment of a classical song complete with its unique weapon (which I don't remember if that ever gets explained).
Honestly, now that I think about it, I can't remember if there was an explanation for half of the shit in this anime. As a matter of fact, WTF was Takt's goal to begin with? The story goes from him trying to save a character who I GUESS was important to him (this motherfu^ker is so cold and emotionless sometimes you can't tell who or what is important to him other than he has a hard-on for pianos) and then seemingly switches to some kind of whacky "Save The World!" plot. Not to mention how fecking rushed this all felt. You'll get to the last two/three episodes and be like, "How can you possibly be ending it already?" It's fecking weird man... it's like I only watched half of this anime. There are so many things in this story that don't get explained, and at this point, I don't even care since this probably won't have another season (this is apparently being turned into a mobile game so I'm gonna agree with the masses on this one, that this anime is just a shitty trailer for the game).
Characters. F^ck don't get me started. You already know I think the protagonist, Takt, is such shit. The kind of shit a cat would forget to cover up because it's too busy throwing up its motherf^cking guts. Yeah... maybe that's being really harsh since in reality, he is not the worst character in the wide world of anime (FFFFFF^CK you Kirito), but I think I hated him so much because I wanted to like this series so much. I think it could've been so much better if the protagonist was different and had a more interesting, clear achievement they were after. Other than him, the other characters were fairly average but some of them just did weird shit that made no sense. I say this because the character development seemed to be happening in the background. Like in the week that I waited for the next episode, two characters were suddenly closer than the previous episode as if they hung out the entire time off-screen... like WTF. Or two characters that share absolutely NO development between each other, and they suddenly have a fecking kiss scene??? Were the creators just trying to appease hopeless romantics, like, WTF was the purpose of this? It really was just so sad how the characters (who had the ability to be interesting) were uninteresting despite how cool some of them were. That sounds weird but that's how it feels to me right now after finishing that God-awful ending like 20 minutes ago as of writing this.
The animation and sound were the only things I enjoyed most about this. The animation fights were cool, but it didn't blow me away. The anime would've been better off with more of them in my opinion. Regardless, the animation throughout was smooth, clean and the fights didn't look like a slideshow.
Naturally, the music was great since that is technically what this is supposed to be about. Other than that, nothing special.
Would I recommend this? No. It's not that it was horrible (like the protagonist was), it just wasn't all that enjoyable. I was left with confusion, disappointment, and ruined hopes for what seemed like a great idea. Plus whiplash from how fast they pulled that ending like holy f^ck knuckles I would've been happier with dragging it out to another season so I could at least process the bullshit you fed me MAPPA/Madhouse... So if you like the pain of not understanding what the f^ck is going on, characters that change overnight, and a shitty protagonist similar to Kirito (I'm sorry SAO fans)... then Takt OP. Destiny is a watch for you.
p.s. don't waste your time. watching your dog take a shit in the yard is more entertaining than this show.

Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! is an anime about a loli that... no... I guess she technically isn't a loli. Okay... Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! is an anime about a weird demon-girl-thing that is trying to gather shards... no they don't really focus on that after like five episodes. Um okay... Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! follows a demon that loses her dark-realm home and ends up in our world with no other option than to get a job... wait isn't this the plot for a different anime?
Okay, so I'm not entirely sure what to tell you since the story isn't much and loses focus. Basically, you've got this dark-skinned
...
demon who is apparently the demon lord's second in command. The crystal of dark power (or whatever it's called) that basically renders their entire world into existence is destroyed and our scantily-clad, smug AF, demon girl winds up in the human world... as a (legal?) loli. You'll follow her many... many... MANY misadventures as she tries to find shards of the dark crystal to regain her home, her dark lord, and her clout. Things begin to change though, (as the creators decided they need to prolong this story somehow) as our little protagonist learns that it isn't so bad being in the human realm and making friendships and eating food and doing fun things and *insert cute thing here*...!
So the story is nothing to behold in my opinion. It feels like a bunch of filler episodes trying to make up a bigger story but that is probably the point of the show. It was pretty funny and that's about all that made up for it. I could simply describe the plot as a "Life Sucks Simulator" but that's what made it funny to me. The over-the-top comedy was nothing new, but I still found myself laughing (maybe because a college student can relate to not eating lol... please help me....). I think this is just one of those shows you gotta go into with no high expectations, no brain cells, and just don't analyze anything. Enjoy it for what it is and move along with your day lol.
The characters, of course, have their quirks and unique or funny personalities. You will probably notice the same personalities in these characters as some other comedy characters you've watched before (basically there is nothing to behold about the characters either). Again, they are all funny and it makes up for it being cliché, but something you can appreciate is that it was done well. There was no character that I loathed because they were all pretty enjoyable. Nothing ruins a comedy like an annoying protagonist, antagonist, or recurring supporting characters in my opinion, and I didn't see that in this one. Each individual's interactions with our little demon were pretty funny, and the most entertaining ones were her fights with her landlord.
Overall, would I recommend this to my friends or any other otaku for that matter? Probably not. There are so many other animes out there that are even more enjoyable or even more entertaining, that I would only recommend watching this if you have literally nothing better to watch. That, or if you just want a chill, zero-mental-effort show to watch, go ahead.
So, if you are bored and like simple, funny characters, plus there is no better anime to watch... Then Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! may be one for you!
Sorry for this mediocre review but it felt like a mediocre show to me lol...

After being dedicated to this story for so long, I was ecstatic to finally pick up the last few copies and finally get to see who is the lucky bride. Every turn of a page got me more excited as I tried to guess out who it might be. I finally reach the end-all moment… the next page will reveal it all… wait… stop. No… no feckin way. You’re feckin kidding me right mate?

Alright, so, I can’t rate this entirely on its ending, no matter how disappointing to me it was (more on that later). To start, please believe me when I see this is a damn good story. I’m not much for harem manga/anime so I was not expecting to be so engrossed in this as much as I was but, damn. If a single volume of a story leaves an impact and multiple thoughts in my head after finishing it, I know it’s good (to me at least), and this one did not disappoint. Every volume would put a smile on my face and excited for more. Holy shet did the surprises actually surprise me too. Whenever some revelation came to, I would actually throw down the book and pace around whispering, “Holy shet, wow… oh my-,“ you get the point. The only reason I did not enjoy it more was because of its ending. Everything was going great, the story was coming to a close and I was touched by all the conclusions written for each sister, but to then have the MC choose the sister that probably had the LEAST development out of all of them… that really killed the mood for me. It’s not because my favorite girl didn’t win or anything, it’s simply for that fact I just stated– that the chosen sister has the least amount of development and special “moments” with the MC. When I first saw the page that revealed it, I could not believe it. I surely thought that it was a joke and that the real chosen sister got messed up some how. Unfortunately, that’s not what happens. It was almost sad afterwards too, because the creator, Negi Haruba, even goes as far to write an entire volume worth of chapters to show us the after effects of the MC’s choice. Seeing the other sisters who were so dedicated to the MC (and should’ve had a much better feckin chance) get crushed by this defeat is absolutely heart wrenching. I think it would’ve been fine if it were a different sister, but because it was the lesser one that was chosen, it just made it seem really sad and upsetting to see the other sisters’ internal conflict with the MC’s choice. Of course, they all “accept it” in some way later because you have to have a happy ending or some bullshite, but dammit Negi Haruba… why the hell did you end it like this?
Moving on, never have I seen so much development in a harem before. You have a cast of characters that are all lovable and have real plot (not that other kind of plot, if you catch my drift, but don’t worry there is still plenty of that) and growth to each of them. The MC was not entirely dense as is common with these. He has his… ahem… special… moments, we’ll call ‘em, but it is clearly revealed that he does have a sense for what is going on around him in the romantic area. This is shown during moments of confession by certain sisters when he doesn’t seem entirely oblivious to their feelings and WOW… he has feelings too? By far the most entertaining characters I’ve seen in awhile and their stories just really sucked me in.
The only reason I did not rate lower or come to despise this manga, is because of the journey I had while reading it. Truly, it was not about the destination in this story (because that shet was disappointing af) but the hype and development leading up to it, even if it turned out to be for nothing, is what made this manga so damn good. Don’t let the stuff about the ending stray you from reading and/or watching this series though. It was so much fun to read and watch and I don’t regret doing so, but before you get real engrossed in this, just remember to not expect an ending that will blow you away or deliver half as well as the rest of the story did. That might save you some of the disappointment.
I still really had fun reading this manga and will stand by my high rating, because I won’t let 10 bad chapters out of 100-something change the fact that I really enjoyed the hell out of this series. So if you want a harem with a twist, cute girls with big bonkhonagahoogs, and a captivating story unique to its field… then The Quintessential Quintuplets may be a read for you.

