Well... Elfen Lied was alright. I generally do like horror anime, but Elfen Lied wasn't my favourite. The story itself isn't too complex, just about a dyclonious with life-threatening powers goes missing, endangering the lives of the community.
I must say, the art was definitely one of it's positives. If it wasn't for its art, I would have definitely down graded it slightly, most likely to a 4 or a 5 overall.
The sound was pretty reasonable. Nothing amazing, but still to a good enough standard to enjoy the show because it wasn't terrible. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the show while it lasted
...
(it's a 13 episode show), but it has it's negatives.
For instance, the characters...
I'd definitely say that Lucy's split (Nyu) is adorable and certainly a character that we attach ourselves to throughout the show. However, the remaining characters (Koda, Nana, Yuka, etc) were all extremely irritating and not developed at all throughout the show. The relationship between Yuka and Koda did not develop at all from beginning to end, which was kinda frustrating. As well as that, Yuka is a character that I really disliked purely because she was always moaning, whining and pestering Koda. I'm not usually criitical when it comes to the personality of individual characters in an anime show, but I strongly dislike Yuka as a character because of the way she behaved in every situation and also because of the way she is portrayed to us. I feel as if we were supposed to dislike Yuka.
Overall, I did enjoy the show despite these things. Generally speaking, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't phenomenal either. It was kinda just your average anime horror show. If you are new to the genre of anime horror, definitely give this one a try despite its lack of character development.

Angel Beats!
My gosh!
This 13 episode masterpiece had me mindblown!
The show has such a strong, emotional story line which develops at a perfect speed for my personal preference. The story itself was so heartwarming and emotional. At times, it was so joyous and wonderful, other times very tearful and sad. I'd recommend this anime to absolutely anybody, but especially to those who enjoyed Clannad/AS and Kanon 2006.
I must say that Angel Beats is my ultimate favourite anime, not just for it's level of smashing success, but for the amazing quality of absolutely everything that you look for in a good anime. The art is incredible.
...
It could hardly be topped. Not only that, the sound is lacking like in most shows like this, which was a major bonus because it helped to get the full experience of the show.
This, however, cannot even be expressed... the character development is immense. The relationship between the characters is amazing. I was attached to the relationship of Yuri and Otonashi purely because it was almost like a love hate friendship. Their little quarrels are so entertaining and they bring them closer together throughout the show.
Not only that, the way that their stories of their past are incorporated into the show made it so emotional and helped us to see why the characters behave in a certain way throughout the show. For example, ((small spoiler)) we see why Yuri is so hard shelled: because of her past life, she behaves in a certain way to protect her feelings from being hurt because she is a broken individual.
Overall, I enjoyed this show beyond belief. I was honestly so upset when it finished and I watched it a number of times afterwards because I just couldn't get enough of the show. My all-time favourite anime character is Kanade Tachibana (Angel) because she is just such an amazing character. She is very mysterious throughout the show because we aren't sure about her intentions until the later end of the show but I feel that I'm always pulled towards the quiet, mysterious individuals because their stories are revealed and are often extremely interesting.
I feel that Angel Beats is the perfect show. My advice to you is to watch it as soon as you possibly can if you haven't already because it is truly amazing. You won't regret it. I feel that it is the very best anime for character development because there are so many characters, yet all of them are used to their full potential to craft the show. There was not one character that I disliked at all.

---No spoilers, just a brief outline---
Personally, I really liked this anime very much. I've always been a great fan of horror anime, therefore I expected that I would enjoy this one immediately. I have to admit, I feel that the story started off pretty slow, but then as the episodes began to progress, it developed extremely quickly which has a very dramatic effect on the viewer and I feel like this is what really got me hooked.
By episode 2, I was asking so many questions and I just wanted to watch more. Who is this girl?
What is going to happen next?
I must say that the
...
story line in itself is extremely unique, this being why so many people enjoyed the anime. The art was also incredible as well as the character development. We start off by lurking in the shadows so to speak, and then we are finally given the information we desire as the story and other characters begin to develop within the show.
As well as that, the use of the character's in this show is also very good and forms the plot very well. I'd say that this is what made this show so impressive for me.
Overall, I would give this show an 8/10 purely because the only thing lacking, in my opinion, for it to reach the top of the scale, would most likely be the sound. The sound was pretty lacking, not anything impressive at all like we'd have hoped with the kind of quality of everything else. I'd have to say that this would be the perfect show if the sound was to a better standard.

