"Can I... have my clothes?"
"No, this has been kept as an evidence."
"Uh, but..."
"You are not wearing any panties? Then I let you borrow mine."
And so, she got started taking her panties off.
(from the episode 7 of Strike Witches)
Strike Witches, is a light-hearted military based anime with some magical abilities such as healing wounds just by concentration itself; seeing distant things clearly and even its hidden inner parts with a magical eye. And, I think this is one of most ecchi fanservice-orientated anime in the Japan animation history.
For some mysterious reason, in the world of Strike Witches all young girls seem like they don't
...
put any skirts or pants on their bottom. Therefore, their underwears of their bottom parts, or at least their barely-covered crotches can always be seen by everyone around them so easily. This hilarious- I mean terrible habit of the world made me in a panic before I realized that they probably *have to* be without skirts or pants at all times in order to immediately mount the Striker Units on their legs whenever the alien invasion warning issued. My goodness. That perfectly makes sense because the aliens would appear possiblly in every minutes and wearing a skirt for the witches might be a problem when mounting the Striker Units. I was pretty impressed by those young fighters. Although the witch girls look young and cute, they are professional army officers after all. Showing people their underwears or barely-covered crotches doesn't make them feel embarrassment because of their high-spirited sense of mission. With this rational conclusion, I finally managed to settle myself on watching their brilliant actions in peace... until I had happend to see a nurse with no skirt! She was not a member of the witches for sure. What the heck were she doing in a hospital? What is wrong with this Strike Witches world? So, I eventually learnt that no skirts for girls is like a principle nature of this anime. Furthermore, interestingly enough, the girls seem like they have no question nor a complaint about it.
Now, please let me review the other aspects of this anime other than just about panties. To be my good surprise, the other aspects like the battle with the enemies, and the plots of each episode were also very nice, unlike the saying of some other reviews. The battle scenes with the aliens is very loud and exciting, thrilling that is worth watching. The plots may seem typical to anime buffs but it suits the whole relaxed mood of this show. The opening/ending themes are maybe not super great but still they are pretty fine and I like its innocent, optimistic lyrics, which I listened to it almost every time I watched the show.
I have given it a 'great' score because the show is totally very well balanced as a fanservice-orientated entertainment piece of work mainly for anime freak gentlemen. So, make sure if you are an airhead 'freak' before trying it. :)

"Mwahahaha! Winds, blow harder and harder! Now, gale, I command--"
"Morning, Nishikata."
"uAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!1"
Skilled Teaser Takagi-san, is a slice of school life type of comedy anime in recent years. There is no particular storyline expect for the little romantic development of the two main characters Nishikata, an average middle-schoolar shy boy, and Takagi-san, an unbeatable teaser girl who loves making fun of Nishikata more than anything. This is an anime where you will enjoy a small, little by little progress of their relationship changing from friends to somewhere above that.
I thought at first that a full-time, I mean an anime that takes 30-minutes of the TV programs,
...
is too much for this anime, because the major part of it is only the conversation between the two, or Nishikata's (inner) talking to himself. The starting few episodes made me unsure if the anime was worth watching to the end. But I learnt soon the situations varied effectively from inside school to shoping malls and then I was gradually getting interested in how the relationship of the two will progress. Of course I should not tell much about it, but now I am sure this anime is worth to watch for all sorts of people.
Also, I am kind of astonished how greatly the English dubbing work on this anime has been done. I found the Nishikata's English voice actor was awesome. Maybe it's the first time I liked a guy's voice in anime this much. He sounded always energetic/emotional that every time he spoke, or rather cried, I could'nt help smiling and laughing a lot. And Takagi-san's English voice is way better than Japanese, in my opinion. Totally she best acted throughout the show. When she pets a cat in episode 11, her tone of voice slowly changes into really funny, while Japanese tone doesn't much change. Beside of the two, the voices of the all side characters are very well done too. Voice acting is really something to bring anime characters to the lives. So, I think the dubbed version of it is better than the original.
I won't be so interested in anime with no story, recently. But for some reason I enjoyed this anime very much. If you ask me what is the point watching a slice of life anime that has no storyline, I will answer that a good slice of life anime certainly has 'some' story you can discover even though it looks not has at first. Takagi-san is an anime something like that.

"Loneliness-- He uses loneliness as his mean to fight with us."
Alien 9, is a very unusual slice of life type of a modern horror anime, where only four episodes in it. It may look cute to you at first, but it actually is (I think, at least) for mentally matured people, not for juvenile. You may regret watching it if you cannot stand the psychological horror stuff. This is a strange anime for tasting our creepy dark side of feelings towards children.
I was interested in this anime because I found it on the recommendations page of my favorite anime, Ground Defense Force Mao-chan. (also
...
because it had a dubbed version too) Sure, the basic settings are similar. Both of them feature a group of three grade-schooler girls who are facing, capturing aliens to protect the peace. However, the tastes of the two are completely different. While Mao-chan is overall light-hearted comedy, Alien 9 is full of disturbing moments!
Honestly, I was hardly able to enjoy this anime. So... why I have scored it quite fairly despite the fact that I felt so bad I almost threw up while watching the poor girl being pushed into her unwilling duty of dealing with violence, grotesque aliens? It's simple, I don't want to judge things unreasonablly just by my own preference. Besides, people can, and should decide which anime they try next without considering its score too much.
Actually, the anime is created very fine, even though it's quite short. The premise that regards the alien's invasion and the counter-measures against them as the daily usual chokes is quite interesting. The fighting style using Bougu (in Japanese it means 'a protector' like a helmet, simply) is something cool I have never seen. And aliens, yeah, they are aliens, not (like Mao-chan does) cute aliens.
Again, this is an unusual slice of school horror life anime that features a poor girl who always gets soaked by the aliens' green blood. Have you been intrigued? Okay, fine... I'm going to watch Mao-chan.

