Well I can certainly say I won't be missing this show in the slightest. It'd be passable at best if all I had wanted was some visually bland wish fulfillment thing but coming in hoping for any level of decent romance it's been a complete failure.
Source readers run around talking about it being a slow burn but really their relationship had just stagnated and been padded out for episode after episode with barely any actual genuine developments beyond just enough of a tease each time at there being something concrete happening to move them beyond this "absolutely not at all definitely not basically already dating
...
totally just friends" stage they've been firmly stuck in for pretty much the entire series.
Which could be somewhat redeemable if the mains were at least able to carry the show but Amane and Mahiru are just the most absolutely nothing characters possible, even when the writer tried to introduce some level of dimensionality in them it was with the most cliche'd backstory elements possible and barely really leaned into it. They have zero charisma in any interaction throughout the show with basically any single cast member and between the two of them there's just not an ounce of chemistry.
Even worse than that, the way they engage with one another is completely alien, that plus all the touching one another but completely not actually acknowledging feelings they both have is unbearable to see episode after episode. Like holy shit 12th episode alone kicks off with Amane just going "if only I knew she actually liked me" after getting a kiss on the cheek as a response to him threatening that the next time she says he's cute or something like that he'll silence her without using his hand (which by the way wasn't at all a bloody awful scene in the first place.) Apparently that's somehow just not obvious enough of a sign on top of all the other obvious signs throughout the entire show on both sides.

if you enjoy ''romance'' light novels where the MC is as dense as a thousand black holes piled up together, sure. Read it.
If you like romance light novels where the MC has more self-esteem issues than a 1990s runaway fashion model, yeah, read it.
I dropped this light novel series after the dude goes to a shopping mall with the FMC, she goes off to buy something leaving the MC in the middle of the yard and two college girls approach him hitting on him hard, and not only does the MC not realize at all what is going on; the FMC seeing what is happening
...
gets jealous, jumps like really jumps onto the dude, forcing him to hold her against his chest, and then, if I recall it correctly, she tells the college girls she's the boy's girlfriend, and the MC thinks she could never possibly like him.
Come on, dude. This is so unrealistic it just made me drop the series. This MC is a total wimp.

Fun, brainless, meandering. I think they made a great narrative choice in sidelining the dude - he's important in the VN for obvious reasons but by cutting him down to a side character it puts the girls at the center of story. Nekopara doesn't have much depth and meanders its way through 12 episodes of minor dilemmas and happenings, which is serviceable for average slice of life fare but the repetative character quirks which define the show's humor don't really buoy it. The heart of Nekopara is watching denser than average characters do silly things and also having sex with said characters, this show does

half of that and it does it okay.
Weak animation when compared to the source material, and while some of that's inevitable in the transition Sayori's detailed character designs are missed. They also went with a very soft color palette for some reason, which comes off as washed out and doesn't make the characters pop. Lots of fanservice, mostly soft (though sufficiently gratuitous) with the exception of a few of the end cards. Pleasing atmosphere with comfortable background music and forgettable OP and ED.

Story: well it's just your typical age-gap, student-teacher love story. Nothing interesting with the plot really, student falls in love and then tries to woo the teacher then the teacher tries to stop them but ends up fucking them 'cause the student had given up. And apparently they "love" each other for some reason that I fail to appreciate. The story's poorly written, conflicts were amazing but because of poorly written story, the conflicts were wasted.
Characters: Bland af, the teacher would've been an interesting one given how this time it was a female student that was trying to force herself on him and he's trying

his best as a "teacher" to stop her for it was inappropriate. Was a good conflict given in some teacher-student stories I've read the male character was the pushy one and not the female. But then his character became shitty and bland af.
Art: Quite amazing, not that great yes but also not that bad. The steamy scenes are perfectly presented so that you might get a boner or two (or be wet as water) if you're not used to hardcore hentai. Both the expressions and anatomy are amazing.
Overall Review: If you're here just to satisfy your age-gap fetishes then you're in the right story especially if you're more into the sex scenes than the story itself. But if you're looking for the whole package and are expecting a well-written story and well-established setting then this one's not for you. I'd rate this one as 5/10.

When i first started watching Darling in the Franxx, i quite enjoyed it. I enjoyed the world the characters were set in and the drama interwoven between the characters as they are trying to understand their purposes in the world and how they relate to each other. The themes of romance, alienation, and reliance on ones friends make the show compelling to watch. In many ways, Darling in the Franxx shares a lot of characteristics with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although this makes the show less original, i would say there would be no better show to take influence from. Therefore, the show is still enjoyable

despite some lacks of originality. I had issues at first with the show not fleshing out the world very well and explaining who the antagonists were. However, i had hope that the show would reveal all at the proper moment. I was kept engaged because the show gave me the feeling that the world wasn't what it seemed and that i would find out something sinister about the world itself. i was disappointed when i found out that the reveals and explanations behind the world was lackluster and lacked deeper development. That is one of the biggest issues with the anime itself. Things just aren't fleshed out enough. Some characters get development here and there, but other characters remain standard archetypes and fade into irrelevancy. The world seems intriguing at first. however, the viewer will be able to point out many plot holes and inconsistencies within the story. The many flaws of the show really come to light in the final stretch of episodes where almost all of the plot is scraped for a new enemy to emerge that the viewer neither cares for nor understands. All of the subtle world building of the first half gets traded in for bloated set-pieces that undercut what the viewer originally enjoyed the anime for. Despite all this, the first half of the anime is extremely enjoyable. The characters are likable and easily gain investment from the viewer. Their relationships add heart to the show and make the show different from a standard action mecha. However, the lack of development for the other features of the show make it fall extremely short. the show had promise. but it comes across in the final half as rushed and leaves the viewer extremely disappointed.
1. I felt that this series should have had a second season with maybe twelve episodes due to the fact that (without me spoiling anything) the anime in the second half of it's run after episode 15 feels incredibly rushed: -almost as if everyone involved was told that they are only getting these twenty-four episodes so make it work- kind of rushed.
2. The series takes neck breaking plot twists that make no sense later on, that only compound the first mentioned point as it doesn't get to 'naturally' progress and feels incredibly forced.
3. Then later explanations given when trying to richen the world experience that are presented to us... don't feel very satisfying or mind-blowing, almost as if the creators crunched on time couldn't make the details as rich or be as creative about their vision, or it feels like they got lazy when under-pressure. Which it is? I don't know.

(I watched Hellsing back in late 2000s, therefore not everything may be accurate in the review)
Despite the departure from the manga's narrative, and the limited fluidity of animation compared to the OVA, I actually really enjoyed Hellsing. It gives you more breathing room to get to the know the characters and setting; and it has a very gradual increase in tension that lends itself more to the horror genre than its successor, which is more action-oriented.
I actually enjoyed some of the character designs (particularly Seras and Integra) more than the stylized ones in the OVA, which make them seem less believable and human

compared to the more grounded ones seen here.
The voice acting is phenomenal in Japanese, and the action scenes, while sparse, are engaging. The reservation of the omake-style comedy scenes for being post-credits "preview" segments that even had their own mini-arc I felt was intelligent as it does not contrast with the darker and more serious tone of the rest of the show while also livening the mood at the end of each episode, solving a huge problem with the OVA series and manga, in my opinion.
The opening theme and score are also very cool, with hip, jazzy sounds that fit with the atmosphere and visuals of the show perfectly.
Overall, this gets a bad rep as the inferior series that I feel is very unfair, as this has many elements that I feel work better writing-wise than the OVA/manga.
