Kemono Jihen fell victim to an absolutely stacked anime season. However, it still was able to find it's place as one of the shows I looked forward to watch and start off my week. It has an otherworldly vibe that makes me think a little bit of Noragami and Bungou Stray Dogs. There are interesting characters, interesting character development, and unique powers that keep you watching. On that topic, the OP is just so *chef kiss*. It's hard to really say much about this show without spoiling it. But if you have time, which let's be real you do if you're reading this, then check

To the people writing poor reviews on this show, you need to grow up and stop being so triggered at everything. This show has a lot of bad stuff: affairs, S. assault, a perverted MC, classism, and racism. This is not a happy-go-lucky isekai like many others, and you very well may not want to watch it if you are uncomfortable with those serious topics I listed above. But for the love of Pete, please have some critical thinking skills if you do try to watch this. There's a reason those bad scenes in SAO are the reason why it's such a poor and shameless

anime. Mushoku Tensei has these events written in to SHOW you that Rudeus is still NOT A GREAT PERSON and this world is RUTHLESS. He's a 30-something-year-old deadbeat in his previous life that didn't even go to his parents funeral. He gets another opportunity in a new world, carrying his immature and disgusting tendencies over. But this time he's making something of himself and slowly, very slowly, growing up. He's not an OP MC by any means, but he did have a head start when it came to learning about magic compared to others. He still tries to act like he would in his dating sims or RPGs where he oversteps his boundaries with women and girls. Also, he let someone die because he thought waiting till the last minute to save someone would be more beneficial to himself. Rudeus makes plenty of mistakes along the way, but he is actually confronting his issues unlike other clueless MCs. He didn't start morally good, he doesn't start OP, and he doesn't resemble a hero or main character. But we are taken on a unique journey where Rudeus grows and TRIES to be a good person. Along with amazing animation and world-building, this is a must-see.

Let's make this review quick and simple, just like Horimiya. It's another high school love story that is well-animated and has a fun collection of characters. The story-telling is fine and makes sense, but it just doesn't stand out. Maybe it's because I find Kaguya-sama and SNAFU as miles better than this anime, as there's so much more complexity to those two anime. Horimiya doesn't deserve to be called bad, but it has no right to stand next to the rom-coms I listed above. It's simply a good time that doesn't need more than 12 episodes to tell. This show will make you smile and
...
teach you some valuable viewpoints on love that are often misunderstood. But I'm not gonna sit here and say it will leave a lasting memory, because it will be forgotten once the next seasonals pop up.
Update 2022: I wanted to give this show another shot because I keep seeing it pop up on Youtube and Tik Tok. I feel like my rating of a low 7 is still a fair rating based on everything. The strength of different relationships on this show vary GREATLY and can really alter your enjoyment episode to episode based on who is in it. But I really wanted to emphasize and appreciate the maturity that this show has compared to other rom-coms. There's realistic brother-sister support complexes, the MCs being able to voice their issues without having them boil over, and accurately depicting jealousy. I very much enjoyed these character interactions even more than the first watch, but similar to Hyouka this anime isn't breaking the mold by any means. I can understand how people can find it boring and overrated, but I'm at a point as someone forever on a seasonal grind where I enjoy realism. Even though there's enjoyment to be had in fantasy and absurdity, this is definitely a breath of fresh air and something people should watch if you like rom-coms.

TPN had me worried on the very first episode, and progressively got worse as time got on. There was a snake trap that in the manga the kids fell in, but I guess to save time the writers just gave Ray the knowledge that you shouldn't step there. The reason for the kids knowing stuff outside the farm often remained poorly written, and I feel the mangaka played too big of a role in changing up the story. The manga already wasn't amazing after they escape the farm, but it at least makes SOME sense. TPN S2 tries to force feed us plot instead of

show us, destroys the complex characters that were set up in S1, and leaves a sour taste in our mouth by summing up the rest of the story in a powerpoint presentation to slash any hope of a S3. This was a dumpster fire that made no sense, and apparently nobody wants to take credit for this pile of trash. There's some trash that's just fun to watch. There's some trash that isn't fun to watch. This anime falls under the latter, and stings more than most with the expectations we all had.

Story: 6/10
This is honestly the only area where I felt Jujutsu Kaisen had serious room for improvement. The first arc captivated many of us, including myself. However, once we got to Junpei's arc the story got very choppy. It seemed very rushed, and I personally found him underdeveloped for me to really care about what happens. Following this, there was a tournament arc in order to introduce new characters. The backstories of each character is good, but when it came to the battles there was no weight to who won the battles. You don't have to win to get promoted at the end of
...
the day. But once we got back into the bread and butter, the big three squad, Jujutsu Kaisen was able to shine again. Each arc had good points, but it was not cohesive in the slightest.
Art: 10/10
It's pretty evident that the animation budget and animators were top tier throughout this entire series. While other series like Dororo (another MAPPA project) had a couple episodes with very cheap production, MAPPA did not take their foot off the gas. The last episode specifically left me with my jaw dropped. I hope we see the same incredible mix of CGI and hand-drawn animation in future installments.
Sound: 10/10
My motto on sound is that if you're paying a lot of attention to it, then the anime is probably lacking in some other department. The OPs and EDs are great, and I didn't feel anything was out of place when it came to music during the fights. So good stuff!
Characters: 10/10
This is where Jujutsu Kaisen shines. While Junpei was underdeveloped, the rest of the cast were all incredible. Having this standard team of three with two guys (or one guy and a panda) along with one girl allows the potential of a love triangle to be lazily written in. But it's thankfully not done here. Kugisaki still displays her femininity and strength while Itadori and Fushiguro make an insanely entertaining trio. Kugisaki is not Sakura, and she really challenges Itadori's viewpoints on this new world he just entered. I love how unique the characters look, their personalities, and the wonderful interactions between one another. Big props to the author.
Enjoyment: 8/10
Jujustsu Kaisen started strong and finished strong. I lost some interest in the middle, which is a problem in several 24-episode anime. But when it was strong, it captivated me. It was standing on the top of the anime hill and I was merely a witness.
Overall: 8/10
Jujutsu Kaisen is a great show, but far from a masterpiece. I look forward to the rest of the manga to get adapted. This won't be a decade-long type of anime like Naruto, but it has earned its place near the top to shine for a couple years.