On July 7th, 2021, KeelaKween23 said shortly after finishing the last episode of Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy: "The f^ck did I just watch?"
No exaggeration, I have literally no clue what I watched. This anime looked promising and different when I first read about it about three months ago (upon writing this review), but it ended up being two steps away from a disappointment, for me at least. I don't want to sh!t on this anime just because I didn't like it. Others do seem to enjoy it, but just note that I'm being generous in my rating/review.

confusing to me that each episode made me feel like I missed something important. The first three or four episodes I was actually fine with and had me thinking that was how the anime would be all the way through, but spoiler alert... it's not, so don't get your hopes up. After those first four, so many things just get thrown at your face at a breakneck pace and nearly left me with whiplash since I couldn't digest what the hell was happening in this story. Maybe I'm slow or something, but damn I was so confused about what was happening... still am... probably three years later too. The sad thing is was that I wanted to like it, I really did. I feel as though the creators had a real good idea but got too excited and messed it all up.
The characters were interesting and funny at first until the harem went from 0 to 100... and believe me, it does that really fast after the first few episodes... once that happened, all hell broke loose, and every character was suddenly more shallow than a kiddie pool because it was all about, "winning my love's affection," and BIG surprise my friend, the main guy is denser than a mother feckin pound cake made of element osmium (literally isn't possible but he manages to do it). There's almost nothing noteworthy about any of the MC's honestly. Same as the story, I wanted to like the characters, but it only hurt to try.
I don't complain much about art, but this anime seemed to mess that up too. It wasn't horrible, just inconsistent. There are moments where the designs looked gorgeous and others that looked amateurish. There were scenes in some episodes that made me feel like my vision was blurred too. I had to violently rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't having issues, just for the next scene to be perfectly fine... like... how the f^ck do they mess up a scene that bad and not notice it?
So if you like a really bad harem, some characters that will make you frustrated, and a story that confuses the hell out of you... then this one is a watch for you. (Seriously I wouldn't recommend it, not worth the time)

Whew... what an entertaining show. If you left the first season feeling kind of like, "Oh, it was alright," then prepare to be satisfied in this season.
I don't watch many idol anime, if at all... I'm not even sure if you call this series an idol anime, but basically, it's one of those shows starring cute girls (or zombie-girls) doing cute girl (zombie-girl) things. It was entertaining and funny to watch. The plot would go up and down and sideways and I just had no clue where the story was going at some points, but I still enjoyed the story that was packed into each

episode regardless of how irrelevant or 'filler-esque' it might have been. Don't even get me started on the Yugiri backstory episodes... it had almost nothing to do with the overall story of this season, but damn, I loved watching those episodes.
If you did watch the first season, you already know this doesn't have your typical character development. The character personalities do develop still, it's just somewhat forgettable and only important for like, maybe an episode, but then the story quickly moves along. It's not my favorite and the only saving grace is just the fact that the show is still somehow funny and enjoyable.
The music is pretty good too, especially the opening... what a bop... I will never get used to the characters suddenly going to CG whenever they sing on stage though. Yes... that still happens in this season... just focus on the song and you can look past the uncanniness of their bodies. Unless you watched RWBY so therefore it doesn't bother you...
So if you like idols, (cute) zombies, some good music, and an entertaining story (or if you finished season one and are continuing along)... then this anime is a watch for you.

