I have to say, Kiznaiver is very unique just like most of Studio Trigger’s shows. From the art style to the story and characters, all of it is so different and it is a breath of fresh air in the anime world. Although one thing to not about this series is that is not for everyone in my opinion. If you are one person who is looking for action here, you won’t find it; it’s just pain, sorrow, and a lot of drama and relationships.
Story: 8/10
Kiznaiver’s story focuses around 6 teenagers who are abducted and have their pain connected to each other. They become
...
testers of the Kizna system which was trying to bring world peace. Now this story is just great overall. Trigger still is able to tell a unique story and have it be interesting for most of the time. Now it was a bit slow in the beginning episodes and it was kind of boring there but the latter episodes are probably some of the best I’ve seen in a while. Although the story gets sort of confusing sometimes and some things may not make any sense, it is still a great story that focuses on the characters and their desires. The story itself excels at drama related moments and pulls them off so well. The problem other viewers may have with the story though is the melodrama of this story. There is a lot of it and it succeeds in pulling your heart. The show is mostly dialogue like the Monogatari Series with minimal fight scenes. It also includes some romance and that romance is good. I’m honestly surprised that is not on the genre tags. Overall, if you enjoy you dialogue, melodrama, and romance, then this story will appeal to you.
Art: 9/10
Studio Trigger yet again gives us a very interesting art style. Although some people may not like it, I personally love it. It’s so refreshing to see it compared to the one used in most shows today. Everything is well animated and set piece design is just amazing. Everything is detailed and it is absolutely beautiful. I wish I could call this a masterpiece of art but Studio Ufotable has shown me that there is better art out there, especially with the Kara no Kyoukai series.
Sound: 8/10
“LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME” is a great Opening by BOOM BOOM SATELLITES. With great animation and unique song that isn’t normally heard, it definitely makes for a memorable OP. The ending, “Hajimari no Sokudo” by Sangatsu no Phantasia is also a great ending song that fits with the ending of the series. The OST is great and helps out a lot during the melodrama moments.
Characters: 9/10
Kiznaiver presents us with some great characters. All of them are interesting in their own way and showed us great development over the course of the series. From the relationship development to the development of each character’s personalities, traits, and feeling, I feel that Kiznaiver’s writers should be commended for making such great characters. Their designs are all unique and the pain they experience is something that the writers tap into and expand on. Most of them are interesting from Katsuhira who cannot feel pain to Chidori who loves him, Sonozaki who is the mastermind behind the experiment, Niko the cute and adorable character that is like Mako for anybody who watched Kill la Kill, Tsuguhito, the guy who nobody really cares about, Tenga, the bully turned into more of a good guy, and finally Honoka, the one with probably one of the most tragic backstories in the series. As much as I want to continue on talking about the characters, I would venture into spoiler territory so you’ll have to watch it if you want to find out but it is well worth it.
Enjoyment: 8/10
I enjoyed watching Kiznaiver. Its uniqueness and being made by Studio Trigger really hooked me on at the start. It went down a path I didn’t expect but it was well worth it as it made for a great series. The only main problem I have with the series was that I was sort of bored during the beginning part of the series and some things just didn’t make too much sense to me but overall, it a good anime and I enjoyed it.
Overall: 8/10
Kiznaiver is a unique work from Trigger. It has an interesting story with great characters to compliment it. Trigger never fails to impress me with their art style and the sound was great. I enjoyed most of this series and it’s definitely something I would recommend to someone. Although this series will not appeal to everyone, it’s good to give is a shot.
Watch if:
- Love drama shows such as Anohana or Nagi no Asukara
- Like to see a unique art style such as those found in Kill la Kill, or the many of the Shaft anime.
- Want lots of dialogue
- Want a unique story
- Want great characters
Don’t Watch if:
- You are looking for action
- Do not like lots of dialogue

Bungou Stray Dogs was one of the better anime of this season. Not the best overall but still a decent start to the franchise as a second season is coming out in Fall 2016. I did enjoy this anime for some parts although I myself found this anime quite boring in some episodes. In my opinion, it will appeal to a lot of people due to its action and decent story.