I don't have much to say about this one. It's merely another take on the isekai genre. It does well enough to get you to stick with it for a couple episodes to force you to just finish it. But it's just not that enjoyable. What starts out as a unique concept, where slowly the squad is formed as we progress and not all isekai'd at once, falls flat after we get our fourth member. We just begin to do mundane quests, accept dying since they respawn after a short period of time, have so sexual tension that nobody cares about, and this shallow dilemma
...
about killing there. There's a funny re-roll of roles for each person after they level up, with our MC always getting random ones. But even that wears off after the first or second wheel spin. I simply turned my brain off to finish this one, so I recommend that you don't even bother to start this one.

Sometimes, a journey doesn't have to be linear for you to enjoy it. This is not a revolutionary concept, but I feel that many of us are conditioned to expect a "point A to point B" type of progression. But, as the title states, this anime is the portrayal of a journey. It's like when you play an rpg video game and you just go around the open world doing random side quests. In this case, each of these stops are interesting and leave us, and Elaina, with valuable lessons. The animation, characters, and world building is all well done and works for a single
...
season format. I feel this was the perfect length of show, and ended on a note where I am content. I wouldn't be opposed to a second season, but this is the type of anime where you don't necessarily need it to complete the story.
With all that being said, there are some destinations that do stand above others. I would've liked some more closure on the zombie plant story, but it also serves as a wake up call to us; Elaina is a protagonist but is not obligated to play the hero in every story. She's a witch at the end of the day enjoying her travels, and makes her own decisions. It's a nice touch while much of the magic stuff out there depends on the conquest of evil. This is just an enjoyable ride overall.

This is such a fun and rewarding anime to sit through and watch. So much so that I finished it in 2 days! The world of Tiger and Bunny brings an interesting spin to hero v villain, which is hero commercialization via Hero TV. Sponsor logos plastered all across the suit while a camera follows each hero through their conquest of evil in what is pretty much NYC. Reminds me of race car driving as well, where heroes compete throughout the 'season' to be the top-ranked hero. That's not the main reason why I really enjoyed T&B, but it's such a cool concept.
Although it
...
runs with the typical trope of partnering up a young rising star and old washed-up veteran, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is done well. Each hero gets to shine throughout the season, making me want to root for every single hero. It never really became a competition between heroes, which I liked a lot. Each one supported one another, either personally or professionally, to create this atmosphere that still focuses on capturing bad guys.
Speaking of bad guys, there are three main ones in this season that land on different ends on the quality spectrum. One I can't say because spoilers, but I saw it coming. Jake Martinez relates to Bunny's backstory, but let's just say to me he didn't live up to the killer I thought he would be. He just wanted to fight the heroes one-on-one and that's all that really happened. And lastly the best villain in Lunatic. The reason why he serves justice in the way he does is later explained and just makes sense. I honestly was rooting for him at some points towards the end of the season. A show is truly good when both the good and bad guys are enjoyable.
Overall, this show unfortunately came before My Hero Academia and won't get the recognition it deserves. In addition, it has a good bit of CG which may turn people away (although it was done very well). But it's a fun ride and one that has me wanting to watch the movies in the near future.

After a promising start with such incredible fight scenes and premise, Akudama Drive unfortunately falls short. Once our characters reach their destination, the whole story falls off. It starts to remind me of Akame Ga Kill where death drives the plot forward. I'm more or less frustrated with how a show I pegged as anime of the season in the beginning progressively got caught up in the tropes. The animation is constantly gorgeous and gives me Persona vibes. The characters were all initially unique and interesting with their different bounties and fighting styles. The "villains" of the show really never interested me. And the whole

reason why Swindler wants to undertake this pacifist role never resonated with me when she simply walked into a mess and became a wanted criminal. But as I say in life just like this show: children ruin everything.

The first season of Danmachi was a guilty pleasure that several of us, including myself, held dear to our hearts. With a abysmal second season, I was hoping that this season could have at least been an improvement. Unfortunately, the stakes got even lower. With a new waifu introduced this season, previous characters that shined in the first season once again took a back seat role. In my opinion, this anime continually lets me down. Bell is starting to get into Kirito ranks of annoying. I really don't have much to say about this anime because the substance is so bland and boring. Watch the
