"Do you like One Punch Man?"
"Yes"
"Give Mob Psycho a try!"
"Ok."
I am so happy I ended up watching this show, because I would've never expected it to be so engaging with the exceptional characters, plot and especially fights. After watching the first season of Mob Psycho, I'm thoroughly impressed and somewhat bemused as to how this anime gets frequently labeled as the 'baby brother' to One Punch Man. When in fact, Mob Psycho could be the better counterpart (It's close)

Story 9/10
I mean it's genius really.
A boy who lives an emotionless life dealing with the world around him, attempting to not lose control.
That's it, and like I said it's genius
As a student, there is constant social pressure on you to perform, be the best at something, get good grades, not get bullied etc, but what if there was a reason you couldn't do all these things? What if something powerful, yet unwanted, suppressed what you wanted out of a normal lifestyle? Shigeo Kageyama (Mob) depicts this through his hidden profile as a powerful esper with immense psychic power. No one knows about this aside Reigen Arataka (We'll talk about him later) meaning Mob is seen by his peers as just an inconspicuous person with a lack of presence. The story revolves around Mob's attempt to live a regular life with school, a part time job and the people around him. All while attempting to keep control of his powers, leading to some amazing and relatable scenes for the audience.
Art 9/10
Some people don't like the animation of Mob Psycho, I'll admit, I was a bit shaky on it when I first started, but after about 5 minutes of the first episode it's completely fine and you'll truly appreciate the uniqueness and quality of design that the producers have made.
Sound 8/10
Not a big fan of the opening, but the sound effects and OSTs of this show are incredible and fit the scenes perfectly. Again, the quality of production really shines in this department.
Characters 9.5/10
A true achievement for this show has been it's incredible cast of characters, from the main group to the Body improvement club this anime is absolutely stacked.
I've already talked about Mob quite a bit, I'd like to reiterate that he is a truly relatable, genuine character that depicts the issues and journey of a teenage boy very effectively, but this section of the review is primarily reserved for one of my favourite characters in all of anime, Reigen Arataka.
A truly perfect character. Developed, humanized and doesn't need superpowers to be interesting.
As a character in the Mob Psycho world, he is a fraud, manipulator and a certified con artist. However, as a mentor to Mob he is everything. The one person to him who is understanding, caring and wants him to succeed. It's these two lives that Reigen has that is so incredibly interesting. As he is always in a desperate scramble to make sure they don't overlap each other. Like I said before, this is HUMAN, meaning we can understand these characters decisions and lives because we can imagine ourselves in a similar scenario.
The main reason this show works so well is because of the chemistry between Mob and Reigen. Like I said, Mob depicts the struggles of the teenage lifestyle (Popularity, grades etc.) but consequently, Reigen depicts the struggle of adulthood and the concept of making ends meet.
Dimple's also an interesting character, in that he is not only great for comedic relief, but he has an oppressed ambition to become a god at the hands of regular school boy Mob. The interactions Dimple has with Mob makes for great entertainment, in that Mob, with extreme power, wants to be more normal, and Dimple, who is less powerful wants all the glory and dominance in the world. It is Dimple's interaction with Mob and the rest of the cast however, that leads him to understand the rational perspectives of others. (clever stuff)
An argument suggests that some of the other characters aren't as well developed, which is true. However, they don't need to be. Ritsu for example plays the 'More accomplished big brother role' perfectly and contributes well to the show.
In short, if you want good characters, this shows for you.
Enjoyment 10/10
The drama, fights and relatable nature of this anime is why it is so enjoyable and addicting. Hours will go by and you'll realize 'Oh shit I'm already halfway through the season.' My advice is to just enjoy it while it lasts. Enough said.
Overall 9/10
A truly incredible piece for the anime medium that has lead me to write this review. With an incredible cast of characters, story, animation, sound effects, music etc. I highly recommend this show to any anime fan. Especially if you're a shounen fan or more specifically, someone who enjoyed One Punch Man. Cannot wait for season 3 of this show to come out.

First review ever here so just bare with me.
Konosuba is an anime that I came into with high hopes initially as I had heard people RAVE about this show, also the vast majority of the reviews I found were positive which also gave me incentive to watch it. I was prepared for a engaging, fun and most of all humorous watch. Oh how I was wrong. Story 2/10: Aside from all the other reasons this show wasn't my favourite (There are a lot), the story has to be one of the weakest and tedious in all of the anime I've watched so far.