Story: 6/10
The story of Bungou Stray Dogs is decent as of right now. It focuses a lot on our main character, Atsushi becoming a weretiger and how it affects his life. He goes
...
to a detective agency which shelter him from the Port Mafia that are trying to take him because he has a large bounty on his head from all the chaos he has done. Now this anime is just boring for me, It does pick up in the later part of the series, around episode 10 but it is just plain boring before that. Nothing particularly interesting besides the detective scene happens before then and it feels like some of it is filler. If you can survive that though, the story is more interesting and will surely bring us a treat in the second season. The main problem I have with the story itself is just how boring it can be. It was so hard to just watch it during some scenes because it wasn’t very interesting. It was like watching the first episode of Fate/Zero for the first time and extending that for around 6 episodes. Although the story is unique, the writing just didn’t interest me until 3/4 of the way through this anime.
Art: 7/10
The art of Bungou Stray Dogs is good for the most part. It’s not the best by anyone’s standards but it’s not bad at all. Background art looks fine any character designs are good.
Sound: 7/10
The sound is solid with a solid Op and decent Ed and it is sometimes nice to hear but there is no stand out track in my opinion and nothing I will remember very well such as Sword Land from SAO or The battle is to the strong from Fate/Zero. Overall, still a solid soundtrack
Characters: 6/10
The characters to me are sort of interesting but they can honestly be annoying. Dazai to me is interesting but is dragged down by his desire to commit double suicide all the time. Atsushi is always afraid and I really don’t like that about him. Although he can be cool at some moments, he just feels like an average character. Some of the cast can be forgettable while others aren’t. There are some very memorable characters but the others just fade into obscurity for me. I believe they could be better developed too as only Atsushi, Dazia, and Kunikida are actually sort of developed throughout the series. Everyone else has little to no character development.
Enjoyment: 7/10
I did enjoy the last part of the series a lot but I did not like the first part of the series. It was boring for me. I did not enjoy the comedy at all during this series either. It isn’t very funny and the dialogue wasn’t very interesting. Action was good but that was really the only thing I enjoyed Bungou Stray Dogs.
Overall: 7/10
With decent characters and a boring story until the later part of the anime, Bungou Stray Dogs sets itself up for the second season in Fall 2016. Animation and sound are solid and are a nice sized + to this series. Overall, should, you watch Bungou Stray Dogs? Yes, but it may not be for everyone.
Watch If:
- You like some good action
- Liked Kekkai Sensen
- A more unique spin on Mystery series
Don’t Watch If:
- You like comedy (it’s bad)
- Characters and Story are a priority for you

Joker Game is an anime about spies in Japan before the outbreak of World War 2. I’ll admit, it was pretty good in the first few episodes. I only felt like it went down after around episode 2 as episode 3 was really boring in my opinion. Although some episodes did make up for it, the ending was lackluster. It showed so much promise but failed to deliver on what it could have been, sort of like Charlotte.
Story: 5/10
The story is average at best with no overarching plot line and lots of confusing things at time. Script writing is decent for most of the
...
series but it is better in the first 2 episodes and a few other episodes. Most of the story tries to develop the characters but it doesn’t do a good a very good job with it. It just tells a side story of some of the spies which can be interesting sometimes but most of the time, it is really boring. You only hear of the characters in those side stories and they never appear again and it really feels like all the work they did was for nothing. The title is also called Joker Game which is a game that they play in the beginning of the anime and it would have been an interesting plot point but they don’t take advantage of it and just leave it there doing nothing to expand on it. They also just leave things about spies such as betrayal and deception in the dust. It feels like they had a great idea about the story but they absolutely fail the premise with these episodes about the characters which are uninteresting.
Art: 7/10
The art can be decent to amazing at time. It has its good moments but it also has its bad. Take for instance the train scene in episode 6. The background outside the train looks terrible. It’s like you take the grass texture from a game made in 1980, slap it onto the ground, and put nothing in the background. Other than that, the artwork is fine.
Sound: 8/10
The sound is solid. There Op is great and the Ed is fine. Everything else is fine and adds to the experience.
