A very good romance manga. It is very long, but does not feel drawn out while reading because the plot spans over several years. It's basically the Shoujo equivalent to the good One Piece arcs.
Due to the length, the characters grow on the reader after a while and it's very enjoyable to see the relationship proceed. Naruse's shenanigans are funny most of the time, the side characters have a good balance between serious and funny (Abe and Amamiya best Comedic Relief). The side ships were also fine. This manga is a classical case of 'slow in the beginning but becomes genius later' (to the chagrin of the of the anime viewers).
As already said, the story starts slow, introducing the characters and the world, but becomes better with each arc, especially at chapter 60+. I don't care much about the art, but it seems to be great (yet Dazai's hair is a huge black spot and i do not know why they kept this). The characters are mostly divided in simple / straightforward persons and absolute masterminds. Most of them get development throughout the show, but some don't. Now the main reason i enjoy this manga ...

The short version: Although this manga may not be the thing for everyone, i love it to the core.
What makes this manga so good is the strong connection between the story, the world and the exceptionally well-written complex characters. The people aren't just black and white, but have many sides to them. A lot of them also have their own unique role in the story. That goes for the protagonists as well as the antagonists.
