Honestly idk if I put spoilers in this, so consider yourself warned.
This Anime is solid and very good to say the least, but unfortunately the second half of the season drags down the overall rating that I'm giving this anime. so I'll try to give two responses for each section in relation to this.
Story (8)
The reason that is an 8 and not a 9 or even a 10 is because of the second arc. If the anime ended at 25, concluding the anime with the death of L then I could have died a happy man. That being said the first arc wasn't perfect,
...
with the repetitive nature of Light's and Lawliet's multiple fights that often made it harder to get through certain episodes, but of course the anime always gave me that giddy feeling every time I saw one outsmart the other, providing a compelling basis for a unique story.
Art (8)
It could have been the 720p quality that I was watching it in, or the older style character designs that the show encompasses, but I only found this anime's art "good" and not amazing like many people believe it to be, also notably the art does fit the ascetic that the show was going for and sometimes provided unique and eye-catching situations that were masterfully done.
Sound (7)
It's good, fit the scenes well. I liked the first Opening and Ending but wasn't a big fan of the second (of both).
Characters (8)
I loved the characters in the first arc. Both main characters developed significantly and were likable in their own ways, both intriguing and very much different from one another. In comparison the second had a noticeable lack of interesting and meaningfully developed main antagonists, especially the two orphans acting as the "replacement" for the lead antagonist and story aim L who, once again, had a likeable nature that almost isn't reflected in either of his successors, on the contrary Mello was an annoying and rash and idiotically smart; sharing striking similarities to a generic annoying main character from other anime. I did get the same rough feeling that L had in Near, but still was lacking the same duo-enemy dynamic that uniquely plagued (in a good way) the first arcs main characters. Oh, also Light is noticeably more useless, irrational and impulsive in the second arc. (trust me, I read other reviews initially thinking that they were being nit picky as well). That being said, there are some instances where you get that sense of Light actually being capable.
Enjoyment (7)
I did enjoy this anime, especially the first part of the season. The story was intriguing, compelling and unique, while the second half was the same old stuff, just worse. And I did find some enjoyment out of the second part too, kind of like what people would consider a "time waster" anime.
Overall (7)
This is honestly a good anime, and the ending wasn't half bad either. It was just over hyped imo. Honestly it is hilarious that the Shinigami are the most likable characters in the second arc. The only reason I could consider the ending "fulfilling" was because of a promise made (that was fulfilled) in the first arc. Light became hilariously stupid and incompetent in the second arc. His inevitable loss was due to a new-found stupidity that caused him to slip up and be careless early on (in the second arc), completely contradicting the previous development placed into Light's character. Although I'm probably just overstating it... and it could also be considered that his "descent into madness" was what caused it, but I don't see it.

This season is truly a massive improvement over the first season, the humor has drastically improved along with the action scenes, drama and "feel" moments. The characters had far more depth to them through the second season than the first and they did a great job utilizing every character. Also, Atsushi got a lot more useful towards the end of this season, so don't worry about that. There is a lot more port mafia in this season as well and trust me, that isn't a bad thing.
If you were on the edge about continuing this anime after the mediocre first season, I strongly recommend
...
it. There is plenty of good things in this season.

Before the review, I shall give you the series in chronological order!
Steins;Gate eps 1-22: don't you dare watch 23 and 24 yet
Steins;Gate Alternate 23: watch this one instead of 23 and 24
Steins;Gate 0 1-23: start on the second series
Steins;Gate 23-24: now you can go back to these two
...
Steins;Gate Deja vu movie
This anime wraps it up amazing all the way through. 23 and 24 of the first season can technically be called the episodes 24 and 25 of season 2. The good thing about this series and how this isn't in direct order is the way they planned it out. You assume "oh well they aren't going to know this and this" when realistically that is how it is meant to be due to the time travel hocus and pocus throughout the story line. Simply put they did a great job looping it around.

Rarely do I ever find an anime that can fully captivate me and produce the same reactions out of me multiple times. This anime was a truly amazing adaptation and one of my favorite anime to date (hence there is bias). I'm not entirely sure when I spoil parts of anime so take that as a fair warning.
Story - 10
The story is amazing. There are no other ways to describe it, there are plenty of ways to write a story and therefore plenty of ways to mess up. What the author managed here was a flowing story that, although felt confusing at the start became extremely fun and also interesting. Most if not all events can be understood through the extensive watch of both seasons and the movie. 25 (including alternate 23) episodes for this first season was a great choice and did the story justice, I doubt I would have enjoyed this anime nearly as much if it was only 12 or 13 episodes. The story did plot twists extremely well and I was surprised, even through my second run I was against my seat, biting my nails the entire way through. I did hesitate to watch this anime again after the first time. That is because this anime does it so well that it is beyond the point where I feel I can just "rewatch" it. I truly loved the story. (trying my hardest not to give spoilers ;) ).
Art - 8
Captivating and unique enough, fits with the story and has great character expressions.
Sound - 8
It's very good for an anime made in 2011, hence why it gets such a great score. The music fits well and wasn't too sloppy, and the voice acting for the dub was outstanding.
Characters- 10
The characters are where this anime truly shines, the development throughout the entire story is both captivating and heartbreaking. The characters are something that everyone who watches this anime will have a hard time detaching from after watching it. The humor is also outstanding especially with Okabe where you could literally feel yourself cringe to the point it was hilarious.
Enjoyment - 10
Absolutely outstanding.
Overall - 10
I'd say that I would give this a 9.5 if I could, but I love it WAYY to much. I'd recommend going and watching it now, I was turned off at the start because of the rather strange name, the weird topic, and the strange goopy bananas, but I realize now that, that was a total mistake.

This anime can be described with multiple words, but I chose just one. Masterpiece.
This man/ loli/ genius basically made the new standard for top tier character development. We get to watch as this man develops his fetish throughout the entire series, be warned. This anime will make you cry, it will make you laugh, and it will make you experience other emotions. But most importantly, it will kickstart your love for twintails. The sheer love of twintails that Souji has inspires the same in us, that is the true masterpiece that I talk about when I talk about this anime, of course, there is
...
also the pervy lizardmen who are, may I add, the perfect antagonist to the incarnation of their fetishes which naturally adds layers to this anime. The comedy is also expertly done with a perfect combination of comedy and comedy, this mixed in with the epic and tense sound effects that present themselves after the third watch of this anime. From a review standpoint I give the anime:
Story: 10
Art: 10
Sound: 10
Character: 10
Enjoyment: 10
Overall: 10
This Anime is truly amazing, and I implore you to give it a try (WARNING: This anime isn't for you if you are sensitive to crossdressing, mass perversion or anything else that might disgust you).

Quite honestly, I struggled to make it through this anime...
I was hoping for a good anime, a whole bunch of laughs and a compelling storyline, but oh boy... was I wrong.
Story: 1
The story has literally zero progression, I mean the story is just so unbelievably meh that I don't have that much to write about, it just seems like one punch man done horribly wrong.
Art: 5
...
The art was alright, kinda mediocre, nice art style alright animation, nothing special.
Sound: 2
The only form of sound is people talking about everything they do and some music... I think.
Character: 4
It's abysmal, it lacks any kind of real progression, even Saitama has more character development than this mc, all he does is go "oh look, more stuff".
Enjoyment: 2
aids, nuff said.
Overall: 3
Although the standard is to give it a 5 if it's mediocre, this is just stupid...
yw for this epic review btw