Characters: 5/10
The characters in my opinion are just boring. The only one that was actually interesting in this anime was Yuuki due to the way he is presented in this anime. Every other character is forgettable though. This is because many of the characters only get one episode to develop, grow, and become fully fleshed out. Now one episode is not enough for this. This makes all the characters feel really bland. Some can be somewhat interesting but most of the time, it is just boring. The side characters are actually more interesting than the main characters in some cases. The German general guy and the British intelligent officer were more interesting with a way more interesting character design than all the main characters. Overall though, the characters felt very average compared to many other series and how they handle character development within twelve episodes.
Enjoyment: 6/10
I really enjoyed the first two episodes of Joker Game. Although it was fun, all good things come to an end and it came rather quickly. Episodes 3-12 were for the most part, a step down from the first 2 episodes and didn’t give me the same sense of enjoyment that the first 2 did. The ending was especially disappointing for me and I really did not enjoy it.
Overall: 6/10
Joker Game was a unique show as it was set right before World War 2 and telling the stories of spies, something rarely done in anime. It starts off with an amazing first 2 episodes but with lackluster characters, and with an uninteresting story, makes for an experience that is quite boring although it can be interesting at times. Although the art and sound are solid, it can’t save Joker Game from its story and characters.
Watch if:
- You want something more unique in an anime
- Can stand an okay story with okay characters
- You liked Baccano!
- You like it where each episode focuses on a character
Don’t Watch If:
- You need a good story or characters
- Need a good ending
- Can’t watch anything boring
- Need a lot of action in the show

Welcome to the probably the most cancer show of the season. It is absolutely awful and is the most generic show that has ever existed. Hell, it’s so generic that they can’t even do anything original. It’s like the writer wanted to write a light novel about something good but then said, I have no ideas, hmm what are my favorite shows and what is popular? I know, let’s take the girls and setting of Infinite Stratos, get the sister from Oreimo, copy Emiya from Fate/ stay night but then change his gender and also make this the best harem ever with the most ridiculously
...
overpowered Kirito that has ever lived. It’s trash although props to this anime for once actually having the MC choose a girl. Yes, that actually happened.
Story: 1/10
This is quite literally the most generic harem anime in the history of history. Even more generic than Infinite Stratos and I don’t even know how that is possible. It basically follow this guy named Kisaragi Hayato as he goes to this giant ship in the water called “Little Garden” to train to defeat these things called Savages. Now the anime doesn’t tell you where these giant insect things come from nor does it tell you anything about them besides that they are attacking earth. It shows one scene with them coming from space but other than that, never explains their origins or anything like that. Everything else is so generic. Nothing is explained. It’s a stupid generic harem story and it sucks.
Art: 2/10
Well this shows looks like it was made in 2006. Literally it does. It looks bland, terrible and nothing amazing. The show could have used a lot better art direction.
Sound: 2/10
Well I hate the Op and Eds for this show. There terrible in my opinion and the ost is nothing special at all. The insert songs didn’t fare any better.
Characters: 1/10
These are the blandest, generic, stupid, poorly written, and designed literally the same way as every other character in the harem genre. Hayato is your average MC that like every other MC, is dumb and is a chick magnet. Then we have a rip off of Charlotte from Infinite Stratos, your big boobs president (captain in this anime), the one with the big bro complex, and the one that falls in love with him for no reason. Every other character receives no development what so ever and they are all pretty bad. The villain doesn’t show up until like the last 2 episodes and she’s pretty stupid as well. Overall, these were god awful characters.
Enjoyment: 1/10
Man of man did I hate watching this anime. It was so generic and a show that people probably have seen a HUNDRED times already. It was a waste of my time to watch this and it was just a drag to watch this. Nothing could have saved this thing as it was already in the harem genre and with the generic characters that just added more to the fire that is this show.
Overall: 1/10
I’m sure you already know my opinion on this anime so I’ll stop talking about that. Here is why you want to or don’t want to watch this series for anyone who is looking to watch it.
Watch if:
- You like harem animes
- You like Romance (bad romance btw)
- You want to see the MC actually CHOOSE A GIRL
- Don’t mind god awful stories or characters
- Can stand looking at bad artwork and sound
Don’t watch if:
- You hate harem animes
- You need good characters and stories
- You need good artwork
- Hated SAO (it’s worse than SAO for sure)
- Looking for a good show
- Wanting to be entertained

Oh what wasted potential on a show that seemed so promising. It had an interesting premise, it had the director, but this series just fell apart from the first episode. I thought it would be promising but oh how wrong could I be. This series just gives you many what the hell moments and stuff like why the heck would this happen and also jumps into the Anime Garden of Sinners. I feel like if this series was around 25 episodes, given a Fate/Zero type of character development, and had more time to develop the overall story, it would have been way more enjoyable.
