You should definitely check Gintama out. It's really funny. Not many animes have made me laugh as much as Gintama. It's 201 episodes though so I'm not sure if you'd be willing to commit to a long series :p I'm only a little less than halfway through 'cuz I kept putting it on hold. Now I'm getting back to the series so I can finish it before the new season next month :p

Toradora isn't what I expected when I first watched it too. I just saw a funny clip from it on Youtube one day and I decided to watch the series xD!
