I certainly am not giving it an overall 10 because I am a fan of this series, but in my books it hits all key notes to a great story!
It's about a two hour long movie, adapting both volume 6 and 7 of Hajime Kamoshida's Seishun Buta Series' light novels. In a shorter sentence the last volumes of the light novel series.
I won't give any spoilers either but I found the movie fantastic!! Of course to those who watched the anime series we already knew what we were getting into! This psychological, supernatural love anime was just too good to not let go!
...
Honestly I would be lying if I didn't say the characters in here, meaning the main characters Sakuta and Mai was tremendously well thought out of. The emotions, feelings, dialogue were just amazingly well played! The movie had more twists and turns than the anime did. The climax made me cry so damn ugly. The choices between both Mai and Sakuta were selfish but with reason when finding out about Shouko.
I have to had it to the VA of Sakuta and Mai, amazing work! It's like the chemistry was just meant to be!!
One thing that kind of stuck with me, or maybe I was probably not paying attention was the Puberty Syndrome wasn't really explained well enough then again that could be just me not paying attention.
To add on, I kind of like that the adding the ending song of all the female main cast sung. Almost made me wanted to cry because it've over. T-T
But my overall score for the movie:
Story - 9
Art - 10
Sound - 10
Character - 10
Enjoyment - 10
Overall - 10

Before reading this, there are spoilers!!!
The anime series hasn't end yet but I have to say it's been awhile since us anime fans have been given a gem like this. I'm writing this review because I am fascinated by such series! Slice of life, drama, romance, great character development, conflict. I can go on and on about it.
Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo or the english title 'O Maidens in Your Savage Season' hits all the key points of a good shoujo drama series. Like the list I had mentioned above it hit all those key points of how anime drama should be like,
...
It's definitely not perfect or a masterpiece but it's got my high ratings.
When you start watching this series don't mind the S E X being thrown around like nothing. This series does a wonderful job of showing how the Japanese society actually don't really talk nor educate kids about sex often. There are classes but of course sexual intercourse, and having the "talk" what westerner would say, is considered embarrassing to do so. One really has to understand a certain part of different society before judging this series.
This series as a whole is relatable in character by those similar of age and those who've gone pass that of age. Not only does the story being told give insights on a womens' point of view only, they are also able to capture the mens' point of view. The topic being spoken about, love, jealousy, sex, finding ones true identity, it's pretty hard to capture that. Especially in this day and age. I see other fans bashing it, as implementing sexual desires in youth, but it's not.
The relationships in this series from High school boy to high school girl, teacher to student, high school girl to high school girl. It covers a lot of things that high school students go through. Although this series is highly on the fantasy side since it is anime. It's telling a good story on high school life, since thats when most student hit puberty and start maturing and thinking more about stuff like sex, and finding ones sexual identity.
The characters in here can be related on all sides. Whether your deeply in love, lost in love, lost in ones true self. Self inflicted. The story too, it follows each main girl and connects them quite well. The issue they face are very transparent. The pace of the story is well, since it is a 12-episode series.
Mari Okada does a wonder job in doing that. This stories revolves around each other quite well. This doesn't really sound like a review but these are my thoughts. It a great series and it deserves more attention.

Why I gave this a 10/10!!!
Because I love this series!! I cried, I laughed, I shared some pain, I related to it so well.
Is because it deserves it! For an anime original to do this well is OBVIOUSLY hard thing to do.
It was such a fantasy series. In my opinion this series not only was able to capture youth, struggles, and understanding oneself fantastically, the music and the concept was just amazingly done. Carefully thought out. Shirase was definitely the MVP in the last couple episodes. Whether you are old, young, active, or not. This series captures many people who always wanted

to step outside their comfort zone and explore.
The character development was fantastic, you really see growth in all the characters. You watch as Mari change from being scared and not doing anything to exploring Antartica, and going out with Shirase, doing things she usually don't do. Living her youth. And then you have Yuzuki who doesn't trust in "friends" because of her past experience. Seeing that she opens up to Hinata, Shirase, and Mari and starts being more happy. You have Hinata, strong willed, not wanting to tell the other girls her feelings, she was a mystery until close to the end opening up to the rest of the girl about being betrayed by her so called friends in her old high school. THEN WE HAVE THE BEST GIRL Shirase the one who literally triggers them all to live life, to travel with her to Antartica. Not just that, we she her struggle, with people making fun of her, letting her down, saying she won't make it to Antartica, she even struggles internally knowing that her mother is gone. But she still wants to go there and see what her mother did. Seeing her change through out the whole series was WORTH IT!. The fact all these girls are able to contribute to each other, is amazingly done.
The story itself is intriguing, you have 4 girls who don't really know each other going to A PLACE FURTHER THAN THE UNIVERSE, for all different reasons. But one place remains the same.
The music of course was FANTASTIC too. The amazing execution of the music into the most important scenes was great, can't say much, I recommend going to listen to the songs!
Of course the Art was amazing!! The sceneries were awed! I personally have seen the aurora in person, I was awed and amazed as much as these girls was.
This probably a basic as hell thing to say, I've seen a lot of anime, never made an review until this one, and this one was definitely a great one. I recommend to watch it. OF COURSE everyone has their own taste and opinion. These are mine. :D
Enjoyment? If I could give it an outstanding series award, I would! 10/10