Story:
...
1/10
Mayoiga’s story is wasted potential everywhere. The basic plot is really a bunch of people on a bus go to a lost village since they want to escape their horrible reality. They go to a village that seems that it was abandoned not too long ago and try to live there. Little do they know that monsters are in the forest outside of the village. That’s basically the plot of this series and boy does it really shit on the plot a lot. First of all, this anime literally explains next to nothing. There are so many plot holes and wtf moments that leave so many questions unanswered that it’s even worse than SAO in that respect and practically every single other anime out there. Hell, even Chaos Dragon has less plot holes than this. It really deteriorates the viewing experience and the overall feel and investment you have into the story. The ending of this story is also very abrupt and not an ending that I would like.
Art: 6/10
Okay so Mayoiga’s art isn’t that bad except for the CGI monsters at some points. There really isn’t too much to talk about the art other than it looks decent and looks like something from 2015 and 2016. The CG looks like absolute shit sometimes, and is so ugly.
Sound: 6/10
The sound is okay. It heightens the tone sometimes but also just feels out of place in others. The Op is a good op for once but the Ed is something that I don’t really like too much. Overall, the sound is okay, it’s at least better than some anime in this season.
Characters: 1/10
The characters are the worst part of this series. I immediately realized that the series’ cast was doomed to fail since there are so many characters. There must have been at least 20 or something on the bus and it would have been impossible to develop all the characters thoroughly. I don’t even remember half the characters names. The show literally just forgets about pretty much all the characters halfway through and most of them don’t get any development at all. Only a select few get some development and they are the characters you hate. This series doesn’t know how to develop characters properly and has such a large cast of characters that even if it tried, it couldn’t develop them in the time frame given. All the characters are easily forgettable and development would have been better if the story had a sort of Fate/Zero type of development where every character at least gets some development.
Enjoyment: 1/10
I really hated watching this series. It was the story and poor characters that really dragged my enjoyment. The sound and animation sort of brought up my enjoyment but it was not enough to bring my enjoyment of this show from a 1 to a 2. It’s bad, cringe-worthy, and not worth watching at all. The fact that this show could have just been so much better really brought down my enjoyment too.
Overall: 2/10
This show is bad. It’s has bad story, characters, and is un-enjoyable overall. It also has decent animation and sound but that can’t save this show. It had so much potential, all wasted in my opinion. You should never watch this show at all. It’s one of the worst shows of this season and should not be watched at all. The only reason you would watch this is because you want to watch something made by the director of Another and that’s about it.

Oh how do I describe Big Order? It is pretty much a garbage truck headed straight for the dump. It’s absolutely horrible. Surprisingly, it isn’t the worst of the season somehow… This anime in my opinion deserves it right to reside in the Anime Garden of Sinners along with other absolutely terrible series such as Chaos Dragon and Divine Gate. Yes, it is that bad. Now you may wonder how it was so bad? It had the writer of Mirai Nikki and the same studio that produced it. What went so horribly wrong?
Story: 1/10
Jesus Christ was this story a mess. The basic plot is
...
that our Main Character, Eiji who looks exactly the same as Yuki but without the cap wished for something which caused the “Great Destruction.” But here is one thing, they call it a great destruction, so shouldn’t everything look ruined? Shouldn’t there be only a few survivors? Shouldn’t it be more post-apocalyptic? Nope, Big Order doesn’t even know what it means by saying Great Destruction, it shows you a perfectly fine world with many people living, no building collapsed, and there is even SCHOOL going on. How does that make sense in something called the “Great Destruction?” This therefore already breaks our reality on the story and this so called “Great Destruction.” We can even tell this story has no confidence in itself with the absurdity that it has sometimes and the fan service. There are many uncomfortable topics in this series such as incest and sex. They really should put hentai on the genres of this series. The series pacing is all over the place and many events are things you will not care about. Not to mention the overall poor writing of the dialogue and scenario. Many things are also left unexplained and overall, this story was left in pieces by then end.