Think you know gore?
I introduce Corpse Party
Corpse Party was so good!
Basically a group of students suddenly find themselves in an older version of their school which is haunted. They try to get out and survive.
It's only 4 episodes, however, so there will be mysteries unsolved and no character development. The only way to enjoy this show is to watch the here and now.
The sound is pretty amazing: the screams, the laughs, and the general quality is pretty amazing. The art I feel is what this show was lacking but it wasn't a major off-put for me. Also, as I said previously, the
...
fact that there is no character development is a drawback for a lot of people, but I didn't mind too much because it's only 4 episodes and I like the way that it jumped into the story so suddenly.
Overall, I really enjoyed the thrill of the show because I am a huge horror lover myself and I felt that the story was really good and well thought through.
Overall, I'd give this show a 7 purely because everything about it was very good, but there were a few set backs: the lack of character development, not much of a build up to the story, etc. I recommend Corpse Party to anyone who likes anime that is "short and sweet" so to speak, and also those who enjoy the whole horror genre in itself.
Another advantage about this show is that if you're looking for an anime to watch in one sitting, this is for you because as I said, it's short and it keeps you engrossed for about 2 hours! :D
Hahaha!
Anyways, be sure to check this anime out. In my opinion, it's definitely worth the watch and it scores highly on MAL.

Wow!
To be completely honest, no doubt about it, this anime is outstanding!
The story is so emotional and really develops on each characters very own story. It all starts when Yuuchi goes to stay with his cousin, Nayuki, where he meets a bunch of new people who change his life immensely. <3
I highly recommend this anime to anyone who loves "slice of life" anime, especially to those who have given Clannad/AS high ratings on MAL. Firstly, I watched Kanon and it was my very first 20 episode anime. I'm usually one for shorter anime (12-13 eps) but when I came across this I was starstruck!
I can't
...
possibly find any negative comments about this show; as I said, the story is outstanding, the art is very good, the sound is extraordinary, the characters and their development is great, as well as the development in their relationships too. I thoroughly enjoyed the anime and all of the emotion it brings. I won't give away any spoilers, but I did shed many tears throughout. From beginning to end. Also, there was not a character I didn't like, they all had the most amazing connection with Yuuchi. My favourites, especially, were Ayu, Sayuri, Makoto and Mai. Yuuchi had the most amazing connection with these characters, therefore I love this anime very much. Many points made me smile too, as well as cry as I said previously.
Overall, I give this a 9/10 - it was close to a masterpiece. Absolutely remarkable!

Watamote - also known as Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! - was generally a very good anime. I really enjoyed it purely because it reflects the struggles and the story of a shy, easily embarrassed girl dealing with a form of social anxiety. It shows the amount of stress high school seems to put her through, and some parts of the anime make you feel much sympathy for the main character, yet other parts make you laugh. I'd say that this anime contains an assortment of funny moments and all sad (ish) moments.
I highly recommend this anime to anyone
...
who is looking for a unique anime to really reflect on. However, the only disappointment in the story is that the development of the story is severely lacking. Despite this, the story is very easy to follow but it often repeats itself. Not only that, the character development on the main protagonist is very good, because we are able to see her innermost emotions throughout every situation.
I really did enjoy this anime because the art is very unique and the sound was good. As well as that, some people may not like this factor, but there were quite a few characters, but not loads like many other animes. This was something that I liked because it meant that the plot was very easy to follow and it also meant that not many of the characters would intefere with the struggles of each individual.

In my opinion, Death Note was an extremely good anime; I feel that the characters were developed very well and the story was easy to get a grasp of. While this itself makes for an engaging plot, what really makes Death Note one of the top series are the characters who cause an obstruction to Light's mission to rid all evil. Topping off the cast is the fan favorite L, whose character is just indescribable. A mysterious but somewhat successful genius, L is probably the only mind that could match the scheming Light. L was infact my favourite detective in the show. I loved everything
...
about his character and the way it was developed. I loved his little habits and flaws that were shown throughout the show that shape him as an individual. The way that L and Light try to get around each others ideas is actually quite funny (not for comedy's sake, actually). This makes you take in every detail and anticipate the next move.
This is just within the first few episodes when the characters are introduced and we begin to get to know their true colours. The story line is simple so that anyone of any intelligence would be able to follow it, yet many people have a different perspective of the way that L tries to figure things out (I try to say this without spoiling anything). Additionally, this series offers something that not many other series do. There is no way that we could find out what happens if we used the Death Note ourselves. What if we had a Death Note? Would we use it?
Would the rules and the concept of it be any different?
This is the main reason why I like this anime. There are many ways that you can think about it in ways that we will never know whether we were right or wrong.
However, when I first began watching this anime, I didn't find the plot very complex (in ways, this could be seen as a good thing). Nevertheless, I saw it as very uninteresting to begin with because I felt that there was not much of a purpose to the plot, and I felt that it was going to be very predictable. I was wrong. The plot twists in Death Note are absolutely incredible, as well as the art and the development of the amazing characters is too.
I literally couldn't stop watching it when I got mid way into the series because I just wanted to know what was going to happen next. Hahaha!
I recommend this anime to absolutely anyone who can endure something a little more twisted and mysterious. I also agree that this anime could be classed as a little gory towards the end of the show, but anyone who can endure that I think will really enjoy this show.