"I- I don't think you could ever hate the person who gave you your name" - Akari
This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, is one of the fine works of Gainax that is well known as the creator of Evangelion.
You can easily see there are a lot of similarities between the two of them. In this anime, however, there less shocking scenes and more lovely girls to be seen so I can say it's generally pleasant to watch for fun.
As I said above, I noticed there are quite a few similarities between the two, like the stunning actions/movements, cute and bossy ladies, and the simple
...
yet dramatic scenarios. But, rather than that, this anime spends the large parts of it on comedy, romance, and boobs, I- I mean its fan-service scenes. Actually, you are allowed to see the nudes of all the female characters of this anime. I think that's wonderful. I- I mean the challenging spirits of the creators.
I scored it not so high because of its unfortunate roughness, and the lack of originarity of the characters' personalities(they seem to be from the other works with a little bit arrange...), but if you like a romance which decides the fate of the world and beautiful boobs I mean this beautiful world, maybe you should watch this anime!

Rikujou Bouei-tai Mao-chan(Ground Defense Force Mao-chan in English) is a bit old anime back to in 2002, that is basically intended for kids. If you make a story of a war between military forces and aliens from another planets into an easy-going comedy at the maximum level, that will be Mao-chan.
The Story?
Japan has been invaded by cute aliens whose aims is still shrouded in mystery. It is immediately needed to stop their invading because they sometimes hurt people, though they look harmless. But their cute appearances which is rather like stuffed animals has made the situations difficult to deal with. If the government
...
would use the regular power of the military forces to defeat them down, people would be deeply sorry for the aliens and surely get angry over the government's actions. Therefore, the united defence force consisted of the three 8 years old cute girls is set up to protect the peace of Japan from the cute aliens. - Quite reasonable, I guess.
Only for Kids?
I said it's 'basically' for kids, because it sure is childish as you can see by the cover of this anime, but also adults those who don't want a show to be much serious will likely enjoy it too. The plot and characters of the anime is designed by Ken Akamatsu, a Japanese popular manga artist who has made alot of romantic-comedy including Love Hina. (Mao-chan is all comedic-comedy, though) So, Mao-chan may look childish at the first impression, but you will find it isn't that childish and it's actually fun than you have expected. The plot of each episode is quite unpredictable in a funny way, and the characters are really unique and charming.
Have Some Ecchi?
Although his works occasionally have ecchi fan-services, please don't expect this particular anime to have any sexual moments or much attractiveness of the characters more than just cuteness. It's mainly for kids after all. However, I have to say, the boss character of the villains...has got a really questionable form.
My Waifu?
What the-- Are you trying to ask me who is my best waifu in this anime? How...DARE YOU! They are only 8-year-old. Who in the world wants one of them to be their waifu? WTH are you?? Well, if you really want to know, Silvia-chan would be my waifu. She is cute of course, but quite a bit quirky too unlike the other two girls. Mao-chan behaves in a honest, heroic way, Misora-chan behaves in a polite, girlish way, and Silvia-chan though, she behaves in an eccentric way. For example, she often says a strange or a clever things for her age; she once tried to eat a cute alien; she can take out tangerines from everywhere. It's very clear that she is the one who has made the show more interesting and unpredictable.
If you are looking for short comedies with cute characters, and if you are interested in hearing English/Japanese, maybe Mao-chan is a good choice for you, even if you are a full-grown. Let's yuru-yuru defence together!

First of all, please make sure that this anime is NOT a hentai nor a story about one perverted boy who loves thrusting his arm into the skirt of a fairy girl.
I kind of ran across it by chance while I was trying to search for something hot that have Ecchi tag. (eh, not that I was in search for weird stuff, really) Anyway, in conclusion, I found out that I really loved this anime to my surprise.
Yes, it sure has some mild-nudity once a while, and a few sexualized scenes (in a funny way, of course) in some certain episodes. But that's
...
just a fan-service material, and that's moderate with a good sense. Instead, it focuses on how funnier your everyday life could be if your one of hands turn into a tiny pretty girl!
I, a person from Japan who have watched a handred anime for years and years, will say that this is definitely one of my most favorite anime I have ever seen.
The exact reason for why it has got to be my favorite can't be described due to the site rules, but I can only say that they made this anime with a true love for Midori and Seiji. Oh and its amazing, joyful opening theme touched my heart.
You maybe think this anime looks too childish to you and is not your type. (or, too hardcore to you? WTH are you, I said it's not a hentai!) Yap, you are right. Midori Days has come from a manga that's originally targetted mainly for very young boys after all. But hey, I think it's still worth watching because the each episode of it totally is very well organized for an anime aired 15 years ago, and the right-hand girl is incredibly, extremely, almost lethally adorable along with the stunning English voice acting for her.
Oh, to close, I'd like to mention about the supporting characters also made it to be an enjoyable masterpiece. I especially like Takako(a determined girl), Shuuichi(a doll geek), and Jigorou(a plump stray cat).
You won't regret it if you like comedy and pretty girls very much!