Art: 4/10
How do I describe Big Order’s art? It’s overall poor for a 2016 anime. Even anime that are worse than this show in this season have better art work. This makes Hundred’s art looks like Leonardo Da Vinci painted it. Backgrounds don’t look very good. The sky is for some reason green until the last episode; don’t know who made that decision. Character designs are all generic and we have seen this before. They literally look the same as Mirai Nikki, just change the hair a little bit and heights too, then you have the characters of this series. Overall the art for this series was poor.
Sound: 4/10
Is there anything redeemable about the sound in the series? Well I can’t really talk about it as I was so disgusted that I couldn’t even listen to the sound. It’s extremely forgettable. Huh, that’s probably why I can’t talk about it, because I forgot everything about the sound. That’s how forgettable it is. The Opening and Endings are extremely bad too. Even though it sort of fits with Big Order, it really is a bad song on both ends.
Characters: 1/10
Honestly the worst part of Big Order. I really hate every single character in this series. It’s really hard to find a series where I actually hate every single character. Even in one of the worst series of all time, Chaos Dragon, I found a character that I actually liked. That really tells you that this show is bad. It really is never explained what motivations some of the characters have and it is a huge cast and trying to develop all of them in 10 episodes is impossible. Another good example of that is this season’s Mayoiga. Dialogue between characters is poor and you really can’t feel any emotion for any of the characters. Some are just introduced out of the blue and you are like “Who are you?” Character development is quite literally non-existent. Eiji for literally the entire series just says “I’m gonna save Sena!” Literally every episode he just says that. It’s quite literally the same with every other character in the series too. Rin is like “I’m going to kill Eiji,” the fortune teller is just like “I’m going to make love to Eiji,” and so on and so forth for literally every other character.
Enjoyment: 1/10
This show is probably one of the most unenjoyable shows to watch. I literally had to drag myself to KissAnime and cringe at how bad this series was every Friday. A poor story with poor characters makes for an overall poor anime. I seriously considered just dropping the anime entirely as every episode felt really long and not worth watching. Completely the opposite vibe from a great show such as Re:Zero which wanted me to keep watching every episode and each one felt like 5 minutes long. A good way of saying how un-enjoyable this series was is saying it was like watching an episode of Endride or Divine Gate.
Overall: 2/10
This show is quite bad, but somehow was not the worst of the season. Yes, Spring 2016 had even worse series than this. The poor story, characters, and lack of enjoyment that it gives you really brought this show down to something like watching that live action Dragon Ball movie where everyone was white but the sensei. The art and sound of this series really did not help at all. It just kept dragging down everything about it. So is it worth watching Big Order? No and I hope that is abundantly clear by the paragraphs that explain everything that I hate about this show. I hope this review was helpful in convincing you not to watch Big Order.

If I am being honest right now, I loved Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. To me, it was a fresh look into the Fantasy RPG genre, one which is overcrowded with absolutely god awful shows. It is one of the special shows in this genre in part due to its realism in storytelling in its genre and actual well developed characters.
Story: 8/10
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar tells the story of 7 characters in a world they have magically transported to. Many other characters have also been transported there for no apparent reason. This large group of people forms smaller groups to go and hunt
...
monsters in the surrounding area for loot and to survive. Now you may be wondering to yourself, man this sounds a lot like everything else in this genre, why should I watch it? Well, this is because unlike many of the other shows in this series, Grimgar gives us weak characters that actually develop and grow unlike those Over-powered MCs (I’m looking at you Kirito). The characters have to develop to survive in this world, hone their skills, work on learning new skills, coordinate as a team, and many things you would expect to see in the survival of a group of people. Although the pacing of the story is really slow, it benefits this show helping to develop the characters more thoroughly. The story itself is great but with a generic start, and A-1 pictures being A-1 pictures, the story just fell short in the end not living up to my expectation of how the ending would play out.
Art: 10/10
Now if there is one thing that A-1 pictures can actually do good, it’s the art work of a series. This is some of the best art I’ve seen in a while from an anime. The background is wonderful. The water colored background really stands out to make it different from many other anime out there. There is little to no drop in quality throughout the series. Animation is smooth, clean, it looks wonderful.
