Geek, gamer, and old fan of anime.
Started with Voltron as a child before being introduced to Gundam, Dragon Ball, Akira, etc., but barely remember much of any of them. Recently, I was feeling nostalgic and thought I might try to get back into anime. That's how I found out about MAL!
The features here are pretty amazing. As I was looking around the site to learn my way around, I found the link to the 2024 Anime Challenge. Very cool idea! Seems like an interesting way to get back into the scene and broaden my horizons. I'm a little late to the party, but the challenge itself, the goal-oriented structure and the pressure of a deadline are all quite appealing to me. I'm gonna give it a go to kick off my experience on MAL!

That said, it's time to pick a new anime to watch! How about Lodoss-tou Senki to complete Chibi challenge #1: (11) Watch an ONA, OVA, or Special that has 10 episodes or more? Sounds good. Let's do it.
For the time being, I need a break from Hunter x Hunter, and will continue the AWC with Ore dake Level Up na Ken for Family challenge #3: (27) Watch an anime that began airing the same year you joined MAL.
The next addition to my watched list was Interstella5555: The 5tory of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem to satisfy Chibi challenge #6: (144) Watch an anime adapted from a Music, Other, or Unknown source. Cool idea for a movie and I appreciate Daft Punk's music, so it was worth the watch.
Right now, I'm currently in the middle of watching Hunter x Hunter. With 62 episodes, it will be my longest anime since joining MAL, and the perfect choice for Youkai challenge #1: (19) Watch an anime with 60 or more episodes that are each 10 minutes or more. ^^ So far so good!
It's time for Chibi challenge #5: (132) Watch an anime with a total duration of 16 minutes or more and tagged with 1 Genre or less... Boku no Hero Academia!
Starting now, the new series is Samurai Champloo.
On to the next! This time for the 2024 Anime Watching Challenge, I picked Chainsaw Man which qualifies for Youkai challenge #2: (35) Watch an anime that has an episode duration of 16 minutes or more and started airing in October. I'll begin diving into this one tomorrow evening!
Right now, I'm moving on to another category in the official 2024 Anime Watching Challenge: Chibi challenge #1: (11) Watch an ONA, OVA, or Special that has 10 episodes or more. For this, I chose Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. This certainly caught my eye on Netflix, but I never got around to watching it.
So here goes!
Starting right away with the 2024 Anime Challenge. Pretty excited about this, tbh. One Punch Man will be my first goal (Onsen challenge #5: (127) Watch an anime that is tagged with Mahou Shoujo or Super Power). Heard a lot about the series!