The Saint’s Magical Power is Lov-I mean-Omnipotent, is yet another isekai in the world of anime. It wouldn’t be a regular broadcasting year without em, and I don’t watch many of them since they end up being the same thing (except shield hero, I don’t care what the critics say about it, but I’ll stop there). However, I found that I really enjoyed this one for some reason.

welcome at first. (I got real excited ‘cause I thought maybe this would be the female version of shield hero, but alas it is not like that) Not to worry though, she eventually gets pampered and even has the liberty of choosing what she wants to do with her new life. So, through the rest of the story you watch as the protagonist tries to lead a normal-ish life with as little attention drawn to herself as possible. Overtime though, the plot will thicken and (somewhat expected) big revelations will occur.
I kind of liked that the story went down that route. I like that the MC didn’t desire the limelight; because of that, you get to see an interesting method of character development. The only thing I will never like about isekai, including this one, is how the protagonist(s) are rarely ever sad about being basically kidnapped from their life and home. The creators use excuses like, “Their life sucked anyway!” but you’re telling me that the protagonist here didn’t at least feel one bit of sorrow? What about her family and/or friends (this anime paints her as an introvert but there’s gotta be someone out there worried about her) that are panicking about her disappearance? But I mean, I get it… it’s anime… it’s far from the real world, so I’ll try not to let it taint anything.
Other than the MC, the other characters are pretty entertaining in their interactions and I would genuinely smile when something funny or cute happened. The way the MC is able to cast her god-like magic is kind of… what do I say… cliché?… stupid?… *searches google* VAPID?… but it was still cute to watch her process of casting despite it being redundant.
The other thing that made it enjoyable for me was just how easy it was to watch. I could relax and get an entertaining story without thinking too hard or wondering what’s gonna happen. Don’t get me wrong, that excitement is why I like some animes more than others, but a chill anime like this one is nice too (will never be as chill as Yuru Camp tho). Sure, there is some fighting in it, but it’s not a spectacle, and surprise! It’s not a shōnen… in case you were wondering…
So, if you want a chill, easy-to-watch isekai, with a pretty cute protagonist who may or may not have magic of a god… then Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu, is a watch for you.

Starting the anime, I had no idea what to expect… finishing the anime, I’m desiring more.
The first episodes of 86, or Racism: the anime, felt like I was watching the first season of Attack on Titan minus large naked things and dudes flying around with extra large razor blades. What it added was a mysterious, large-scale somewhat futuristic war (which I’m still semi-confused about), and of course… more racism (you’ll understand what I mean when you watch it).
I was also left in some confusion during those first episodes but I think that was the intent of the storytelling (again, you’ll understand when you watch).

It does a great job of making a mystery out of what’s really going on in this war. I really enjoyed watching everything unfold like it did and I don’t think I’ve seen anything else similar before.
The characters seemed really cool and I liked the progression and relationships you see develop between them. It feels great to watch an anime that gives you the satisfaction of seeing interesting characters grow and become better people… or for that one couple you ship to actually become a thing, but that’s beside the point. The male protagonist had a real deep and mysterious story which I really liked. It became a driving part of the story later on and seeing his character develop the way it did was awesome. The female protagonist and her side of the story is the one you “mostly” see, but her personality was what I liked about her the most (also that she’s fighting racism). She would go from this cool-headed major, who could probably command respect in the real world, to this awkward/crybaby/childish teenager. It was like seeing my professor in school and then seeing him at the bar later… seeing someone who you think would never do something opposite of their professional character is what I mean by that. I think this trait gives her more personality and a “human” side to her character.
Near the end, the gears really shift on the story. The ending was somewhat vague and I was left wondering why, but I suppose this will be answered in the already announced second season. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching this and can’t wait for more. So if you like war, mechs, and fighting against racism… 86 may be a watch for you.