Sound: 9/10
The sound is great in this series. It really lends itself to certain scenes. The opening and ending songs are all very beautiful and I really enjoyed them. The insert song “seeds” is also one of the best insert songs I’ve heard in a while. It’s wonderful to hear absolutely great to hear such amazing songs from (K)NoW_NAME.
Characters: 10/10
The characters are absolutely one of the best parts of the series. Most of the characters get great development. Almost all the main characters get a good amount of development and the development is actually very interesting. From tragic backstories in some, dealing with loss in all of them, and how they interact with each other all give us a good look into these characters. These characters also aren’t strong, they are weak, and grow as the story progresses. How they look at life, and what they do in the aftermath of some events really helps to give these characters a realistic feeling. Their reactions to everything feel so authentic. It’s not like watching Sword Art Online where character development is absolutely trash; this anime takes time to develop all its characters. This makes the series slow overall but makes it so much more enjoyable when you actually feel attached to the characters from their backstories and what happens to them. It’s an absolute masterpiece in terms of developing its characters to the fullest and has some of the best characters I have seen in an anime.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I loved this anime, it was an absolute blast to watch in part to its difference to other anime in this genre. It didn’t go through with many of the clichés and did things you would normally not expect in this genre. I really enjoyed that originality aspect of this series. The slow pacing rather than killing the experience for me, heightened it. This was what I though Sword Art Online should have been.
Overall: 9/10
So do I recommend watching Hai to Gensou no Grimgar? Yes, an absolute yes. You must watch this series if you like the Fantasy/RPG genre. This anime shows how good a fantasy anime can be after years of horrible fantasy anime. It brings out all the good points of what a fantasy anime should be. With absolutely amazing characters, sound and world-class art, this is definitely one anime I will come back to watch again.

How does one make a great anime such as Full Metal Alchemist or Steins;Gate? An intriguing or unique plot? Great animation? Wonderful voice acting and music? Enjoyable characters? The answer is all of them. To truly make a good anime, one must combine all of these together into one enjoyable package. Plastic Memories is one anime that does this extremely well in most of these categories and was one of the most interesting animes of the spring 2015 season.
Story: 8/10
The story of Plastic Memories is mostly a compilation of short stories about retrieving androids called Giftias which are now everywhere in this stories’ future
...
society. Giftias are not your regular androids though. They are robots with a synthetic soul, each with their own personalities but they have one major problem: they only live for 81,920 hours. After this point, these Giftias turn violent, and lose their memories and personalities. Now this caught my attention very quickly. Why specifically 81,920 hours? Why do they even have a set life span? To me, this didn’t make too much sense. In fact, why after 81,920 hours do they go crazy and become violent. Seems like something that the company who made them would fix really quickly due to public safety concerns. Now if you can get over this minor detail, then you will find Plastic Memories a very cute and well-crafted story about the retrieval of Giftias and the story of Tsukasa and his partner Isla. Now this anime will focus more on the over-arching romance between Tsukasa and Isla so if you are looking for anything not related to that or the short stories on retrievals, then you will not like this anime and think of it as wasted potential. If you are looking for romance though, this is an absolutely perfect series for you and I would highly recommend it for anyone in it for that. If you also like any anime that is sad such as Anohana, and Angel Beats! Then you will enjoy this anime too.
Art: 9/10
I love the art style in this anime. It is amazing and really shines as one of the best parts of it. Animation is smooth and not done sloppily to produce something horrid like Sky Wizards Academy did. I really have nothing to complain about the art.
Sound: 9/10
This anime’s soundtrack is very peaceful and beautiful. If you are hoping for something memorable though, you won’t really get it as most of the songs are forgettable. Some songs from this sound track though are just some of my favorite such as the Opening “Ring of Fortune,” the insert song “again & again,” and the ending theme “Asayake no Starmine.” These songs are absolutely beautiful in my opinion all though you may not agree. These songs help solidify the tone and mood of the series and overall make for a more enjoyable experience.
Character: 7/10
The characters in this anime are amazing if they are in the main cast. Isla, Tsukasa, Kazuki, and Michiru all stand as an example of the great characters from this series. All these characters are developed throughout the series with their personalities changing all throughout. On the other hand though, because this series focuses so much on the romance between Isla and Tsukasa, it leaves out many of the other characters in the dust. Many of the extra characters have little development and lack a lot of characteristics making them boring in their scenes. There are characters that are in the between area such as Nina, Marcia, Souta, and the Grandma from episode one. They all get enough screen time in the little time they have and they all genuinely feel like they are part of the main cast. It’s unfortunate that this could not continue with many of the other characters though as some just get barely any development at all.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I loved this anime through and through. The romance between Isla and Tsukasa was interesting and fresh from what I have seen. Even now around a year after I finished the series, it still holds a place in my heart as one of the best anime I have watched. All of the important elements of an anime came together and made something almost worthy of being called a masterpiece. It was a wonderful ride from beginning to end and I will definitely re-watch this for many years to come.
Overall: 9/10
Even though I enjoyed this anime a lot, there are things that keep me from giving it a masterpiece 10/10 score. For one, even though I loved all the characters, I could just not let the minor character development slip by. The sometimes forgettable soundtracks, and some minor details that I would have loved to have seen expanded upon just forgotten in the middle of the series also brought it down from being a masterpiece. So should you watch Plastic Memories? Yes, even though it may not be for everyone, Plastic Memories is one anime that I highly recommend to anyone who likes the romance and drama genre.

Okay, this anime was the cancer of the Winter 2016 season. How bad could this be you may ask? So bad that I wanted to drop it but continued anyways to write this review so you people would know never to watch this. Well lets continue on with this review.
Story 1/10:
Well this was one of the worst things about this anime. I didn't even understand what the heck was going on during the entire story. Nobody understood what happened in this story from what I could see on the comment sections of KissAnime. It's so hard to follow this story at all. It just
...
jumps all over the place and seems like the writers didn't even care. Nobody cares about half the things that happen in this story too. Even the confusing story of Mekakucity Actors was still better, more straightforward, less confusing, and more interesting than this story. The backstories in this anime are also god awful. They don't make you care for any of the characters at all unlike what a backstory is suppose to do. Even the backstories of the characters of Mekakucity Actors was much better than this. Some other stuff that never made sense in this series was the entire play mini-arc of the series, getting to the divine gate, and like everything else in this series.
Art 5/10:
So the art wasn't that bad in this anime. It was smooth and pretty beautiful in some scene. For me though, I just could not get used to the unusual art style of this anime and didn't really like it that much but that's just me. Some scenes also look amazing but others just look god awful. Most of the time, it looks decent.
Sound 5/10:
So to be honest I only think that the opening of this anime was good compared to the rest of the sound tracks and the anime for that matter. Maybe it's because the opening is the most prominent song you will hear in this anime but most of this soundtrack is pretty forgettable.
Characters 1/10:
One of the worst things in this anime. Once again like what I did with my Sky Wizards Academy review, I'll go through many of the characters that I can remember.
Green haired girl:
Boring bland girl with backstory nobody cares about. Kinda annoying and has a normal character design.
Red hair guy:
Some arrogant dude that I would like to see die in a hole. You can't bring yourself to like this kid and for me, I just wished he just died.
Aoto:
So backstory is about being abused by parents and some brother leaving or something like that. 1st part sounds like something from this season *cough* Erased *cough*. Easily forgettable too.
Arthur:
Blond dude that wants to go to the divine gate and also makes tons of decisions that doesn't kinda make any sense.
Loki:
Okay so this character is sort of interesting with an interesting character design. Wants to rebuild the world or something for some random reason.
Oz:
Some dude that appears for like 15 minutes in the entire show and you really don't care about him. He apparently is some sort of god but I don't really know due to this anime not explaining anything
Dorothy:
Some childhood friend of the green haired girl. Don't really care about him and has some personality shift from the past to the present. Loved by Oz apparently.
Red haired guy father:
Some guy who appears for 10 minutes in the entire anime and it expects you to love him and care about him. Don't even bother.
Aoto's brother:
Appears again for like 10 minutes and you don't care about him.
Nordic gods:
Okay so these people would have been interesting but they are sadly wasted and just put on the sides to die.
Elemental teacher people:
So 3 girls that you don't care about at all.
Shakespeare: (yeah there is someone named Shakespeare in this)
Some random green haired girl that comes out of nowhere and you probably will not care about at all.
The rest of Arthur's army:
The army of Arthur that appears for like 2 episodes and you will never care about even though the anime tries hard to make you love them.
Enjoyment 1/10:
This anime was a drag to watch. The first few episodes may have been interesting but it fell off and was like watching Sky Wizards Academy again. The ending of episode 12 also made me rage. If you ever watch it which I recommend you don't you will want to kill yourself if you watched everything and didn't skip to the end. Don't even attempt it.
Overall 2/10:
Some of the most important parts of an anime, the story, characters, and the enjoyment of it really bring this anime down. The art and the sound though help to bring it up to something better than the absolute worst of the worst. Please save the time you have and watch something that is not this piece of crap.

Let's get to the point, this anime is one of the worst I've ever seen. This anime was so bad, I had to drop it while it was still airing. That is how bad it was. I usually try not to drop anime unless they are super boring or so bad that I just cannot watch them. I even made it through Sky Wizards Academy (you can find my review on that on MAL) and Chaos Dragon and those were terrible. Well, let's get into why this anime is horrible.
Story: 1/10
This is one of the worst parts of this anime. I had high hopes for
...
how the story would be but it just fell straight on its face and burned. I just remember how bad it was with the plot being very confusing, very stupid, and very predictable. I guess this is how many game adaptations are going right now *cough* *cough* God Eater *cough* *cough*. I never understood what was going on in this anime and the explanations sometimes make no sense. Some things I find are just to keep the plot moving in the few episodes it has. I even questioned if some characters would do these moves as it doesn't even fit with their personality. Mostly for this anime, I was like WTF, WHY WOULD HE DO THAT!!! This anime also tries to make you get emotional with some character deaths but I just blew it off as they never really got that much character development so you just don't care in the end unlike an anime such as Your Lie in April. If I remember correctly, the story is about two alternate dimensions fighting over some glowing cubes so that there dimension will live and there will be no sand people things or something like that trying to kill all of them. That was pretty much all there was to this anime. Now you may ask yourself, THAT'S IT!?!?! Well sir, you are correct, that's all this anime is about. If your into good stories, just skip this anime entirely. I think I've ravaged the story enough at this point, let's move on.
Art: 4/10
Okay, the art in this anime wasn't to bad. They had nice backgrounds and setting design and it didn't look like it was running at 10fps. The thing that really drags it down is the amount of CG that is put in this. I just remember seeing a ton of it in this anime. It didn't even look good. I've seen some studios pull of CG and it looked amazing but this just looked like garbage. All the hand drawn stuff looks fine but the CG is a huge minus.
Sound 6/10
Sound may be one of the only redeeming qualities of the show. I never really listened to the soundtrack or battle music due to me just be boggled at the stupidity of the story but the Opening and Ending songs were not bad. The Op was a nice song but isn't to memorable. The ending was actually good and could sort of be remember given that it is sung by GARNiDELiA.
Characters: 1/10
Given the story, you can probably tell that the characters terrible too. If you made that assumption, good for you because you are 100% correct. To first start off, there are 2 versions of each character who are named the same so it already is confusing. Most of these character just get no development and do things that make no logical sense and are pretty much brain dead. They literally do things that most people or other characters in their situation would never do. One other thing about these people is that they are super boring. A show with boring characters is never a good one. Some characters have a personality but for most of the large cast, it's really non existent.
Enjoyment: 2/10
This anime was pretty bad. The only reason why it deserves a 2 and not a 1 is the Opening and Ending because they were not half bad. If I could do a rewind like Satoru could in Boku dake ga Inai Machi, I would do it so that I never touch this anime ever again.
Overall: 1/10
Overall, I thought this anime was trash that somehow made it out of the dumpster and then showed itself to the world. It's on the level of Sky Wizards Academy on how bad it is. It is one of the worst shows of the Spring 2015 season and was so bad that I dropped it, and I normally don't drop shows. Never ever watch this show. With all your might, stay away from it like you have from any other horrible show out there.
